The day started out @ 32 degrees, now it's up to 35. Kind of grey and dreary. No snow in the forecast for a week. I think an inversion is setting up and then smog. YUK!

I was reading an online article (I think it was linked from Fox or Yahoo) that said the New England region is warming up 20% quicker than the remainder of the US.
Heck, by 2050, we'll probably have palm trees in my backyard!
I'm already planning to truck my snow blower to Georgia...figure I'll get big bucks for it there!

0F this morning, sunny, just waiting for next storm now...

Wife strained her back earlier this week, still hurting, she doesn't rest much, might have to restrain her to keep her resting today.

discovered my county has a solar co-op, taking members till end of feb. They took bids on solar installs, and everyone in the co-op gets same price. I got an estimated cost from them for 5K and 9k system, that they ask we don't share. They are going to give me a firm quote. They offer 3 different panel types, Peimar 270w and 300w, solarworld 300w, and LG 320w. They use solaredge inverters and optimizers. They will do ground install for around .50 per W. all prices is before incentives.

So I went online to Wholesalesolar, and found I can get self install kit for about half of the co-op installed price. I asked them for a quote.

I average almost 2100 KWH per month, or 68 kwh per day, so not sure the payback is there.

I have a monitoring system on my geothermal systems, so I know how long they run per day per stage. I took geo current readings today, both low and high, also took load readings on water heater, pellet stove and washer / dryer. The big unknown is how long the water heater runs per day. I estimated 1 hr day for washer / dryer. In all these loads are around 90% of my electric usage, so it will be hard to reduce the usage without a cold house, and we keep it rather cool now.
