Drew, I do windows myself. No screens. Except on back porch. No ladder required. I can reach all the windows standing on the ground. Takes about 1 hour to do house windows. Add another hour to do porch. I use same equipment and cleaner that window cleaning company use. I did all the inside of windows with my sisters help during her visit this summer.

Good morning TBN. 52 going to near 80 today with a bit more clouds and slim chance of rain overnight.
Temps are supposed to drop about 15 degrees tomorrow.

I got 10k steps yesterday and the day before. I haven't had less the 7k since Aug 1 and as many as 15k. Damn dog

Yesterday was about the same. Cleaned up the drive 1/4 mile of driveway some more and worked on a couple of trails after my trip for fuel. Blew leaves out of ditch alongside of the drive. I'll blow as long as they are dry as it is so much easier.

Still waiting on FEMA to come look at the lack of bridge and still shopping for a decent tank or culvert. They ain't cheap. Kinda hope FEMA decides to help. Time will tell.

Still waiting on my son. Maybe today maybe not. Either way we will be here.
Not really sure what I will get in to. No lack of things to do. Just what I mentally want to take on.

Happy, have to laugh about dog. My Sassy likes to go for walks to back of my property. Almost 1/4 mile. Yesterday she looked at me sat at back door. That walk generally gives me 1500 steps. Even without her walk I got 7,200 steps. Today she will probably want to do that walk twice. A 8 lbs dog does not walk as far as larger dogs.

my challenge with steps is the more i walk the more my back hurts.
I only averaged 1750 steps during my rv trip. Was kind of hoping all the bouncing around would give me
more steps...
overall I average 2300 steps. That's lethargic for most of you. On a day I do four or five thousands steps I'm usually in pain.
but I do it anyway. Just trying to delay major back operation at L5 as long as I can. And now when I walk I can start to feel it in my legs which is not good. I try to suck in my stomach and keep better posture, that helps.

taking 13 pounds off has helped. Taking the next 13 off is not going to be easy.

Ron, all my windows without screens I do with pole mop.
reminds me to talk to landlady today, show her bent screens, holes, etc and why I can't open them anyway.
30 year old Andersons that are simply worn out. With my pollen allergies I don't open the windows anyway.

Tax appraiser show up 1pm nice young man,he did some looking writing I ask how much do think my taxes will go up,he reply 2%-4% some residents will see around 10% .
He ask couple times where the bear Boo was,I said you have nothing to worry about long as you don't get out of your car Boo was 60'+ looking from behind a BIG pine laying down.

Boo would have come out in a hurry if he had replied 10%, right?

My mom was moved to rehab yesterday afternoon. When I found out I decided to drive down and help her get settled. I was there when the transport ambulance drove up. I looked in the back window...what a big smile she gave when she saw me. Stayed until 8pm, visitation was over, so skipped dinner, but made sure she ate as much of hers as possible. She likes the food there. So much better than the hospital.

Mrs. said she heard something last evening while covering bqq grill on the deck,shine the area and Boo was playing with his tire swing making huffing sounds shall investigate this morning.

Plans for today...finish blowing leaves if 15+ winds in my favor will make it lot easier.

Glad you mom has positive attitude doing lot better...give hug for me.

Good morning! 61˚F heading to 88˚. Looks like the best chance for rain (50%) will be on Halloween. Sorry kids but we need the rain more than you need the candy. No tricker-treaters come to this retirement neighborhood anyway.

Of course no rain is forecast for today, the last weekend of the Fall Festival and it will be packed, expecting a record crowd like last weekend, weather is cooperating, not perfect for Fall, but warm and sunny.

Last night our youngest son and family took Kathleen out for dinner, I had a spicy chicken sandwich and it didn’t go well for me later on ! Stomach bug came back, up most of the night and now taking Immodium again !
Don’t think I can do spicy anymore!

I bought a new Koehler carb for the C125 Wheel Horse, but probably won’t get to that today !

Drew, I’m kind of like you, if I do too much walking I can get some back pain, I usually do 2-3 miles if I have the time and that’s it !

Now that it's light out, I am surprised how many leaves fell yesterday afternoon and last night. We did get a small shower, but likely the wind was the culprit. I think we are at peak for most of the trees...some are nearly bare already, too, like the yellow poplars and aspens.

Scott, hope you're feeling better. I'm a big Gerrit Cole fan, so am sorry he didn't get the win. But you got to love Freddie Freeman hitting the big one while injured. Good family men.

Myself personally I have absolutely no use for that country and have no desire what so ever to go visit it.
I wished it had been bombed to oblivion, many decades ago.

Understand your feelings. We felt the same way after WWII about Germany. Wars will do that. But time has healed most of those feelings about Germany and hopefully will do the same here at some point.

Morning all, 61 going up to 66, sunny, dry , breezy.
Hope the wind dies down a bit as having the firepit on full will throw a lot of embers.
Set up to have some people over for outdoor halloween movie night.
Making sliders, wife baked skull shaped brownies. Lots of other stuff, and themed drinks.
Will but screen out in a while, but the wind might knock it down.

Cleaned up leaves in yard and driveway, wind has undone some of that , oh well.

Lot's to do, so be well all.

Gravity gets all the credit for taking out this nest, guess it didn't survive falling 80 feet or so.

Almost ready, have to put up 3 screens, smoke machine and get grills ready.

Good morning! Low of 34°, going up to 74°, sunny. Only rain in the forecast is a 20% chance of a sprinkle on Tuesday. But, it is forecast to be windy too, so don't think any will happen.

I finally convinced the wifey that she needs to get looked at. I started calling a couple of clinics, only to be told their next appointments were in January. Really? Started calling "urgent cares"..... basically a run-around. Finally got an appointment for her on Wednesday.

Just not enough providers to cover the need. But, unfortunately, most of the patients probably don't need to ..... one little cough and they run to the Dr.
Our daughter says that about 85% of the patients that she treats, don't need to be seen or treated. Half of those are just 'demanding' she write scripts for pain meds....
No wonder that one can't get an appointment.....

Inside domestic chores are done, so today will be final outdoor prep for winter. Our first real hard freeze will happen Tuesday night, temp dropping to 26°, high expected to be 52°. First taste of winter for sure.

Good news from the BIL! The PET scan only showed a very small spot in the lung. All the other spots are gone. His oncologist is very pleased and will schedule more chemo / radiation. Hopefully the last needed treatment.
