David,
that pulley may be held on by something that vibrated loose/out and it just fell off.
Unless the bearings failed and the whole thing went south.
Luckily not too expensive to fix. good luck with it.
maybe if you sweat enough on it it will fix itself...
went downstairs for my first cup of coffee and it was 80 degrees out already. Yuk.
I was going to look at motorhomes today but it's just too hot.
let's see, bills are paid, lawn is mowed, garden is picked, what can I do today to get in trouble?
maybe I'll work in the garage today organizing tools, which because I have multiple locations (a remote farm) I have multiple
tool boxes and the wrong stuff gets in them and I wind up always looking for something that is somewhere else... I'm sure this sounds familiar
to some.
The owner of the farm I tend is putting a new apartment in on the second floor of where I store all my equipment. That means everything had to come out, some made it into the main barn, but both my tractors are sitting outside, plows, whatever, covered but rusting away. Drives me nuts, I hate rust.
The new concrete floor is in, but of course the contractors stored all their stuff in "my" space, so I'm still outside. About once a month I've gone through with a can of WD40 or equiv and sprayed away on the outdoor equipment, and that seems to help.
Well, it will be nice parking on concrete when they are all done. Apparently the owners aren't going to live in the apartment for awhile, so hopefully I'll have my storage space for awhile longer. If not, I have to move. I've wanted my own place for years now, can afford it, ready to move, but with a sick wife and an elderly MIL nearby, I'm stuck. simply have to make the best of things, but I constantly think of what fun this work and sweat would be if it were my own place. Soon, must be patient. I've been living in suburbia for sixteen years, and oh do I miss the fields, the woods, everything I am used to, and grew up with. I'll get there, likely in southern VA or northern NC, plenty of TBN'ers down that way to guide me to the right place.
Everyone once in a while I bring my equipment trailer home to the house, with some kind of farm equipment on it, to work on, and the neighbors just look and are utterly puzzled. I think some have never seen a plow before.
stay cool and safe today.
btw, nice melon Larry. And FarmGirl, will you please stop talking about peeling off your clothes. you've got dozens of us reaching for our heart medicine in anticipation, haven't had this much excitement in years!
