good morning all. 24 going up to mid 40's today, should be a nice day.
Electrician coming this morning to give quote on upgrading electrical service to 200amps from 100 so I can install a/c in this
little cottage. Really don't want to go to window units so trying to work a deal with landlord that if she pays for upgrading the electrical service,
I might split half the cost of hvac system with her. Have no idea what adding a/c to an existing hot air system will cost and whether mini system which I assume
means running more piping will be less expensive. This is all predicated on my getting a five year lease, which she was fine with.

going to cut off my beard this morning, went to grab clippers and saw the charger plug had fallen out, no juice. Oh well, later today. Warmer weather coming in and I'm happy
to celebrate approaching Spring with less hair.

Morning all!

15 here going to a sunny 35. Looks like we have a week of above normal temps coming after today!
Need to get out and do more branch cleanup before the ground is to wet. Not much else planned for the day.

Furnace guy coming tomorrow to flush out the old antifreeze from the lines. When it gets old it starts plugging up all the one way valves and vents. Thinking on draining the in the floor heat in our sun room and shutting it off. We can change out the antifreeze for plain water if we do that.
It will still be available when/if we sell the house.

Hope everyone stays safe and healthy!

Good Morning!!!! 50F @ 4:00AM. A mix of clouds and sun this morning followed by increasing clouds with showers developing this afternoon. High near 55F. Winds SSE at 15 to 25 mph. Chance of rain 60%. Higher wind gusts possible.

Split two more pallets of fire wood yesterday, then stacked the pallets into the container. I think there's room for 16 more. Need to get busy making more hoops, but not until it stops raining later this week.

Did some more reading on the gate opener, and there's a reset procedure I'll try later this morning. Also gonna take another shot at getting the keypad programmed.

I also want to rake out the burn pile so the coming rain can put out any remaining embers.

Hope everyone's week gets off to a great start!

Good morning
It’s 23 and not he brilliant day without a cloud in the sky. High of 43 is forecast.

Yesterday was a lazy day. My mechanical contractor buddy came by and we came up with a plan to and some ductwork in my basement. I finished the entire basement about 25 years ago and it was never as comfortable as it could be in the winter. AC is fine, but some rooms were colder than the rest of the house in heat mode. We came up with a fix some simple that I feel bad about taking so long to get around to it.

Drew I would think that the simplest way for you to gate AC would be to add a coil to the supply duct from your furnace and a condenser outside. If your furnace is in the basement, it would not be a complicated or intrusive operation. You might even consider putting in a heat pump, as they don’t add much over a straight AC condenser, and would give you another heat source and a hedge against oil prices if they skyrocket.

Mostly- I generally mix music that was recorded here, some ordinal, some cover songs.

Still not vaccinated, but expanding my attempts.

Prayers for Bupps and Alien.

41F going to 72 maybe. Time to go to work. A guy wants me to drill through a stainless 10-32 bolt with a small drill, and then put a .008" wide o-ring groove on the bottom of the threaded end. I might change up his design a bit.

Ron, I have a friend with 2 Honda Vtwin 750's, I know they are chain drive. He uses 1 for parts, and commutes 110 miles round trip daily.

Prayers for our team and our country.

Good morning! 37˚F heading to the 70s, sunny, light south wind. Ron I did have backups on the phone and everything transferred. I guess the specific phone was paired to my devices not the back-up. I don't know but every thing works now.

I reduced my monthly phone bill by about $30. Now I looking to reduce my internet monthly. has anyone had any experience with one of these? MetroSMART Hotspot™ - Wi-Fi Access on The Go

Billy hope the den is now unusable. Glad you are getting vaccine, sorry about drive
I forgot to add that when I was finished cutting up the tree, I pulled the firewood rounds back from the den holes so the foxes could use it again, if they wanted. Here they are a couple of years ago.

Was 24 went I went out this morning, getting up to 57 with sun and contrails. mid 70 by end of week, then cold again.

Like most of you, only day after vaccine reaction is soreness in my arm.

Don, would that plastic house be a fire hazard? I didn't get audio on that video, so not sure what the material was.

Rick, great photo of the snow/ice....may never see it like that again.

RNG, I need to split and stack my firewood today, too.

I get 2 bars with the new service and new phones in the valley here which is 100% better than the old ones and I no longer need the M-Cell.

Well send it back then! No refunds.
I have absolutely no use for it, but I couldn’t resist. LOL

Good morning, no where near as cold as Check in Toronto, though the weak sun is not making much impression on the ice in the weather bucket.

Ron, that must be a great feeling to be able to safely visit family again.

Digging out a gatepost that has rotted off always seems to be a lot of effort. A few days ago I welded up some scraps of steel to go around 3 sides of a stump, thinking that I would then only need to dig down say 18 inches, screw in 4 bolts and pull out the post with the loader. I had drilled and tapped the steel for M12 bolts , though when I rummaged in the shed I couldn't find any long enough, instead I tried using coach screws. Utter failure, the coach screws bent and pulled through the rotten timber, I ended up digging down almost 4' on two sides before I could get it out. Never mind, I'm sure it won't be long before the next post snaps off and I can try again

Actually Eric, I am up at the cottage, 2.5 hours NW of Toronto. (Have been up here “escaping” from Covid for a year now, working from “home”). Toronto is a LOT warmer, and going up to 15 degrees Celsius this week (59F)! Dramatic changes from night to day around here. Great for the upcoming Maple syrup season!
