looking at forecast for my relaxing two days in the Sonoran desert and there is a high heat warning and forecast of 107 both days. If I'm in the sun that's not good at all.
I might have to leave a day earlier for the next stop to get away from that kind of heat

I left a message at campground to please put me in a shaded site if possible.

Ted, still planning on being in Edgewood on Sunday and Monday.

Good (Wednesday) morning. Overnight Low of 11.7C and it's presently 14.0C, overcast [rain predicted this arvo] & fairly calm.

Yesterday arvo I did successfully drop the two tree trunks. They fell exactly where I wanted them... feeling 'chuffed'! 5 'sections' with 2 of them easily cut into manageable blocks. The other 3 were a 'no go'. So, it was time for some Tractor Fun! I was able to load all 3 onto the FEL forks and, slowly, deposit them onto the wood pile.

It's times like this that I'm so grateful to have these assets, especially my tractor.

Today is 'into town' day for mail & groceries. Depending on the weather, I may clean-up the large stump down flush with the ground... it's a job that needs to be done for aesthetic purposes.

That's about it, take care all.

I had a trip to Ontario ca once. I went into Beverly Hills, Huntington Beach, past dodger stadium.
Worked on an organ in Chino once, just down the road from Ontario. CrossPoint Christian Church, right across the highway from miles and miles of giant cattle lots. Not the most pleasant area to take a functioning nose. We drove about 3 or 4 miles west into town one day for lunch at In-N-Out Burger, and still didn't escape the stench. That was a tough week.

Great pics! And glad to see all the greetings and meetings.
The pictures were from the plane.
I have a GE Profile convection electric range in the house, it puts out minimal if any heat into the room, we use the convection bake all the time, as well as the air fry feature.
The OFM has essentially the same range, but in gas. I hope it doesn’t heat the room either. Interesting that it pairs wirelessly with the Profile microwave/vent hood to run the fan when any of the burners are on.
Thanks for the info!

Good Morning
57° with a high of 68 under partly cloudy skies forecast.

Yesterday’s trip went well, I used the little plane to commute, so I flew 3 different airplanes to accomplish the mission. The little plane, the turboprop and the jet. Looks like it was my last flight in that turboprop, we accepted the buyers offer yesterday after we parked it, it marks the end of an era. I have flown that plane for over 20 years, it still holds the NY-Paris speed record for its class, set by Chuck Yeager. He set many records in it when it was new.

I was back home by noon, and back into construction mode. The countertops were installed, and I got the kitchen sink all plumbed and working. I need a few pieces to complete the drain for the vanity sink, or that would be running as well.

Today will start with breakfast with the professor, then off to get the parts I need and finish the bathroom sink. Not sure what will be after that, but I’ve got my FAA physical at 2pm, so it likely won’t be an involved project.
Chuck Yeager, a fan I am. Always wanted a Bee mint to go on a crazy dangerous mission.
That 400 has some wow performance. Understand if your a bit somber over it going. Closest thing I've been on to compare, and only for a 22 minute flight, was a Turbo Commander with twin 733 shaft HP engines. That baby would put you in your seat. We didn't climb real high, and IIRC, on the downhill part of the flight we were cruising at 330 knots for a 2-3 minutes??? Is that possible?
Good Morning!!!! 53F @ 6:45AM. Foggy this morning, then partly cloudy this afternoon. High around 75F. Winds W at 5 to 10 mph.

Drew made it here at around noon, and after a quick lunch, we surveyed the damage to the transfer switch in the motor home. I couldn't smell the burnt insulation on the wires, but there was plenty of char to show some of them had gotten pretty hot. So off came the wire nuts holding the three wire pairs in place, and out came enough ten gauge butt connectors to take their place. And since Drew had a new transfer switch, we decided to put that in as well.

By that time the oil in the RV had cooled off enough to change it, but the vacuum siphon tube couldn't make it down the dip stick tube far enough to strike oil. So Drew heroically slithered under the RV, undid the drain plug, and let fly with the oil. Then he had to put the cork back in so we could drain the catch pan; it was too small to take everything at once. With the oil drained, he turned his attention to the filter, only the right sized band wrench was missing. So out came a pair of adjustable pliers that worked well but not as easy as the band wrench. There was still oil above the filter, so it coated the filter as it came off, sending oil all over Drew. What a trooper, not a single complaint. It was all down hill from there, and we soon had the new oil in place and the engine humming along nicely.

Took longer than expected, and I had to redo one of the connectors twice, but the transfer switch swap got done, too. And once we got the breakers turned on properly, sweet, cool air was soon blowing through the AC in the MH. Mission accomplished, and time for some dinner.

I'd put a rack of baby backs on the grill about the time Drew arrived, and had been dropping oak chips into a smoker pan all day. With the temp hovering around 225F, by six o'clock the meat was falling off the bones and there was a nice red smoke line in the pork. Smothered in Sweet Baby Ray's sauce and slightly carmalized by the flames, they were some good eatin'. The fresh corn on the cob and garden salad, sloshed down by a pair of Pacificos Drew brought along didn't hurt either. I'll save the jug of fine Woodfords Bourbon for when the Costco sized one runs dry, though.;)

Today he's headed into the Los Angeles area, hopefully during midday hours and avoiding the rush. Happy Trails, Drew, and it was a delight to hang out with you in real time for a change!
Your the helper hero of the day! Those ribs sound really good. I didn't see any oil drips under that Norton?
Glad I don't have to commute in LA....or anywhere that congested. Traffic is one thing I don't miss. My kind of Traffic is the kind with Stevie Winwood singing and playing.

