RNG glad your home survived.

David - you lived in Atlanta? That is where I am from (and go on "vacation" each year). There are different types of fibers. Thicker ones (sometimes even steel fibers are used) are replacing rebar, finer ones are preventing cracking. One of the big advantages of the polymer fiber is that they don't rust-- especially good in places other than Hawaii, where salt gets put down in winter!

First snow today, which is also melting away. Now to go try the car.

The rattle on the roof as I woke up confirmed what the forecast said, which wasn't the usual guarded "> 95% chance of rain", or even ">98%", this is the you-are-going-to-get-soaked one hundred percent probability rain. We often moan if their predictions turn out to be wrong, but I'm not sure that life would be better if they were always correct - as in so many things, hope and occasional pleasant surprises make life interesting.

Freedom, great to hear again how life is going in your part of the world.

26 and it is going to warm up to 28F. Wind N 11 gusting to 30 mph. It is snowing and has been since last evening. I will be plowing this morning.

Eric; I like the sound of a hard rain on my steel roof. It seems to have a calming effect.

RNG; It is good you are home AND everything is as you left it, more or less.

Other than plowing, I've got nothing to do today.

Such welcome news, RNG. Is there any talk about areas that have burned being safer for some period against future fires since the ground fuel is gone? I hope that is the case.

with Brexit is England still part of Europe? I don't want to give Eric indigestion this morning...

wow is it warm here. 72 inside the house and no heaters on. About 60 out now, going up to low seventies and no rain.

Yeah, because helper coming this morning and we have a lot to do. Going to clean out garden shed of all the junk crammed in there so I can
actually use it. Been a storage locker since I moved here. Now that my seedling operation has moved out of my home, I need this area to work.
Electric doesn't work in there, hope the underground line is not wrecked. Already replaced it once; since I have a breaker constantly blowing in the barn panel, I think one of the gfi's is goofy, probably a mud wasp made it home, and has knocked a whole circuit out.

So today is a lot of do I keep it or throw it out. Or find someone to give it to. My late wife had all kinds of gardening stuff and the prior owners of this farm left the garden shed half full with "things you might need". Junk. So everything goes out onto the lawn, some metal shelving goes in and hopefully by end of day it will look nice.
