Good Morning!!!! 56F @ 6:15AM. Sunny to partly cloudy. High 87F. Winds SW at 5 to 10 mph.

It's wonderful seeing all those nice veggies popping up out of the ground, Drew! Just marvelous!

Found a video recapping this past weekend's camping event:
The tribute during the last third is touching if you've been part of the community for a while, but not very entertaining...

More time tracking down tools and parts yesterday, but making progress. Chewed on the insurance agent as well; says adjuster "is working on the claim" now. :irked:

Got the tree remains moved and the side meadow mowed; it's another steep one but I learned that it's safer to move up hill if you slip because you've already traveled over that terrain and there are no surprises waiting. Didn't get any pruning done, though, but it's better in the cool of the morning anyway.

Wednesday already? Happy Hump Day!

Can you rake the rocks with landscape rake?

Maybe if I had one. Biggest problem is this is a mature alfalfa field and the growth is up 3-4" now. I don't want to tear up to many of the plants.

Running the harrow over it really brought up a lot of the rocks that had been pushed in with a land roller. I'm just trying to get rid of as many as possible then I'll roll it again and push them down. Repeat for the next few years and hopefully at some point there'll be very few.

PJ,
I heard a woman attacked her husband with several of his guitars. When the judge asked " first offender?" she replied, no, first was a gibson, the second was a fender.

62°F and cloudy this morning, going up to 83° today. Had a brief shower pass through early this morning, and some potentially severe stuff expected overnight tonight.

No ticks seen yet this year. Last year was a bad year for ticks around here. Well, good for the ticks, bad for the rest of us. No rattlers around here. I did almost run over a young prairie kingsnake while mowing behind the barn Sunday. Stopped just in time to let him get away. Lots of frogs this year as well.

The Big Boy locomotive even made the local news here yesterday. One of the voices on the radio said of the 25 made, only eight still exist, and this one is the only one still functioning.

Just watched a crow harass a hawk twice his size, until the hawk finally left.
Beautiful morning, but a backdoor cold front is sliding south to muddle up the afternoon.

Drew, nice work you do for others.

A friend of mine that has a small chain of local pharmacies and related concerns, stopped by this morning. Hadn’t seen Fred since fall, he’s mostly retired now and he is moving from a 4000 sq ft house to a 1600. He asked me if I needed or wanted anything on a long list, I guess I better check it out, his old wood shop is bigger than my biggest garage, and he is getting rid of all that plus his scooter and motorcycle collection.
I would look good on a Cushman!

Have a good and blessed day folks.

Buppies, down in your area now. Passing natural bridge. Hope all is well.

Drew, cabbage little small, but watch for bugs.

Good morning to all! Low of 45, only going up to 64 today with a 60% chance of showers / storms. Got a brief shower last evening, only 2/10ths in the gauge. Hoping for some more today. I haven't seen it this green here for about 10 years.

Today's agenda will involve fixing 2 gates in the backyard (about a 1 1/2 acre fenced corral). Shouldn't be hard, just the opposite side of the far away from Garage / shop where all the tools are.

BEF, that was a good one! At first I thought it was a real news story!

Another school shooting in Colorado, only 12 miles from the Columbine shootings. Can't believe that was 20 years ago already! What is in the water in Colorado? Something seriously wrong with today's kids....

Dealer emailed me about the delivery....supposed to have another shipping company willing to do it, but has to organize the "rest of the load" and rest of the trip, so no timeline given. The dealer said if it doesn't go out by tomorrow, they will personally deliver the tractor using their truck / trailer on Friday. At least they are stepping up to the plate... It would probably be cheaper for them to do it anyway.

RNG, that looked like a really cool gathering. Lots of folks with the same interest.

David, enjoy your time off from the project, it will give you a clear mind to solve the problem.

Drew, garden is looking good. Can't wait to hear the "potato total" this year.

Everyone have a great day!

Don, I believe you would be flooded in if you still lived here. Middle Yegua creek is quite flooded. Glad your card games are fun and cheap.

It looks like I'm going to be taking a lot of detours this weekend If I visit Mom.

65°F and .3 inches rain.
Touristy day ahead. Visit Volcano Nation Park, drive around Puna looking at the changes from last years activity. Dinner in town.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

What's your technique? I put the bucket on the FEL, drive the tractor to the collection site, then walk around with a 5 gallon plastic bucket until it's about half full. Walk back to the tractor, dump it into the bucket, move the tractor back to where collection stopped, and repeat. Lots of bending over, lots of jumping on and off the tractor seat. Not a lot of fun...

You guys wanted a report on the Husqvarna battery chainsaw. Here it is;
It is way lighter than the 272XP that I had back in the 90s. As for cutting, it did good! Batteries only last about 45 minutes each. It is a good home owner limbing saw. I would never attempt to use it as a felling saw. It just doesn't have the balls for a felling saw. for blocking the spruce it did a not bad job.The only reason I stopped doing what I was doing is because both batteries were flat. I'll charge them up tonight and IF it doesn't rain tomorrow, then I will finish the job.

Good Afternoon Everyone!!!!!!

The restaurant's barbecue last night was good eats; we had a decent time. After we returned home we had a bear visitor, but Brogen scared it off with all the commotion he made. I did not see the bear, but wifey said it was small which probably meant its a yearling male. The neuropathy and night sweats were flaring last night, but it was a gift watching the rising sun starting the day off in the low 40ºF's. The PTist had me walking up and down a berm outside the building to evaluate my gait. Today was the last day of PT for the knee. :D I just had another tick walking across my laptop monitor after a walk outside. I need to get to the tire center up the road to retrieve my tires. Hopefully tomorrow the two rears will be heading there.

David- Sorry to read about the waterdrill setback. Too bad you can not run another smaller diameter waterdrill inside the jammed one.

Randy- Really nice upholstery work on the bar stools.

Ted- When it comes to poisonous snakes hanging around the house shovel action is a necessity. I am glad it was you who struck first.

Thanks for sharing the photos and experiences.

I hope that everyone is having a decent day.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.

Yep... I have had that happen several times before. And, all I'm gonna say is I have left my mark on the other vehicle each time.

Some guy hit my Wife's new "unblemished" Forester trying to park = $900 out of pocket. He reported it to my Wife. He and his GF were a young couple starting their new life together really does not need the added expense of private pay or reporting it to the insurance company. We got some breaks 40 years ago; we returned the favors shown us. Almost all my Tundra's "character lines" were not caused by my actions. One jerk actually flipped me off after backing into my truck. I now park "strategically," but never park someone in.
