Good morning!!!!

Thomas-- Newport's smaller, a lot less commercial, and... yep, less expensive. Still not sure if I'll be able to afford to keep this plane, but I'm going to find out, and at least "get legal" for my flying-- this time with a license.

I figure not having to rent a plane for lessons will save quite a bit of $$ (think $120+ per hour), and if I end up having to sell the little Tri-Pacer (AKA "Flying Milkstool," "Pie-Chaser," etc...) I doubt I will lose much, if anything. Actually, the seller made me promise to give him and his wife first dibs if I do end up having to sell it, they liked it that much. Kind of a bittersweet parting for them.

I thought about Post Mills, but, although about the same distance from me, Newport is FAR easier (and quicker!) to get to, not to mention a paved field instead of grass. Approaches are a bit easier, too.

Roy- once up around 5500', the air was pretty dry; we were above the few clouds that were around, so icing wasn't an issue, but I am going to have to work on the cabin heat a bit- I was cold most of the way up here!:( Unfortunately, since I didn't want to miss the rare confluence of schedules required to get the plane, I pushed myself a bit too much; the sinus problems I was having last week have now evolved into a classic head cold. Yuck.

Hope everyone else has a good day- supposed to get a lot more melting today with temps hitting 60 or better!

Approaching 70 today in the Virginia mountains... Chance of showers later. Will try the new JD out on the box blade today. If the ground gets too damp it tears things up.

51 here and pouring rain, it was a beautiful spring day yesterday, got as high as 67 and I got out a power washer and hose and scrubbed the winter grime off my wife's car. Our cats are simply disgusted with the rain because they expected to get back outside today. I will spend today printing off photos and working on our taxes.

Glad you had a safe cool flight back to Newport! We fish the Sugar River up that way and I was wondering is that the Post Mills airport you mentioned above? Take care of that cold.
