In local news, search and rescue found the body of a man that had disappeared under the water a few miles up the canyon from here. In spite of all the warnings about the water being fast and very cold from the spring melt, he went swimming anyway. At least they got to him before he found his way down here; the river is now several hundred feet deep and it would have taken the side scanning sonar setup to find him.

And now Chico's homeless have taken to crapping in the streets; one lady even uses hers as a missile thrown at those showing their displeasure of her actions. It would appear as though the town is making a bee line for the Dark Ages, another sign of the approaching Apocalypse. No wonder a recall election is in place for the mayor and one of his councilmen.

68°F and cloudy this morning, going up to 83° today. No rain in the forecast for today. The severe stuff seemed to miss us to the south yesterday. We had one pop-up rumbler just after dinner last night, but it didn't last long.

The doe came back for another visit just before the storm, and brought junior with her.

thanks, this time it worked, she had jazz playing on the stereo and was trying to get back with it.

And...long phone conversation with Randy/Toppop. He called me after I emailed him.
He doesn't want to go into all the gory details, but he has had a very rough time, sick again almost immediately
after hospital, still battling something giving him a temperature.
But I believe he is on the mend. Still has to use a walker around home, but is pushing himself.
Ellen comes every day, is a blessing to him.

And guess what guys, how's your memory? Toppop is getting married in two weeks :drink:, so he sure has a motivation to get back in health.
He can use our prayers for continued recovery but he has felt pretty crummy lately and not talkative, understandable for sure.
But he hears us, and knows we are pulling for him.

I'm off to mow roadsides on a 94 degree day. I'm sure heat index is three digits.
If only I didn't have to get out and pick up the road trash, get out of that nice cool cab into a blast of hot air.

That's a trip I always wanted to make, I love cruises, just sitting out on balcony and watching water go by, the rougher
the weather the better. I always ask for the engine room tour, you don't always get it, bridge tours are kind of boring after you've done it
a few times, same stuff on all the ships. Today you can tour most big ship engine rooms by youtube, someone has taped it.
