Good Morning Everyone!!!!!

A sunny, breezy 37ºF for today’s low; a breezy sunny 65ºF presently; probably close to today’s high temperature. Another great day to be outside = too windy for blackflies. The garden is prepped for tilling later this week.

Buppies- My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers,

David- Good luck with the Project. You definitely put a lot of brainpower into this effort.

Phil- Driving around Boston reveals M@$$hole driving at its “finest,” especially during rush hours  My condolences and good luck. I stopped going to MassGeneral because to the constantly changing routes and the traffic. I think the MassDot civil engineers were disciples of Timothy Leary and/or Carlos Castanada. They must lay awake at night thinking of new ways to agitate and confuse the driving public.

“Kyle, it's amazing how service providers will try to prey on the elderly and handicapped. - RonJH. I believe there are consumer advocating agencies that would be interested in this attempted ripoff. Elder Services, Council on Aging, Better Business Bureau immediately come to mind.

Claye- The late season snows that you are experiencing is really crazy. Good luck with the snow management.

Thomas- Awesome picture. Thanks for sharing.

I hope that everyone is having a decent day.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.

Not quite sure I understand the setup, but if you'll be pumping water down the black pipe to act as a water jet, won't the water be the lubricant?

Unlike my 1st setup this one isn’t plumbed for continuous water, but possible to hook up in between ram pushes. Maybe I should reconsider? Think that would be better than spraying shaft as it advances? Maybe both? Hmmmm, more thinking.

Driving in Boston is nerve racking at times but nothing like driving the Freeway in SoCal !

The starter has been acting up on the Dixon SpeedZTR for a little while now. It finally gave up the ghost last weekend, so I called the place The Wife bought it from and ordered a new starter. Parts guy there found an aftermarket part that saved me $45 over the OEM starter. Nice. We've been talking about replacing it for awhile now, but keep saying, "Let's get one more season out of it." After 15 years, it's just about done. They called yesterday and said the part was in, so The Wife went to pick it up this morning. She sent me a text telling me she looked at several new zeroturns they had.
Simplicity 48" - $3700
Husqvarna 48" - $3000
Ferris 48" - $4300
Simplicity 42" - $3000 (the Dixon is 42")
She didn't like that the Simplicity didn't have a seat adjustment slide (she's 5'2", I'm 6'), so it came down to the Husqy and the Ferris. We've had really good service from all the other Husqy stuff over the years; two riders, two push mowers, and a gas line trimmer. So, she's leaning towards the Husqvarna. I have to agree. Ferris makes good stuff, but I'm not sure the $1300 difference would be worth it (she did like their arm rests, though).

Sounds like we're getting a new mower, probably at the end of this season.
Which ferris model? I just got a price on one, IS2100 with 60" deck, over $10k

And Briggs & stratton now owns Ferris, which exlains why the IS700 i wanted with a kawasaki is no longer available

I would think that advancing with no water flow would tend to clog the water outlets. But then if there isn't sufficient water pressure to dissolve the material ahead of the nozzle, you end up with the same problem. Ever thought of plumbing a pressure washer and a 0° or 15° nozzle at the tip of the hydraulic drill?

No idea. Wife went while I'm at work. I'll find out tonight.

Probably F400.

Yeah, looking around online, that would be my guess. She doesn't like the bigger machines. Being so small, she has had trouble with seat sensors. Her uncle had a Dixie Chopper that would sputter every time she hit a bump. Plus, we have way too much stuff to mow around and between, so 48" is about as wide as we can go.
