Good evening to everyone. Started out this morning at a cool low of 42, everything was still wet. Felt very nice. During the ride into town, the temps increased to 65... Amazing how the climate changes coming down out of the mountains. Temps up to 95 in town.

Fire turned around / direction now towards my son's home. No evac orders yet, but he's getting a uhaul and is packing everything tonight...he's way stressed out. Told him his plan was an excellent choice, can always go back if nothing happens.

First day back to work was strange but uneventful. Did more walking / standing than expected and the knee let me know. We'll see how the rest of the week goes. Thanks for all your +thoughts and wishes!

Glad everyone is finally having some nice weather. Prayers sent.

2 day countdown to saying goodby to the place for the last time is coming. Stuff keeps showing up and it goes in one of three piles 1. new house, 2. garage sale, 3. trash. Soon it will be time to just get out, throw everything left in the car and truck grab the cat and dog and head North. The internet/cable/landline package deal was installed today so TBN will not be interrupted. When I asked what the new landline number was, they said if and when I get a landline phone just call my cell and record the number - OOOKay.

The carpet people came this morning and found out the salesman measured wrong so one bed room will have to wait till we are moved in to get carpet. All that planing and timing to get the installers right before the movers was mostly wasted. The one room that was not installed was a room called a "dual owners room" (whatever that means) I just call it the mini-master. It's a room on the other side of the master bathroom from the master bedroom.

Found two more golf balls today and a pile of deer poop in the front yard- Wait till Whipper moves in - she won't let the yard get pooped on by strangers.

A very light mist with a gentle easterly breeze to start the day here. That suits me fine as I will be working on the west wall of the house. The sheep have already been checked and I'm now ready for another day of staring at bricks and mortar, not the most exciting job but it needs to be done. In between hammer blows yesterday I heard a distant cuckoo, a bird that was once a quite common visitor, though now it's melodic calling has become quite rare as most now seem to prefer some other country for their holidays.

Now you got us all guessing what will replace the bridge .... Today your snake boots with a "For Sale" sign, then next week it could be Whipper chasing errant golfers ?

46 right now...high in the lower 60's...unseasonably cool. More rain coming through today.
Long day yesterday and I slept like a baby last night. I have another webinar with the UK customer today, but it's at a more reasonable time (0600 EST)

Glad for that, one that early is enough. Ed

Good morning all, 58 going to 78 with a 30% chance of T-storms. The HP install starts today so heat pump will be off for 2 or 3 days. Next 3 days are supposed to be cooler, glad for that. House won't get so hot and it will be easier on the guys in the attic.

Hope you all have a great day. Prayers sent. Ed

Good morning. Up early, making lists in my head of what to do today, starting with working on my Gravely rider.
Haven't checked the trans oil since it was changed/whole machine rebuilt ten years ago. No leaks but...
Also need to give it a good greasing as I'm headed down around 10am to mow the roadside and some woods on the far side of the property.
Shaft drive garden tractor is tough as nails, and now with R1 tires on the rear, almost impossible to get stuck. Like a VW Bug, engine over rear wheels.
32 years old and with a new Vanguard 23hp engine, stronger than ever. I use it where I'm afraid to take my "nice" mowers.

And when that is done, I hook the orchard sprayer up to the same Gravely and today finally is spray day. Dry weather, yeah. Going to hose down the fruit and nut orchards,
the azaleas in front of the house, still contemplating whether to use it on the veggies. Capt. Deadbug's organic powder (spinosad) has helpied but thinking I may
need to up my game.

As the little old lady at the Master Gardener booth told me four years ago regarding my fruit orchard:
you can't grow that here, too many bugs

Well ma'am, meet my sprayer... Honda GC160 engine starts up fine, crappy plastic fittings on 50 gal sprayer
are a real pain. I carry a 1/4 inch socket wrench with me with the little socket for the hose clamp nuts. Works a lot better than
a screwdriver. One of these days...I'd like to replace every single piece of plastic (except for the tank...) on that sprayer with metal. Nice brass fittings that
won't fall apart, hosing me down with gallons of chemical spray before I can turn off the engine.
Now here's where a little preventative maintenance pays off, tighten the fitting first, uh, dummy...
I've even double clamped the offenders, but holding things together while up to 200 psi is trying to separate parts
seems to suggest a better engineering solution. Like hard fittings.
Bean counters won on this one.
