That's a lot of turkeys!
Boo boo having to fill up before winter. I just heard that black bears eat 20,000 calories a day when preparing for hibernation. Remember Thomas, they are Omnivores.....

2 suggestions: Reminding your church family about the full armor of God (because of all the craziness going on)....and/or Giving your everyday stress to God (Put it in his hands).

My daughter is due to play guitar and read scripture tomorrow.

Sounds like a storm game night! Same here....wake up early. Maybe a gallon of coffee in order too. :)

Mostly, glad you got to see the Big Boy! I chased it for half a day last go around. Awesome. I might go see it when it comes through BCS (Bryan College Station), but it's not stopping.

Daughter and I did the yard this morning. I got out at 9 to weedeat, but it was already too hot. Whew!

Sprayed some antbeds, sprayed some weeds.

The guy doing my hay came at 11pm last night, and cut a few acres of hay. I was hoping he'd cut more, and he might have if he'd done it in the day.

I have a lot of tree trimming/cutting/burning to do when it gets cooler.

Speaking of games, I have found out that my wife likes to put puzzles together, and we have spent a few nice quiet evenings together on a 1000 piece puzzle, still not quite finished.

Am I the only one online here that likes sweet pickles??? I buy them, but the rest of my family turns their nose up at them....good for me.

Daughter caught a nice bass in the pond yesterday.

Popgadget, many a home get burned up from something like that. Fretless.....cool!

Prayers for our team, for cures and divine healing for cancer, heart disease, and mental illness....and for our country.

Love sweet pickles.
Love jigsaw puzzles, just don’t have time right now.
Thanks for suggestions.

Many times on TBN I have mentioned my Dad; he passed away last Sunday at 85. He was a very proud career Air Force man having served 22 years; and was also a Viet Nam vet. He was a good man...

Sorry for your loss. Prayers for the family.

We ALWAYS have a jar of them in the refrigerator, but I'll admit they do seem to last a long time. I also use a little of the juice from the jar when I make deviled eggs.
@Kyle_in_Tex and @Bird have you tried the jalapeño bread and butter pickles at HEB?

Pretty dang good!

Almost 6 hours seat/flail time. About 3 hours on my last rough area, so that’s all caught up.
Remaining time was with Sophie doing what we think of as the lawn area. Don’t remember when it was so thick and high craftsman couldn’t handle it in a single pass. So as of now all mowing is caught up.

Have a jar of Famous Daves (spicy sweet) and a jar of Kosher Dills.
Many years my Mom made Bread and Butter pickle, a sweet pickle.

Poured first cup of hot coffee. 51° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 78° with mostly sunny skies. Got shop projects done. Then helped neighbor clear tree that fell on his TT. That gave me some seat time. Going to Port Huon to visit my Uncle and Aunt today.

72 and dark misty clouds...only going to 80...another big wind blew, but we only got a brief shower...maybe our turn is today.

Prayers said, Steppenwolf.

Ken, hope your hives are better...no fun.

Kyle, my wife likes puzzles, too. I've given her several as gifts, including some fun ones where you solve a mystery from the puzzle after reading the accompanying story in a booklet. Then they are circulated to family/friends.

Apis update: only a few bees hanging around the tree.

I'm not a pickle eater, but do love sliced cucumbers in a bowl of vinegar and pepper.

Good Morning.
It’s 65 and only going to 80 today with partly cloudy skies.

Yesterday was mostly inside. Got the finish on two speakers, fixed a Bain Marie that wasn’t getting cold at the restaurant, tinkered with the recordings from Friday night’s rehearsal, then got a call from a friend who’s AC crapped out. I did get him running, but he needs a new system.

Not sure about today, I should build the crossovers for the speakers so I can do the final assembly tomorrow or Tuesday. But I might just kick back and relax for a while.

Good morning, 19C/ 66F with little chance of rain. I had planned on doing a bit of outside painting later, except the wind is up and bringing with it lots of weed seeds. Never mind, gives me more time to help my wife get our front garden into looking less like a building site.

Steppenwolfe, my condolences on loosing your dad.

Not keen on the flavour of globe artichokes, so pleased my wife now only grows them for the bees.

Good Morning All.
Sorry Ron, I draw the line at horseradish.....a very little goes a really long way in my book.

Worked on the HPX Gator until about 10pm last night. Installed new fuel pump. Drained coolant and replaced water pump gaskets. Re-installed muffler after pulling off the spark arrestor end cap and making sure it was not plugged. There is still a little bit of gas in the oil still. Still not running great...yet. Need to bleed coolant system, take off carb with fuel line attached to see if overflow is occurring.

Good Morning!!!! 79F @ 6:00AM. Plentiful sunshine. Near record high temperatures. High 109F. Winds SW at 5 to 10 mph.
The air is still pretty hazy with smoke, AQM 126 outside and 42 inside. Most of yesterday, the winds were out of the south, but with only a 2-5 mph breeze, it wasn't enough to keep the smoke at bay. Last night at around 10, they swung around to come out of the northwest, as they do most nights, and we have more smoke in the air. By 9 or 10 this morning they'll go back to southerly winds, maybe with a little more strength and it'll clear up a little more, but who knows?

Artichokes always seemed like more work to eat them than you got back nutritionally, Eric, but that blossom is a pretty one.

Once in a while I'll slather a sweet relish on a hotdog, but I miss a Claussen Kosher Dill spear with my sandwich at lunch when the grocery store runs out, which they seem to do regularly now. Not so sure about horseradish on a pickle, though. Maybe get the same effect sprinkling wasabi powder on one of the Claussens?

CV19 numbers are up from what they were six weeks ago here, but have dropped a bit from two weeks ago. Still below 50% vaccination rate, and as it's always been, most of the infected are in the 18-24 age group. Delta leads the pack, but I was surprised they've found a half dozen or so variants so far. Very few deaths, especially when compared to the start of the pandemic. No shortage of hospital beds/ventilators, either, and I hope it stays that way.

Looks like one of the trunks on a live oak up near the top water tank has fallen, a victim of the hot dry weather and fire damage. Think I'll take a page out of your book, Kyle, and wait for cooler weather before I drag it and several others that have suffered the same fate over to the wood lot.

And speaking of the top tank, my short rounds of daily pumping have it a little less than half full. I did get a pressure gauge installed in the drain line to see what kind of head it had, but get no reading. It was one I had rattling around in a drawer, and worked fine with air pressure, but maybe it didn't like water. Got one on the way from McMaster to see if that's the cure.

Looks like there was room for three under that parachute, Ken, but then you wouldn't have the picture if you'd have been along for the ride. Can't blame you though, that looks like a long way up there.

Made some changes to the network here last week, losing connectivity for some of the e-devices as a result. Chased down a few of them yesterday, resetting the passwords and making sure they were on the correct network. The camera I'd left running up at the top tank wasn't working when I went to bed Friday night, but yesterday morning it seemed to have sorted itself out and is still working. I'll add another 900' of cable this morning to simulate the run all the way out to the cul-de-sac and see if it still works, and give it more time to fix itself.

Still no word from the neighbor on fabbing up a rock screen, so I'll start gathering up stuff today to make a start on my own. I have a chunk of chain link fence I use as a drag that'll be a good start on a screen, and just need to find some pipe or angle iron for a frame, then a bit more for some legs. It won't be as robust as a commercial job, but it won't cost several thousand bux, either.

Hope everyone enjoys what's left of their weekend...
