Good evening all. 67ºF for the start, partly cloudy sky, light breeze. Light wind, sky went to overcast, then cleared off, and high temp was 95ºF. Putter to start day, bike ride, lunch, then conserve energy until nap. Mexican for dinner.

Coffee is brewing. 58° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 70° mostly cloudy skies. Found all the items on grocery list. Rest of the day was spent conserving energy. Need to wash car again. One of the pleasures of living on a gravel road. Not much planned beyond that.

Mostly, mowed at home. Need to change camera batteries at lot, they only lasted 7 weeks this time. And I use lithium batteries, not cheap.

59 outside this AM, heading to lower 70's. 94% humidity.

Not much on the agenda. Waiting for tractor return, debating if I should cut grass or not. Pool did not get closed, supposed to be nice for the next 10 days or so. Heck, just sitting by open, blue water with the fall background is nice.

Time for the morning chores. Hope all have a great start to the day and weekend. Be safe, here is to your health!

Maybe the first word on the sign should be NO. And Only put out NO hunting signs otherwise it looks like you permit hunting or really don't care if people hunt. hunting by permission is interpreted as hunting is permitted.

95% of the time I'm not fan of posting land...but road hunters different story ...,since this Mrs. issue I kinda step to one side.

I still get a couple of woodworker catalogs, the ones where almost nothing listed comes from China.
British, German, Japanese
Although I can't swear my Rikon band saw did not come from China.
I'm sure China has a vast woodworking history but we all know it's become the source of cheapest resource
Maybe not a lot longer
Vietnam and Malaysia are coming on strong.

insufficiency. (cancer damage to adrenal glands). That stuff is marvelous, but terrible for you. Endocrinologist has advised me for years
I had to up the dose if seriously sick or have an operation, and I always forget. This anesthesiologist didn't.

I remember absolutely nothing. It's like you blink and it's done. You are smelling the weird oxygen through the nose piece and then
you are clicked off. Thankfully with someone to make sure you wake up. It's no wonder Michael Jackson liked the stuff. If you want to totally turn
the world off, that drug does it. And you survive...when used properly.

I'd prefer to face my day with coffee. Am using my new Outer Banks mug. Had to bring that one inside, would get broken in rv.
but the naval mug from Michigan should be tough enough for rv duty.
I like that style. My uncle was a naval captain and I always remember his big white coffee mugs.
have to be careful with decorative mugs, some don't microwave well, handle gets too hot.
I asked the guy if it was microwave safe. Oh sure, sure. ?...........but it survived three 30 seconds on hi this morning so he was right.

I almost forgot my obligatory tractor pic, they push sand there a lot, must be hard on that equipment, everything rusts like mad

Looks like I need to replace batteries already in my lot camera. Just noticed no pics the last 2 days. Put new in Aug 12, just under 7 weeks ago.

I got all the grass mowed today. it was really tall and thick after the recent rains. amazing how fast it turned from brown to thick green. 3 hrs on the meter today.
There were 2 apples on my northern spy tree, first i've seen on it. I picked them and will try them. They are more a cooking apple.

1:25am owl started hooting near the bedroom window for good half hour,even one of the kitten weren't happy.

Good Morning!

God has given us another chance to get it right (or at least not screw up too badly).

60.8F going to high 70s, sunny all day.

So far, no leaks on the repaired pipe assembly in the hot tub, still leaving everything open for another week or three, just in case.

I haven’t checked the cold water heater yet, but as of last night, no leaks.

Now that I have (apparently) successfully done the anode on our cold water heater, I know it has never been done on my mother’s unit, so that will go on the to-do list…

I did not remove the lower element - I forgot to do it while the tank was empty. So when I drain it again in the spring that will get checked.

Today’s itinerary includes a trip to WallyWorld for some plastic storage bins - I need two so I can attempt to do gravity honey extraction and storage of frames, Mrs needs some for putting summer clothing away. Then work on the hives and remove supers and install feeder boxes, then a trip to woodlot with the dogs, since they haven’t had a walk up the mountain in several days.

That tool chest is beautiful craftmanship. Saw the Gerstner chests costing thousands. Using the wood chests protects from rust

I was a toolmaker/modelmaker for almost 40 years, and did have a Gerstner tool chest. But as a woodworker my plan was always to build my own chest !

I built this chest about 25 years ago. The carcass is black walnut, the drawers are butternut and the diamond inlays are rosewood. The drawer pulls are brass that I turned on a lathe. The drop front iinset is birdseye maple, and I also made the spring loaded locks that hold the front up while in the locked position ! Fun project !

Very nice work — my meager collection of machine instruments reside in a generic metal box…

Here in NC, you can indicate your land is posted by painting a 12” band of purple at eye height around trees along your property line (I forget but I think it is ever 50-100 feet) instead of using actual signs. You may want to check and see if you have something like that up there.
