Good morning!!!!

Good morning to all! Low of 41, going up to 70 today. No more rain for the next week, total for this storm was just over a 1/2". Still in severe drought, actually getting worse even with the little bit of rain we did get.

Max is confirmed to have an ear infection, both ears, now on antibiotics for a week. Vet said there has been an increase in the number of cases of animals getting ear and respiratory infections due to the high heat, dryness, and wind kicking up dust.

Today I will take a moment of silence for the loss of life at the Twin Towers. I lost some of my EMS brothers and sisters, some were friends. A sad day for sure. We will not forget!

Today, I will finish up on the neighbors BH thumb, completion was delayed due to the weather.... then for a little fabrication time... I need to mount training wheels on my grandson's bike. The are a couple problems doing so, the bike has a 6 speed sprocket on the rear axle, so the derailleur interferes where the bracket would go. The other problem is the axle bolts aren't even long enough to bolt the brackets on to begin with! I'm going to fab up some brackets to bolt to the frame in front of the rear wheel. Hopefully my idea will work.

Prayers go out to those on the western front, those fires are just devastating. More loss of life, massive destruction. Sure looks like it is going to get worse.

Everyone have a great day! .... and a good start to the weekend!

Ken, yes there are steps outside, which will be an issue when it snows. No direct access from garage on first floor, so I'll have to come out and make the walk.
Not a deal killer but not ideal. Ranchers are wonderful...but this is on a hill for sure. Glad I have an awd car.

Cottage built in 1982 by local carpenter, all the wood/materials came from Tinsmans up the street. Very well made with tons of built in storage. My brother has appt to go see it this afternoon and then will call me.

working on laptop while pc loads new version of Windows 10, and taking forever to do it.

Where were you when the world stopped turning?

12/7/1941 - Not yet born

11/22/1963 - Sophomore year in high school, heard news on my car radio during lunch break.

9/11/2001 - On my horse in a Canyon in the Texas Hill Country. We were holding our annual Amigo en Paz ceremony .. honoring our "Empty Saddles". The only communication .. with the outside world .. was the AM radio in drink stop truck.

68°F and cloudy this morning, going up to 84° today. Got up to 89° yesterday, and all the rain missed us to the north and west. Expecting another chance tomorrow. Sure would like to get some on all that new grass seed.

My Mother always enjoyed her time with the Quilters Guild at church. It was mostly older women who got together once a week and used quilting as an excuse to gossip. They made a lot of quilts every year, which they sold or raffled to benefit the church. All were made by hand.

I keep having to adjust my evening chores schedule to accommodate the earlier darkness, too, BEF. It's still dark when I leave for work now.

I suppose any last likely flippant thoughts of mine would probably be along the lines of, "Was it OK to leave that Emaj7 chord hanging at the end like that, or should I have resolved it?"

Steps don;t look too bad, ask Brother to verify if high enough or may need to add a temporary rail.
Hope this works out and looks like some room for a raised bed or window pots for a garden.

Ron, that squirrel looks like he has what we called a ‘wolf’, a type of parasite.

11/22/1963 - Still not yet born (by just under three years)
9/11/2001 - In my office at St. Louis Music Electronics doing quality jerk stuff, when one of the other quality jerks stuck his head in the door and told me. We all watched in the conference room as the first tower collapsed. I was angrier than I'd been in a long, long time, and had to stop watching.

65F and cloudy @ 11:30. Supposed to clear somewhat, later today, with a high of 75F.

Got the entire front mowed again yesterday. Also took string trimmer for a long walk ... outlet ditch for culvert that drains upper field, planting area in circle in front of garage, also unfinished portion of driveway/turnaround.

Grilled some H N dogs on the grill last night and had those with Bush's Baked Beans for dinner ... :licking:

Kubota dealer called yesterday to let me know parts for MMM are in. Probably go pick those up first.

Order rubber spacers from McMaster.

Rake up grass from outlet ditch.

Possibly spray unfinished portion of driveway with Roundup.

Possibly plant some more hosta.

Hope everyone has a solemn, productive, and safe day.
