No snow here (I wish we had some), high hit 56°, sunny all day. Now the weather guessers are giving a 20% chance of showers on Thursday... we'll see

Last night, I wasn't sure what I would get into today.... I didn't have any revelations while sleeping and this morning didn't feel rested... So, decided that it would become a "conserve energy day". (I have heard others here contributing to conservation, so figured I should also). I even took an hour nap. I figured anything that I could have done today can easily wait until tomorrow.

So, back to the same predicament..... not sure of what trouble I'll get into tomorrow.... wifey would like a small shelf installed under the kitchen sink, so at least I have some direction.....

Some of the temps you guys are posting gave me chills just sitting here. I like it cool, I like snow, but those temps are way too frigid!

Got the replacement dooknob swapped in today. Moved the older one back to the deck-side door, and put the new one on the driveway side. Yeah me, got something done.

Didn't get any loud guitar playing done this morning, opting instead for some electronic drums. The boy sounded like he didn't approve.

LS, I also went with the conservatory noon nap but then went for the pain for gain knee exercises.

I was able to start on the regular stationary bike today in the gym. The up cycle was knee painful for a while till it got stretched out. I remember that my home PT said that just go back and forth till you can go all the way around because the cycle takes 110˚ knee flexion. I was able to go 22 minutes/3 miles. Then after a few weights I walked for 22minutes/1 mile and then took Whipper for a 3/4 mile nice 60˚ no wind walk on the trail. Trying to get to 3 miles before Valentine's Day.

PJ with all the incentive you so freely give how can you still have occupants?

It is a 350/350 turbo 4bbl. 57K miles. Slow as mud to me. I'm guessing 250 hp? 1974
I have to compare it to wife's '68 Bird 468 w/ oval port heads or my '69 SC/Rambler (Herman Lewis [rip] 406).

Nice rides for sure! Was your MIL’s ‘68 a COPO, or did the 427 get installed later?
I love the Rambler, a friend here had a basically stock one, 390/4 speed. Loved the hood. Is yours a red white and blue one?

15° this morning, 54° now, almost an inch of rain so far, gusts over40 mph, steady 30 mph. Glad I live indoors tonight.
My son in Front Royal has moderate snow, finally got into the low twenties after spending the day in the teens. Getting ice now.
I’m really glad we missed the snow.

My little Massey Ferguson didn’t come with a block heater, but it’s getting one tomorrow. It didn’t want to start in the 19° garage yesterday morning. I had to use a lot of glow plugs and some patience. The dealer I bought it from offered to install one for $250, I can do it for $80. So that was a no brainer.

Good evening all. 23F for the start, clear sky, light breeze. Light wind day, mostly clear sky, and high temp was 53F, DP 16F. Chapel to start day, then make breakfast . Restoke insert after ash groom/removal. Couple large branches came down in golf course and neighbors yard, got the one out of the course, think it will make good firewood, will work on the tomorrow. Did get chain sharpened on saw, will do quality check tomorrow on the branches . Did get nap in, disappointed with Dallas level of play 1st half, and come back short .
Covid update: Cooke 5110 confirmed cases, Montague 3291 confirmed cases, Grayson, 19850 confirmed cases. Cooke 54, Montague 39, Grayson 201, new cases.

15° right now and snowing pretty steadily. High in the mid-30's...
Storm must have started late since we didn't get the 3-5 inches predicted. Only about an inch on the deck railings, so far. Should be getting 5 or more inches before the transition to rain or rain/snow mix.
I can see this one is going to be a sloppy mess. Won't be going out until later today, except to do the walks and deck...I'll do them every couple hours so I don't have a heavy load later

Going to spend some time in neighbors woods. We have decided to move second burn pile to a safer place to burn it.

33, Windy, and snow flurries...should get up to 42...stayed in the low 20s all day yesterday.

Only got 2 inches of snow before the sleet started beating it down, then rain after dark. Ground is a slick white ice patch now.

Our woodstove got more of a workout yesterday then I did. I conserved energy, but can't find it this morning.

I did at least make the early AM dump run and refilled a jug of diesel...the gas station was out of regular gas and mid-grade, but had plenty of off-road diesel and premium gas.

Stay safe out there...will do a reconnaissance walk about after it gets light.

pictures of the Tonga volcano are pretty amazing. The smoke cloud and ash went West heading for Australia and New Zealand.
