If the response to sign up and put up the deposit every where is the same as has been reported here,
that is one heck of pre release interest.

I had to wonder if the paid sign up was a way to gauge needed investment in the ground stations. Kinda curious how those are figured as for location. I have 2 local friend signup same day I did.

Thanks for feedback from your friend, RNG. They have an app to check location. Haven’t done it yet.

I got a Visible account to attempt to tether to router with hopes to limp thru until Skylink.

I looked at signing up for that starlink internet service, than saw $500 for equipment plus $99 a month, thought that was high so didn’t do it.

Not compared to alternatives.

Mostly, got pics back. Deleted the TBN app and reloaded. Looks to have worked.

good morning all.
Light snow all night ending soon. Looks like snow line is around Toppops place right now.
Appears to be about three inches out there, enough for me to shovel walkway but hope I can avoid the snowblower.
Temperatures mostly staying below freezing for next week.

finally made a haircut appt for tomorrow morning. Looking pretty ratty, not only longer hair than I'm used to but
after chemo hair coming in curly in spots, particularly my beard and I'm over the limit for how wild man I want to look...

did I read here where someone had a cortisone shot in their shoulder? I've got increasing pain in my rotator cuff where it's hard to put
coat on any more. Wonder if that's another shot I need...

my internet speed is stupidly fast on download but too slow on upload. 224 down, 5 up. Now that's a throttle job...

my siblings have been stone quiet after I told them I booked a cruise. They think I'm nuts but none of them have gone on cruises
and have no idea what the realities are. They also over worry about me after the last year, but what that taught me is life waits for no one and you'd
better get back in the saddle if one can.

Good morning, 52 here and more, yet more rain to come. Power plants, I've been working in them since 1988. First at SRP in Aiken, SC, then Santee Cooper, a small excitation company and now with Emerson, in the excitation division. All I do is voltage regulator retrofits, service, startup and commissioning work. I travel. I have a 4 month, 4 unit job just south of Milwaukee this spring, 4 - LM 6000 gas turbines. The plant I was at yesterday is a Santee Cooper plant in Georgetown, SC about an hour from me. They are having issues with getting voltage/VARS as low as they would like at night when they come down to minimum load. It will be an ongoing science project.

I've been collecting vintage cars for years that are in all different levels of disrepair. The 2 in this conversation are a 67 Chevelle SS 396, 4 speed and a 77 F150 4wd pickup. I've always wanted a Farmall 140 to garden with. I have a large farmer friend that leases my row crop on my farm and he happened to have 4 - 140s. One of them is as good as the day it was bought and is original. After heartache and discussion we agreed that I would get that 140 and another not as good one for the 2 vehicles and parts needed to restore. I got rid of a bunch of what my wife refers to as junk and got something I have wanted forever. I also made a ton of room in my shop and sheds. I am stoked beyond belief. All I have left to do is get the cars there and pick up the tractors. I have been hauling parts to him for a couple of days. I can't get the tractors until I get my new trailer that's being built so it may be a few days before I can post up some pics.

Poured first cup of coffee. 7° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 22° with sunny skies most of the day. Got my second covid-19 shot yesterday. Feels like it's going to be a conserve energy day.

Good Morning All.

34 outside this AM. Slight drizzle. Yesterdays snow event missed us by just a few miles. Todays snow event looks like it will miss us too. Very odd to see on the map and weather reports. I am OK with it.

Need to scrounge up some more firewood today. Using last of the seasoned wood.

Hope all have a great day. Be safe and stay healthy my friends.

Good morning! 17 now, allegedly going to 28 later. It is snowing again. Got some last evening too. The cold weather forecast for Sunday and Monday keeps getting more moderate. I am ok with that.

Got home yesterday, FedEx didn稚 brave the driveway....the left the Chewy order beside the mailbox....I swear whatever my wife orders from Chewy is filled with lead.....those boxes are heavy. Got the box to the house..made the cats happy.

Probably should get moving...

Everyone stay safe out there

35 and drizzle, rain and much lowered snow forecast...at least freezing rain wasn't mentioned (until tomorrow).

Rip. I'm getting low on seasoned wood, too. Even the dead oaks I'm cutting are greater than 35% moisture, according to my meter, while the nice seasoned stuff ranges from 1% to 6%. I've been mixing them.

