I walked over to my old house late this afternoon just to reassure myself that the water was off and the lines drained. We have cold weather coming on Tuesday and Wednesday. Mid 20's type cold. The high 40's that I walked in was plenty cold for me. I had on a undershirt with a Henley over it. As soon as I got out in the wind, I knew I should have put on a jacket too.

I walked on down to the pond while I was over that way. Saw six deer. I wasn't close enough to tell if there was any spikes, but there were no big horns in the bunch. Two mile walk, round trip, in just over 30 minutes. My nose and fingers were all that got really cold.

Got some boxes to unpack today, and will be going through and thinning out old files and stuff as I reorganize some drawers and shelves.

When it's cold in Florida it's really cold. I believe it was the coldest I ever felt in St Petersburg years ago temperatures in the 30s wind blowing off the water miserable

Poured second cup of coffee. 22° with clouds this morning. Heading to 34° with sun in the morning then back to clouds. Does not look like better weather is headed this way for a few days. Going get neighbors trench filled. I hope it has not froze solid yet.

a much colder 39 degrees here and hardly rising to 45 today as the cold air settles into this area.
I have more food shopping and house cleaning to do for my house guests coming in late today so good thing I got all the outside stuff
done yesterday. Sure was fun. I keep looking over at those new fruit trees like a guy looks back at his new Corvette...

Good morning! First freeze this Fall at 30˚. It will warm up to 47˚ today and this should be the end of the freezing temperatures for a while.

The electricity went off at 2AM but was back on this morning. No freeze damage to water pipes - I was worried about my above ground pool, I usually drain it down a few inches and disconnect and drain the exposed non insulated piping too and from the pump and put the pump in the garage. My plan last night was just to let the pump run over night. At 2AM I was thinking that plan wasn't thought out very well. I thought for a second about my generator sitting in the garage and then went back to sleep.

Don, I have a mental picture of you at 2am laying in bed with your brain going a mile a minute wondering if you
have to get up and do something. And even if you do make a decision to not get up, then it takes a while for the
gears to slow down...

23 this morning and headed to 34 today. Windchill is 16. Mowed yesterday after I got deer taken care of. Will finish mowing today. Last time till spring. Then take forms off the concrete and get ready to start the headers tomorrow when I have some help.

Oh I forgot I did get up to report the outage and check all lines near the house. The laptop had plenty of battery and when I got it rolling the internet was down to the house (it needs electricity, da) so I had to report it by phone. I was wondering if they were doing rolling blackouts and I was thinking if a line is down, we might be called out to put out a grass fire, maybe I should help them locate the downed line, I could jump in my truck with my spotlight, and… and...

Thanks Drew, That is the one thing about living on the side of a mountain, you never know what you'll find. Tough during winter months and is why we head south.

32F & cloudy. 2" of wet snow overnight. It never got cold enough for the snow to stick on the driveway, just on the grass and tree limbs.
