Here’s the flow on my flow meter. This unit has 3 speed settings, the old didnt, so I can adjust it some. Running on medium, will have to look up what the old flow rate was.

I have little experience with a closed loop system, but have done hundreds of open loops. On those, flow is adjusted to achieve a 7~10 degree delta between incoming and out going water.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 26° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 36° with partly sunny skies. Books are done. They are all in one bookcase with 3 shelves. Still need to do something with all the vases that are on top of the 2 bookcases I cleaned books out of. Then conserve energy.

Don, interesting info. Just the mention of Snows make me Drool.

Drew, I do not burn wood in my stove anymore. But did fire it up with the gas log. Sure is nice to have that constant warm heat. Caught my forced air furnace putting out cold air yesterday. Had a error message that "sensor detect flame at burner when no flame should be present". Going to be anther visit from my furnace guy.

Mostly, you got one of those canvas side covers for your golf cart? How well do they work.

Roy, thanks for the reminder on Pearl Harbor. Never forget.

Buppies and Wngsprd, how come you are getting snow and I have nothing up here?

Riptides, good luck on septic system. Mine is over 60 years old. It works so I am not calling anyone out on it except to have it pumped out every 5 years.

Everyone stay safe and healthy.

Good Morning All.

Good morning. It’s 25 here heading to the low forties. Clear skies and breezy.

I was able to dodge most shop cleaning yesterday by helping son with some tree work. He had three eight inch caliber trees about 40 feet tall to take down as they were a threat to his overhead utility lines. It was a perfect job for the Makita cordless chainsaw. I was very impressed, the cut speed was excellent, and I was able to fell all three and cut all them up into fourteen inch lengths without swapping batteries. I had two out of four bars left one one battery and one bar on the other. Prior to this, I made about a dozen cuts on a twelve inch log. I would definitely recommend the saw to anyone, especially if they already have 18 volt Makita tools and batteries.

I cleaned out the charcoal tray in the smoker and reloaded it with charcoal and chunks of apple wood in preparation for firing it up tomorrow afternoon. I’ve got 25 pounds of pork shoulders to go into it.

Today has me headed to Hilton Head again, gonna be a slow trip down with over 100kt headwinds forecast. Be nice on the way home though. Maybe I’ll get home in time to do some shop cleaning.

Good morning, the temperature is 14°F and the high will be 23. Wind N 11 mph. Mainly sunny.

I need to take the Jeep and trailer about 2.5 hours south of me to pick up my new rock bucket.

I will NEVER forget what those sneaky Japs did to the U.S. in Pearl Harbour.

Today has me headed to Hilton Head again, gonna be a slow trip down with over 100kt headwinds forecast. Be nice on the way home though.
With my luck then I would probably would be facing the 100kt winds both ways.

Have a safe day all.

Good Morning!!!! 56F @ 3:30AM. Abundant sunshine. High 74F. Winds N at 10 to 15 mph.
Rain is still in the forecast for next Sunday, and now a little more on Tuesday as well.
And PG&E cancelled the power shutoff here even though the NWS has us all under a Red Flag Warning.
Enjoyed some time around a camp fire last night with mild temperatures and only light breezes, but made sure it was out with a loooooooong drink from the garden hose before I retired for the night. Since then, some 30MPH gusts have come through, so it was time well spent.

I've read that early in the pandemic, anyone that tested positive for CoVid-19 when they died was added to the CoVid-19 death toll, even though the disease might not have been the cause. Hard to justify doing that in cases of accidental drowning, auto accidents, and such, but there it is. I think I heard on last night's news that the daily death rate nationwide is in the thousands, and with three weeks left in 2020, this years total count could still exceed previous years.

December 7th, 1941, a day that will live in infamy.

I do still have that model of endoscope, Bill, and still use it. It's a year old now, and while the 1080P image is good, more pixels are always better. Now I see there are 5.0 Mega pixel models available in the fifty dollar range, and the older 1080P ones can be had for as little as twelve dollars. Do a search for "endoscope" at Amazon and be prepared for an over abundance of choices. My repeat purchases have been driven by the size of the 'scope, trying to get something that will fit down the bore of a .22, then a .177, caliber barrel. Not quite there yet in the case of the 17, but I keep looking. Got stung by one seller who advertised the size of the lens, which doesn't include the added diameter contributed by the LED lights, so be careful if size matters to you.

Good luck with the inspections, Mike. At least you'll know where you stand when they're finished.

Glad you got some rain, Doug. How have the wildfires been this year?

That steam cleaner really did a number on the floor, RS. Might have to look into one of those...

Glad to help, Jim. Having a real transfer switch and a permanent installation will take most of the pain out of using a generator. I was back feeding a sub panel, and was always nervous about making sure that the main breaker was open before I started the generator. Not having electricity 24x7 didn't turn out to be that big a deal, even at night. And I still keep Luci lights scattered around the house charging on windowsills, just in case. Wish I'd known about Baldor generators when I was shopping; they make just about the best electric motors you can buy and that probably carries over to their generators as well.

I did get a form letter type response from my note to Tractor Supply, but no real action yet. Maybe this week, but probably won't impact my decision to avoid doing business there in the future.