Kyle, prayers said for your son and family.

workinonit, a '77 4WD F-150 sounds pretty good.

My wife and I had a real nice hike in the state park yesterday...zero people and a few flakes of snow.

TurboTax promised their system would be revised by today, so hoping to get back to taxes and roasting coffee today. My fears were confirmed when I saw two different skunks on camera...one with a pure white tail and mostly white back, the other almost all black...that explains how so many skunk digs are popping up. I see the big coyote every night on the cam, so am guessing they aren't fans of skunk tartare.

Good morning, the temperature is -4°F and the high will be 5.

A dump run is in the cards for today as well as a short trip to town, then conserve energy.

Stay safe all

Good Morning
It’s 25 and light snow, about 3 inches or so overnight. Supposed to end soon with a high of 35.

Yesterday was a shop day, a little bit of cleanup and some computer tinkering. I had an old computer fail that ran win XP. It was mostly retired, but the one task that it did well was to transfer files from removable hard drives used in a 24 track recorder. There was an enclosure with a power supply and rack that received the drive caddies, and connected to the computer via fire wire. That was the last 32 bit machine that I had running, and the only one with a FireWire interface. The hard drives are IDE with a proprietary format that requires sector level access to read them. So the project was to get a USB interface from the drive enclosure and to get software to read the drives and save the tracks on them as wav files that would run on a 64 bit machine. Took some tinkering and digging through the old parts stash, but was ultimately successful. It’s a bit odd to think about a 24 track rack mounted hard disk recorder as old outdated technology, but that’s the reality, and like any other old machine, it’s rewarding to keep it running.

Last task of the day was an Airport Authority Zoom meeting after dinner.

Got another speaker order, so after snow cleanup today, it will be another shop day. I’ll be cutting wood, and if the grills come back from the powder coated as scheduled, putting the finishing touches one that got built last week.

Still no word from County on Vaccine, but found out that local grocery store pharmacy is doing them. I’ve got to go online and try to get an appointment.

I just got 11M down and 4M up, and that is good for anything I do.

I’ve had hughesnet and Exede satellite internet, and the mobley outperforms both.

Haven’t gone down to see how much snow, but traffic seems to be going ok from the sounds from the road. I do live on a snow emergency route, so they keep it clear pretty good.

29°

Good morning all

13 now highs in the upper 20’s with some sun later on.
All the driveways got cleared yesterday and spent some time pushing back the snow banks more for fun than need.

Ron - your squirrels sure look well feed and dressed for the weather! Great pics I look forward to seeing them. Also good news on the second shot.

Stay safe and healthy
Enjoy your day everyone

Good Morning!!!! 50F @ 4:00AM. Cloudy with periods of rain. High 57F. Winds SE at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 100%. Rainfall near a half an inch.
Beautiful day yesterday, clear skies and mid 60s temps. Won't see that for a while, with mixed days of rain on the way. I'll take it.

Hope the new cellular plan works out, David, and SpaceX launches continue to go smoothly.

Looked into All-O-Matic and US Automatic gate openers yesterday, and neither offer direct sales. I have a friend with an All-O-Matic connection, so hoping that works out. Getting tired of using a key on the gate lock.

Installed the repaired decoupler on the van yesterday, now the wait while the front diff is upgraded.

Also installed a Pat's Quick Hitch on the M62, but need to contact them today to see about a pair of missing u-bolts. Made them work anyway on the new box blade, which seems to cut very well. A little too well because with the quick hitch in place, the hydraulic top link doesn't have enough throw. There's a receiver hitch adapter on the old box blade that can be modified to act as an extension back toward the tractor, so I'll be looking into that today.

Got the mounting holes drilled into the new box blade for three pieces of railroad track/ballast. Still thinking about best, and safest, way to get the three pieces stacked back on there without pinching fingers or toes, or killing my back.

Hang in there, gang, Friday's comin'!

TurboTax promised their system would be revised by today, so hoping to get back to taxes and roasting coffee today.

This morning I found an email from late yesterday afternoon from TurboTax saying that my return had been accepted by the IRS and refund should arrive within 3 weeks.
