68F and sunny @ 12:15, supposedly heading up to a high of 76F for the day. Winds out of the NNW @ 5 to 10 mph.

Attic ventilator just kicked on.

Got some more tomato seedlings repotted last night, maybe 8 or so. Kind of cheated though: one peat pot had four seedlings growing in it so I just removed all of them, lock, stock, and barrel and put all four in a larger pot. Will let them grow/root further before I try anything else. Many of these seedlings (in the peat pots) are not deeply rooted ... probably because the soil dries out so fast.

Not sure what all I'll get into today.

Probably move the soil amendments off the bale of peat moss and get that opened up and put in the trash can. Maybe a little clean up in the garage as well.

Then add some peat moss to the latest batch of potting mix in the tote.

At that point I'll be ready to get the last 30 gladiolus bulbs tucked into their grow bag.

Squash and pumpkins will all need watered, along with the 4 bags of glads.

Hopper feeder probably needs refilled. I did notice that the orange half I put out yesterday made it through the night without being molested by the coons.

Relatively light winds would seem to indicate that it might be a good idea to refill the hand pump sprayer and try and to get a little spraying done. The perimeter of the northwest planting bed and around the peach tree on the east side in front are both candidate, along with the oak trees up along the road.

Once I get that peach tree sprayed screened compost can be added around it and some bulbs planted.

Need to tighten the clamp on the hose on the Water Buffalo, fill it, and check for leaks.

Grass down here around the house looks like it could stand to be mowed. Might save that for tomorrow though, when it will be warmer ... ;)

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe Saturday ... (y)

I've used ramps which are ok for cleaning the deck...but too low for changing the blades.

Same here, although I did manage to get the blades changed as well (barely, since the 1/2 impact almost didn't fit.

Was a guy on craigslist here that had a MoJack listed awhile back, think he was asking $150 and it looked to be in good shape (original box, etc)

Still kind of kicking myself that I didn't go for it.

No matter what you use, make sure those wheels are chocked!!

Yep...you missed a good deal assuming it was in good shape and all the parts were there
I've had a Mo-Jack for a few years. IIRC, I bought it shortly after a long time TBNer (can't recall his name) was killed using his FEL to lift his mower. Again, IIRC, the mower was a ZT and the tractor's hydraulics failed. The cause of death was, IIRC, compression asphyxia.
I've used the Mo-Jack once to pull the blades (my impact wrench won't fit using ramps. Even with the Mo-Jack's safety features, I still use jack stands. I think my Z920 commercial ZT weighs around 1200# or more...I sure don't want that on my chest

Mowed the front yard and a bit more. The front yard has, for the most part, little shade so it was dry after yesterday's soaker.
The sides and back are 50%-70% shaded...still a bit wet. It's a bit breezy, so by tomorrow, should be good to mow.

Nice day! About the mid-70's right now...

so, it's been raining / wet for most of May, all of June (so far) ... today was beautiful and the local car cruise club that I belong to planned our first ice cream run for tonight.

I was deciding between these two vehicles ...

The Tracker was getting the opportunity tonight. Then 1 hour to go and ... THUNDERSTORM and HAILSTORM.

The cruise was cancelled, we'll try again next week.

Nice El Camino, we have a 1970.

I really need to learn to weld. My last heavy duty steel mailbox had the hinge rust off.

Finally got this job done. Forgot to take picture of how I use the backhoe to take flagpole down. Basically a loose ratchet strap around BH and the pole, so it holds the top from falling over when I pull it out of the ground sleeve. then holding the bottom, I can drop the boom to lower it some. I’ll check for security cam footage.

three ton chocks on both side Roy
I have all the equipment I need, just a faulty neck which means I can't lay down on my side and work under a deck any more.
Maybe after I get an epidural on my neck I could try it. Not sure that would be overly smart either.
Look to the movies.
Get a winch and a tree.
Just stop it before it gets to high!

fun video Newbury. Why would anyone walk away when the winch was running?
Did he have to visit Mother Nature that badly.

84 degrees on a beautiful sunny summer afternoon.
just hanging out for the afternoon, happy not to go anywhere, going to try to put CBD oil on my sore heel.
It's a lot better if I just stay off it.

bought some new eco paper plates that aren't paper and aren't plastic. Made of sugar cane waste fiber. Compostable.
seems like a step in the right direction.

Good afternoon everyone

A bit foggy this am but once the sun broke through cleared up quickly. Stayed about 74° with low humidity and a light breeze most of the day.

Did a major dump run this morning. Kind of nice feeling to have a little empty spot, wonder what I’ll fill it with lol.

Hummingbirds made an appearance this morning on the honeysuckle, put feeder’s out today.

The pine pollen is covering everything, had to hose the wife’s car before she went to pick up supper (pizza).

Got the back yard all mowed and weed whacked, I’ll take care of the front tomorrow.
Showered and enjoying a cold beer, good day overall.

Enjoy your evening
Stay safe and healthy

Transplanting done! (For the time being). Mulch in place! We're worn out....

Had toasted meatball subs for dinner. Mine had parmesan, mozzarella, and provolone cheese. The wifey had sharp cheddar and swiss on hers. They hit the spot!

Randy, nice El Camino! Way back when, a buddy of mine had a Ford Ranchero. Never really liked it as much as the El Camino. My favorite is the Chevelle SS.

Kyle, our condolences again to the family. Hope everything went well today.
Good looking tomatoes, really good color!

A few pics of the driveway bed that seemed to take forever. The pots on the left will get some flowers when they are ready (still in greenhouse).

And the transplanted shrubs for both sides of the front porch (pic of one side), and the transplants along the backyard fence.

The run of pots with transplants going along the drive / privacy fence. Drip is run all the way to the end. The wooden boxes will get the weeping willow trees when they are ready (maybe by fall). This run will get a row of CMU's to act like a curb, and also form a planting bed like the other side of the courtyard. The block is gonna be some work.... over 100ft long.

Not sure if the finishing of the courtyard or the driveway bed will be next on the to do list. The driveway bed will be easier, so will probably be first. We haven't discussed it yet. I'll basically leave it up to the wifey.....

The semi-completed center bed of the courtyard is coming into color nicely....

One of these days I'll get a drone to do some aerial videos.... gonna be on the Christmas wish list....

Today turn out differently than expected. First our 5% chance of rain turned to 100% and we got 1/10". Then the neighborhood new trail group called (while it was still 70˚ and wanted to know If I wanted to help clear a new trail. Of course by the time we got out there it was 85-90˚.

So after three hours in the heat it was homemade ice cream time. With frozen bananas, cherries and vanilla bean I made a delicious cherry vanilla ice cream.

The courtyard is going to get another narrow bed along the CMU block, then a walkway around the perimeter with a few 'cross over' walkways. They will form a few smaller center beds which will get some ornamental type focal point shrubs. The whole project will take a while.....