Got home at 545pm, got on the tractor about 615, mowed until 830 well past dark. It was slow going in many places with deep Johnson and Bunch grass. Very dusty. Thunderstorms all around me but not over me kept it cool. It was very hot at first. Wore my N95 respirator.

Paul, have a good time playing at your high school reunion. That is a lot of amp to have to jam out. Will you be able to "crank it up"?

Frits, tire holding up? Hope so.

Wagtail, good on the tree felling. You too Billy. Farwood as we say around here.

Hope all have a blessed day. Prayers.

Looks like Ukraine is putting some ammo dumps out of commission.

My buddy grew up in LA suburb. He called cattle fertilizer in a bag, "Bandini" for when that area had plenty of stockyards.

I thought I was taking 101 to 10 but gps took me west on 134 instead. It was crowded too, but anything to get off what is likely the busiest highway around. Pretty sure it was the northern route to get here because I went south to San Dimas
You did. US101 ends and dumps you briefly onto CA 134. That continues east and then ends and merges into I210 in Pasadena. You took that to the CA 57 junction, then headed south to Bonelli. I haven't driven in that part of the LA basin for many years, and we were splitting lanes because even the high occupancy lanes were jammed. I can't imagine what it must be like now, even on a weekday in the low season. Get ready for more; I'm guessing you'll be routed down south a bit to I10, and then to parts east. The good news is you're about 2/3 of the way from when you left the ocean at Ventura to where you'll hit the desert at Redlands or there abouts.

Take it easy and you'll do just fine...

Drinking second cup of coffee. 63° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 71° with cloudy skies. Was up early to take son to airport for a flight to Seattle. Rest of the family lives in central Washington state. Had a good visit with Dennis and wife. Son left his dog with me until next week when he returns from Seattle. Will be fun playing with it throwing ball and frisbee.

Ron, glad good airport trip. I was stuck in construction traffic going to Ron’s. 30 yrs ago I did a project out near him, was nice country drive, now it’s all built up. Things sure looked different.
Thanks for showing me the back way out.
Our friends wife now works for GM, had worked for Chrysler. He now works for Samsung, was with Chrysler.

It's on a piece of 3/4" plywood, and hasn't had oil in it for a couple decades. Yet it still drips a drop a couple times a year.🤣
It isn't leaking, it is marking its' territory. ;)

Good morning, the low is 57 and going to a high of 64°F. Wind E 14 gusting to 20 mph. Cloudy with 40% chance of showers tonight.

I've got a quack appointment today to see if he will sign off on me getting my license back.
That liar told me when he wrote the last scripts that they were free due to my age. Sure they were 'free' AFTER I paid out $106.oo. The more I deal with this idiot, the more I dislike him.
Since I got checked into the hospital in May, I have shelled out $234.oo in dope. And not even the good stuff;
It is too windy to bike into town today, so I've got a ride coming at 11:10 for the 1.5 mile ride to the quack and then the dope store for more bp dope.

I guess I wont be getting after the lights until Saturday/Sunday.

Have a safe day all

65 and rain. Going to 78, maybe no rain for a short spell.

Wag, I've learned a new word..."chuffed." Nice.

Ron and BEF, great you got a visit...BEF, seems you are on the road a lot and never get tired. Remind me, why are you not looking in Augusta, Rockingham or Page counties?

Scotty, hot chocolate sounds like the perfect way to go. I used to always take a thermos of it when I'd take my young son out in the boat in the winter to go to our duck hunting blind. I drank most it myself! He wasn't much of a fan of anything but soft drinks back then. A couple of times I cooked bacon and eggs for him in the blind on my camp stove...had to keep the food in a cooler until cooking time or else it would freeze hard.

Good morning! 72˚F heading to the upper 80s, not quite fall weather like was forecast that will come tomorrow when it will be 60s in the morning. We did have a brief shower yesterday evening .06" just enough to make the grass smile.

I called out the company that installed the landscape lighting 15 years ago and found out how to turn on the lights outside. I am missing a control box (which is not made anymore) which one of the owners before me must have lost during their move. Last night I counted 12 working lights in the back yard and 20 in the front. About half of the lights are not working, some of the bulbs are burned out some wires have been cut. No digging with the shoulder yet so the project is on hold.

I need a timer (any suggestions) to turn on and off the lights for about two hours during the early evening/night because it lights up the steps on the front walkway.

Our neighborhood consist of 90 micro neighborhoods. The micro neighborhoods consist of several streets around your house. Our micro neighborhood is having a Wurst Fest this weekend and my wife is practicing her vegan German chocolate Texas sheet cake recipe. She got the Test cake perfect. We are also going to make/take some homemade vegan sausages.

PT this morning ready to feel the pain and grab the gain. They have me do about 6-8 different exercises three sets of twelve, at the end of the hour I am so ready to go home. My reach is improving.

Safe travels Drew!