Thought I'd be working on the van's new oil pan yesterday, but looking at it again, decided I'd better get the engine mount swapped out first. I wasn't looking forward to that because it almost certainly meant modifying the new parts, but it didn't turn out to be as bad as it could have. I had to mill a notch for the dip stick, and trim off a tab that was hitting the muffler, but I was able to reuse some mounting holes and drilling some new ones wasn't that big a deal, though it did cost me a broken drill bit. Today it's on to the oil pan, which not only gets shortened, but the bung for the drain and dipstick tube both get moved. Gonna have to be real careful with the welding and/or brazing so the lip on the pan doesn't warp and leak.

Hope everyone's week gets started off on the right foot!

Is it still being over reported, what has changed?

Here's a tube from the Illinois Department of Health stating that everyone that dies with covid it is counted as a covid death even if they died directly from another cause.

Don't get me wrong this is a very bad flu, very contagious, and by definition a pandemic and should not be taken lightly by any age group or sensationalized by the media or deaths counted in a way to inflate the numbers.

Good morning! 36˚F heading to the high 60s, clear skies. A good day to wash the windows.

You do realize that trying to be factual and reasonable is not allowed,
especially by the various media.

Good morning all, 27 going up to 40, sunny and coldest day yet, ground is a bit crunchy.
Got GFI outlet done in garage so I can use for outside xmas lights without lighting myself up.
Moved around some firewood and cleaned up the main fireplace. Need to get chimney cleaned it looks like.
Did some more rewiring around the garage, need to figure out some weirdness since the hot for the one outside fixture seems to now be switched on/off with the inside lights. a trace did not find the wiring direct, need to get one of those 2 part tone devices to trace out.

Looks like it'll warm up before the big storm hits us this weekend, more rain...
But wife made cookies, so all is well with the world. These cookies are called rocks, like choc chip but with raisins and nuts.

PopG - what did you use for the ballast box? the cover came out nice.
Randy - we had the swale completely full up but no overflow Saturday. Hope your pond lowers a bit. We only had 2" of rain.
RS - in my first house they had retiled over original tile and put back in original drain which was too short, what a mess that was to fix-but came out nice. But it was pretty obvious as to the damage in that case. floor was flexy!
Drew - person along the road to Peddlars village has a robot lawn mower- small lot and small mower. Would take all summer to do a big area. but looks cool.
Rip - hope it's just a cleanout and not a replace on septic -
Buppies -30 small trees, sounds like a lot of work. I'm happy to keep it down to 2-3 for a day.

Stay safe and be well

ugh...

Just looking at the tank, which appears to have collapsed in certain spots, still digging.... we are looking at a 1920 system.

That's my opinion, as the concrete I just looked at, looks just like the type, composition, color, stones, that the barn silo is made up from.

More digging tomorrow.

Off to other things.

I thought the process for reporting death by COVID to be under the control of the CDC. No media influence there.

Toppop, there's snow coming up the Chesapeake Bay.
Only a good day for a hardy fisherman.

Never boated in snow, not high on my list. Would rather go charter
a power boat again and tour the BVI's.
It's past time for another Bitter End t shirt.

Of course I bet boating in light snow would be fun and very pretty.
Need a New England pilothouse style boat for that. With a good heater.
Late Fall boating in the Chesapeake is really pretty. Very few boats out, just you
and the birds. And now the snow.

Christmas tree up, checks written, Christmas letter not quite ready to print.

Take the Ridgeline in for service this morning, about to turn 6k miles and Maintenance light on.

Swing by HD while in town.

Zoom Happy Hour this afternoon.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

28 before midnight, up to 35 by daybreak, 38 now, very overcast. 80% chance of snow today with no accumulation. Probably put up the main tree today and finish some odds and ends for Christmas decorations.
My brother is calling so I’d better go.

32F and cloudy @ 11:15, headed up to a high of 35F.

Deer feeder empty this morning ... so someone has found it ...

Squirrel feeder about 75% full.

Poured some phosphoric acid into the the water in the old toilet tank and let it sit overnight to work on the rust accumulation, still needs a little brush work to knock off what's left. That and some more work on the bowl to remove deposits just above the water line.

Once we get it cleaned up, drained, and pulled it will eventually be headed over to our local Habitat for Humanity's ReStore so someone can reuse it if there is a need ... assuming that there is someone who's looking for a yellow toilet ...

After that, the remainder of the vinyl flooring and wood trim around the toilet will be pulled up and any remaining mastic removed, possibly along with further wallpaper removal, and some framing for the shower niches and seat.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day.

That tube is not from the Illinois Department of Health - it's from some rando guy ... with 39 subscribers to his YouTube channel ...

About that Minnesota Senator ...

Are CDC Guidelines for Reporting COVID-19 Deaths Artificially Inflating Numbers?

Again, this tube is not actually from the CDC or C-SPAN - it's from "Thrivetime Show: Business School without the BS" ...

Pretty safe bet that the folks over at Thrivetime are pushing their own agenda - which judging from the rest of the offerings on their channel - contains a pretty serious rightwing tilt ...

Is it still being over reported, what has changed?

Here in Butte County, the Health Department only counts cases where CoVid-19 actually contributes to the death:

"COVID deaths are those with COVID as a contributing or causal factor on the death certificate. Deaths in COVID positive persons without COVID listed as a cause or contributory cause of death are not included."

I don't know if criteria have been standardized at the national or international level, but it seems to me that they should be.
