Good morning! Low of 34°, going up to 74°, sunny. Only rain in the forecast is a 20% chance of a sprinkle on Tuesday. But, it is forecast to be windy too, so don't think any will happen.

I finally convinced the wifey that she needs to get looked at. I started calling a couple of clinics, only to be told their next appointments were in January. Really? Started calling "urgent cares"..... basically a run-around. Finally got an appointment for her on Wednesday.

Just not enough providers to cover the need. But, unfortunately, most of the patients probably don't need to ..... one little cough and they run to the Dr.
Our daughter says that about 85% of the patients that she treats, don't need to be seen or treated. Half of those are just 'demanding' she write scripts for pain meds....
No wonder that one can't get an appointment.....

Inside domestic chores are done, so today will be final outdoor prep for winter. Our first real hard freeze will happen Tuesday night, temp dropping to 26°, high expected to be 52°. First taste of winter for sure.

Good news from the BIL! The PET scan only showed a very small spot in the lung. All the other spots are gone. His oncologist is very pleased and will schedule more chemo / radiation. Hopefully the last needed treatment.

Good Morning@@@@ 63 @ 9:15AM. Sunshine to start, then a few afternoon clouds. High 81F. Winds light and variable.

Spent a few hours yesterday bucking manzanita logs to length and loading 'em on a pallet. Some are big enough that it would have been nice to split them, but I sold the splitter a while back. In between waiting for the batteries to recharge for the chainsaw, I installed the replacement charge controller in the gate opener. Seems to work, but then the one it replaced seemed to work, too, but it wouldn't charge the battery. Should know how it's doing by the time I leave end of next week.

Neighbor says he might be able to come today and take down the big pine that is leaning over the gate. Wind wise, it would be a good day for it.

More bucking for today, won't likely finish due to delays waiting for batteries recharging. Haven't had that trouble in the past, so maybe my batteries are wearing out?

Junior found my heat gun, but it wasn't where I told him it should have been. The good thing is it still works! That saved me going and buying another one.

Good (Sunday) morning. Overnight Low of 8.2C and it's presently 13.0C [heading to 21C], overcast & fairly calm.

Yesterday I just puttered around the house, mostly cleaning the bathroom & sink... one of those "I need to get around to that" things that I finally got around to.

I'm off to Church (leading the service today) in about a half hour and then the rest of the day is His.

Off early from work. Knee acting up, could hardly walk knee swollen. The one that was replaced 11 months ago. Went to urgent care for x rays. Everything normal. Started feeling better, Dr called it a muscle or tendon strain. I think it was the way my knee was positioned in the truck that was pulling the wagon. First time in the truck. Anyways all better now.

Drinking warm cup of coffee. 27° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 58° with a few clouds. More getting ready for winter weather yesterday. Made sure furnace in shop works. Thermostat needed new batteries. Everything else checked OK. Trac-Vac has a tire that keeps going low. Ordered a new inner tube for it. Back to tree trimming today. Leaves are falling off trees at a high rate. But will wait until later this week when it will be warmer. NASCAR in afternoon.

Good Morning
38° with a high of 58 under clear skies forecast for today.
Yesterday was fairly productive. Got all the mulch out of the dump trailer and spread, got the pool table out of the basement and moved to neighbors. Used the dump trailer pulled by the tractor to move the slate. It was interesting getting it up the stairs, as it’s one piece and very heavy. Youngest son had 5 of his friends here to help, I only had to advise, which sure beats lifting.

I took advantage of having all that muscle at my disposal, and talked them into moving my bedroom furniture into the old folks home which is where I woke up this morning.
It was a tough night took Zoe a long time to get settled, she kept getting in and out of our bed. Eventually she did settle down though. Grandson came by to show us his Halloween costume.

Today I’m off to Cincinatti, (actually Covington, KY), where I’ll be overnight until dinner time tomorrow. Not sure how I’ll stay occupied, but I’ll figure something out.
