Good morning! Got up to get water out of the sink for coffee, and nothing came. -12C, no snow on the ground, so pipes from the public water supply froze. Water from the shower, which comes from our well, worked. But standing there thinking a bit, the well line is buried next to the public line, so I ran out and cut the breaker to the pump. The water pressure may just be coming from what's stored in the pressure tank, and I don't want to risk that when the pressure falls and the pump comes on, it can't pump the water to the tank and burns up...

Today is the last day with daytime temps below freezing. In a couple of days we'll be back to having a muddy mess, but also looking forward to daytime highs next week getting near 50F. Finally I need to get seeds started. Since my wife delivers right around Easter, I think more of the garden work this year falls on me than just my usual making beds with the rotovator and rotary plow.

Good morning everyone.

We started shopping for a new Subaru Forester yesterday. I still consider them to be one of the best snow handling car in their price range and their AWD is a proven performer. Wifey is leaning toward the Forester 2.5 Touring package. Lot's of new and fancy (expensive) gizmos on these new vehicles;

Subaru's twin camera "Eyesight" collision avoidance system is impressive. I'm sure she's worth the extra money.;)

Our daughter wants a bigger car to accommodate all her growing family, so I'm letting her have my Toyota RAV and I will get something a little smaller. I tried the 2018 Subaru XV (Crosstrek) and that looks about perfect for me.

Good morning all. -7C/19F, wind on it's way to 40mph and bringing snow with it.

March roaring in like a lion. The lambs don't like it at all.

I have just gone and cracked a water trough with some over enthusiastic ice removal.
Must sort something better out for next year. Think I said that last year too. :ashamed:

I also broke the sliced-in-half plastic jug I have been using as a trough for the Vietnamese pigs for years. It was quite durable though, holding up to beating out ice in below freezing weather. At least I have a lot of plastic 10 liter jugs in reserve from all the antifreeze and distilled water our leaky cars run through!

David- is that a 3 axis stabilized gimbal?

Once my 2 axis aftermarket gimbal had its grand mal seizure it was dead. I never got the "magic smoke." I never could get it to "hold" its calibration due to its end of service programming chip. Some HobbyKing products or products they market just plain suck.

Good luck.

The local ProMets are now starting to talk about this pending rain event changing over to heavy wet snow in the higher elevations. Some of the modeled snow maps are pretty impressive as to total accumulations. We'll know for certain Saturday ;).

The tractor is ready for whatever happens.

I hope that everyone is having a decent and manageable day today.

Yup, 3 axis

Jay. We cheat a bit, using a BBQ Guru to control my Primo temp.

Had to repair my cracked inner, but didn’t use any cement, just banded it. Seems to be holding well.

49 and about to rain, going to 54.

freedom, sorry about your water situation. We lose water when electric power is lost...well system...no fun, but we usually have a reserve supply, too.

Had a successful trip to farm in southeast Virginia yesterday...hiked the side that is swampy and marked the property line. The solar company paid for a survey when we set up the lease to them...much of the property line is difficult to follow due to vines, tangles and large trees, but there is survey tape still hanging from limbs. I wanted to mark some trees with paint before the survey tape rots off. I'm sore today from how many times I jumped the creek where it was too deep for my boots. I got to thinking, of all the things I do for exercise, long-jumping is not one of them, and certainly uses muscles differently.

Then met with the reps from the power company that bought the solar...nice guys, and my punch list of items of ongoing maintenance of shared space worked out well. They even told me they were going to pay for the long scratch on my truck I got back in September from driving too close to a tall dog-fennel weed-hidden t-post leaning over on "my side" that they had installed for silt fencing. I think I love them. :)

Eric, don't blow away! I saw on our forecast for tomorrow that we are also due some winds up to 40.

wet and warm day today, raining into tonight, then it clears and the winds howl tomorrow.

Good morning and welcome to March.

Randy- One could hang my little 18' sailboat off the rear davits of that vessel. They are beautiful nice lined boats with great accommodations.

You are "kind." I guess that I am "typical of the breed" almost "loon-like":cool: on "occasion" as needed.;).

Actually, I find them very interesting, psych doctors just think differently than most people and I suppose that’s what makes them good at it. Doc brought me a sofa cushion once that needed the leather and foam replaced. He told me; “This crazy fat @$$ comes in every day and bounces on it like a kangaroo in heat!”
