Good evening all. 74F this morning, light wind and overcast sky. Wind became moderate with brick guts, sky cleared to partly cloudy in the afternoon, high temp was 93F HI 98. Bike ride to start the day, then putter in garage. Was going to buck logs for firewood but wife took early nap. Did get more 2 stroke gas mixed and another chained sharpened, cleaned terminals on trolling batteries and checking charger operation, seems to be working at this point. Grilled some brats for dinner again .
Buckeye sorry about your nerve pain, is that from nerves reconnecting or something else?
Randy i would like to be dine with hot and humid but the dome has not left yet :confused3: Also good news on the therapy front :drink:

RNG must be nice to have the sprinkler system done, sounds like the red bike is going to work out well, have fun with brewing.
PJ Cards are looking good when it counts, could be interesting post season.
Hawkeye, gets so hot here hard to get started on much especially projects that are longer than 1/2 day.
Drew, sorry your get RV day was soooo disappointing ! :thumbdown: Hopefully all the issues cam be easily worked out.

Slightly dull, with a few fine raindrops in the air that seem reluctant to come down to earth, but much warmer. This is the remnants of Dorian, most of it seems to be passing to the north.

Drew, hope you are over the disappointments of yesterday and now looking forward to the next adventures. Is 70 mph the normal speed for travelling in an RV on your roads, or were you just trying to blast out those squirrel nuts ? Here you often see camper vans going slower than cars. Not sure if that's to get a better ride with less tire and wind noise, or simply a consequence of our higher fuel prices.

BEF, your potatoes are doing better than ours. My wife is in charge of planting and she's decided this will be the last year we bother with them when there are tastier things to grow. Just picked the first corn on the cob and they are full of flavour, better than anything we can buy in the shops.

Hawkeye, thanks for being so considerate at taking your time over each project - it really does help some of us under achievers feel slightly less guilty.

Last evening able to remove dirt etc. main culvert area also widen path for the water all done by hand...whew,just not enough day light anymore for such projects after work.
E muffin feed little critters slow roll to work.

Poured first cup of coffee. 64° with some fog this morning. Heading to 83° with thunderstorms in PM. Another trip to Port Huron to visit my aunt. That will be about all today.

Drew, your motorhome looks great. Sorry you had very common service for the RV industry. Hope that the end of your problems.

A few showers early but nothing notable. Very warm and humid for the next few days with some more 90s, I thought we were past them.

BEF, glad you’re doing better all the time.
I’m walking almost entirely with a cane or nothing. It’s giving my legs a workout!
I drove to the drugstore and doctors office today, first driving since late July.
I filled out papers to try and get a better deal on my Brilinta, cheapest now is $167 month copay.

My nerve pain is terrible tonight. Even took the stronger pain med.

good morning all.
68 going to 89 in dense fog this morning.
After my last foot doc appt this morning back to mow and work on rv.

Eric, I'll normally run the rv at the speed limit plus maybe 2mph, but never over 70 on a pass and normally 65.
This rig was built in Indiana and driven to NC about 800 miles. I guarantee you that delivery driver wasn't driving slowly so
figure the engine was nicely broken in. Pretty hard to hurt this understressed diesel I think. Redline on diesel looked like 4100 rpm so relatively
high revver. Slowing down saves a lot of fuel, less wind and road noise, and easier to drive.
Americans have heavy right feet, you have to keep up at the light. My truck with a hemi engine and a travel trailer could almost out accelerate the guy next door.
Not in this, slow off the line and gradual build of speed, just like a big truck. Transmission does have a very low first gear gets it moving adequately.
One is driving a little house, try to minimize g forces.

I haven't worked my way through all the display screens but I know rv has cumulative mpg but don't know if it has instant mpg.
I'll be trying different speeds to see how much I can save, both in fuel and noise.
