BEF, I wonder if the pain is the nerves coming back online? Keep getting better. Prayers.

.

Drs have suggested that, but not very convincingly. The pain is stomach, chest, back, hands, palms, feet. The GBS affected feet to hips.

Good Morning!!!! 64F @ 4:30AM. Plentiful sunshine. High 88F. Winds WNW at 5 to 10 mph.

Sounds like mice were the first occupants of your motor home, Drew. Consider going over that engine compartment with a fine tooth comb, looking for tooth marks on wires and hoses. Some manufacturers are using plant based insulation on their wires, and mice find it irresistible. That was the case with the Vanagon, which apparently sat for quite some time before it came to me. Quite a few wires were replaced, and lots of turds cleaned out on that one.

The days are getting shorter, Thomas. It's nice not to have to go to bed while the sun is still shining!

Got the spraying done yesterday, but it took longer than I'd hoped, so clean up work is still to do.

Got word over the weekend from a German rider buddy of mine that the pistons I used in the red bike may have been fitted with the wrong rings. From the vertical scoring I can see on the cylinder walls while peeking through the spark plug holes with an endoscope, that seems to be the case. He gave me the URL to a web page that details the problem, but I don't read German so good, so today I'll see if I can find a translation. This explains the high oil consumption, too.

Happy Hump Day, folks!:dance1:

Just found this recap of current fire activity in California. It's been pretty quiet up until now, but things look to be catching up fast. I better make some time to read the manual for the fire truck.

Good morning! 72˚F heading to 92˚F cloudy change of rain. We only got a few drops of rain yesterday but the cooler temps were nice.
Survived the first FireWise clearing of underbrush yesterday and the leader served a nice cold watermelon at the conclusion.

RNG can you drive the firetruck and spray water or are the pumps attached to the motor and you have to be stopped to put it in pump gear?
What is your strategy with the firetruck when there is an approaching fire storm?

Good morning to all! Low of 48 this morning---- WOOO-HOOO! Made it into the 40's! Going up to 80 today with a 50% shot at some t-storms. We had a brief downpour last evening from a close by storm. I didn't confirm the amount of rain, but around a quarter inch. Temps will hover around that 80 mark all week.

That means cutting the grass and whacking those weeds back into line.... I get some tractor seat time, the son gets to do all the walking with the trimmer! Good deal for the knee, should help me out a bunch!

Today is 9/11..... Please remember all those first responders and innocent lives lost in NYC. I can't believe it's been so long already. Seems like last week....

The sun is coming up... I need to go get motivated and get the knee moving....cool temps and moisture must be affecting it this morning.

Everyone have a great day! Prayers sent out for all!

well I made it, but a day that was way too long and had too many bumps.
Young guy doing the training didn't know any more than I knew, which is fine for the stuff that's the same from rv to rv.
But when I start asking the stuff I don't know:
how does the mobileye accident avoidance system work?
I don't know, that's new.
Does this come with Sirius/XM?
I don't know, it should
How do you get to the nav part of the radio?
I can't find it.

At that point I found my salesperson, gently said the trainer wasn't helpful to me because he understood none of the electronics,
which is what a young person is supposed to know, right?...
So it turns out there is no navigation in the rv at all. Wrong radio allegedly installed at factory. Thankfully they had the right one in stock.
Now it's noon, I was supposed to be gone by then, owner not happy, gives me keys to loaner and 20 bucks and said please go have lunch on us.
Nice ride in a tiny beater Fiesta with 103k miles on it and a hole in the muffler. This was not a Lexus moment...
So thankfully the new radio works, and the trainer has zero idea what the icons do, quote from the owner "this stuff just all changed and it's all new
to us". Well, maybe that's true and maybe they need to do a better job of training the trainer.

I admit my humor was fouled from the very beginning when I popped the hood to the engine compartment and was a bit ticked off to find half an inch of grime over everything, must have driven here from Indiana in a rain storm, and two large piles of squirrel nuts stacked up around the hood latches. Clearly no one in the dealership had ever opened the hood. I looked at the trainer and just shook my head and quietly said this should not be. And left it at that. And it was still dirty when I drove out of there.
It will be cleaned tomorrow.

these were really nice people at D&H RV in Apex NC. But nice doesn't cut it enough if your business practices are sloppy.
I kept waiting to be impressed, and sure wasn't.

Ok, that's done, off my chest. Ride home was fine, very maneuverable, but much, much noiser than I thought. Lots of wind and tire noise.
Part may be due to my tinnitus, but I bet it quiets down a bunch when the new Michelins go on, oem tires are awful.
Engine had plenty of power, just had to ride the torque wave, picked up speed nicely. I drove between 65 and 70 on mostly 70mph roads, you could tell the faster you went the more you had to really keep your foot in it. Cruise control worked nicely, just wish Germans would not put it on a separate stalk that's close to turn signal.

oh, when I got it home the auto leveling system seemed to work, but error coded saying excess slope, which is absurd, look at the picture, maybe one degree, and it picked the front tires an inch totally off the ground and the rears over two inches off the ground. So I will fiddle with that tomorrow. Doesn't seem very stable perched up on those stork legs.
Outside looks nice, the plastic finish was well done.

time for dinner and an early bed. Will be less grumpy tomorrow.

OK, so who splashed the paint all over it?

RNG can you drive the firetruck and spray water

from memory I think he has a pumper and not a field/brush truck with the nozzles up front. Maybe?
Maybe they make their field trucks bigger in California, need them more...

they are very proud of that splashed paint, says their paint job is best in industry.
something tells me a few others say the same thing.

I would have preferred the model in all beige tones, less red but this was the show special and I've learned you snooze
you lose with the nice ones.

Yup. I snoozed and lost a couple of times getting my F150 pick up trucks over the years. They would have these killer deals in the spring, and by the time I would do all the negotiating, the real best deals are gone. Never mind. I wanted the 3.5 eco-boost, but had to take the 5 L V8 instead. I am very happy with it, however.

Nice rig you have there. I’m sure you’re going to have a blast driving it all over the place. They are getting extremely popular up here in Canada, and it seems that every time we drive up to Cottage there’s another new dealer with these things growing like mushrooms on the lot.
