when I was a volunteer fireman many years ago the older brother of the fire chief was a little disabled and definitely epileptic. And he loved hanging around the firehouse.
All was well until the new strobe lights came in. He had a major grand mal seizure in the station house and that was that,
he had to stay in the lounge/tv room when the siren went off and the drivers tried not to turn those lights on until the bottom of the ramp.

lawn care guy cancelled out due to impending thunderstorms, so I slipped out to just mow the end of the lane, and three hours later as I was finishing most of the lawn the heavens opened up.
Actually, the first time I saw lightning in the distance game called back to barn.

thanks for tips on blueberries. I can't eat them fast enough, so will freeze them tonight. I guess it's always a good idea to get as much air out as possible.

Sorry to hear retirement is still boring for you DABSGT. Are you not trying to fill your time, or trying too hard ? I am guessing you were not really ready to give up working. Perhaps there is some voluntary work nearby that you could now take up.

With 2 homes there are plenty of projects to stay busy I guess just not mentally challenging.

The first lambs of the year went off to market this morning. Although it is a good feeling when you have done your little bit towards feeding the population, there is always a little tinge of regret when the time comes for one of your favorites, particularly one with distinctive markings, to leave (bet you can guess which one wngsprd).

Had a very enjoyable visit to a shooting club last night. Due to my creaking neck, I had already decided that my days for prone .22 competitions at 25,50 & 100 yds were over, but they did their best to encourage me to take up something else - either gallery rifle (standard lever action .38/357), lightweight sporting rifle or black powder rifle/revolver. I was surprised to find that even pistol shooting was on offer. Our pistols got banned a long time ago, but it seems some bright spark took a close look at the exact wording in the legislation and persuaded some manufacturers to extend the barrel, fix a counterbalance to the grip, thus extending the overall length and voila, a perfectly legal pistol !



Not sure which of them are for me, but the atmosphere was good so I intend to go back and try a few different things to see if I can re-ignite my competitive side.

Kyle, sorry to hear work is slow. Can you make any jigs or anything to relieve the boredom and speed things up for the next job that comes in ?

64F cooler night for sleeping upper 70's for high little less humidity.maybe pop up shower later on.
Nice 2 hour rain last evening for the gardens.

Well back to grind for half day also tomorrow than 2 days of vacation,fingers cross dirt work guy shows up Thursday or Friday like to finish that project.

Poured 3rd cup of coffee. 56° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 74° with sunny skies. Kids got me Yeti thermos cup for my birthday. It's smaller than my current cup. It takes 3 fills to get my allotment of coffee for the day. Alarm guy is suppose to be here today. That should fill my day.
