Im am very sorry to here that 875 is alot of money i guess you just need to count your losses and move on to plan B. Sometimes when looking back on things my plan B or C ends up being better than my original plans

   / Good morning!!!! #9,102
Roy, sorry to read that it didn't work out with the bank. Can you still save the deal by trying to get the money from another source?
$875 is a chunk of change, boy I would be a tad upset about that.:mad:

We did try another source...local bank.
I've got to contact some creditors who were paid off a year or so back (dispute with a hospital)...problem is, they never took the collections off the credit reports.
So, let this be a lesson to all...keep an eye on those credit reports!

As far as the $875...yep, a lot of money for us!

Ouch!

Sorry to hear that Roy,
Good luck with Plan B

Too bad Roy know it has to be difficult for both of you. Keep working with the local bank, and do your best to get the credit report clear up. I have been through that and it is tough duty for sure.

That is an LOT of money for almost everyone.

That is a seriously high price for a home inspection... I was shocked...

I am SOOO SORRY this did not work out Roy...

What is your plan B?

Just curious...

BTW, I don't have a plan B myself for the sticky wicket I find myself in...

They came and got all my fence lumber today, they agreed to only charge me 10% restocking fee....
I think the Horses will be gone this weekend...
:sigh:
Be well,
David

We don't have a plan B either...just going to stay in this rental home longer, I suppose. Biggest drag is that was such a nice property and on a paved road. That's not so common in Vermont. It will be be very difficult to find a place as nice as that house.
BTW, it was also less then 5 miles to either Vermont Castings facility.

The $875 was for the home inspection itself, plus a radon test plus a comprehensive water test. Yep, a lot of money, but when one considers the prices of all three inspections/test...not so bad.

Well Roy and David, I have no answers for you but God has them all and some of his greatest gifts are unanswered prayers. Hard as it is to see that sometimes, looking back on my life I find it's been true every time. God bless you guys and your families.

Thanks all. TBN has been a good place to bounce things off on and I am always amazed at all the support. Jim that was an interesting and accurate observation.

Dodged another BULLet today. The young 700 lb. bull was in the secondary pen and was frighted, and had that look, and charged me, but since I am also plant based I jumped quickly over the fence to dodged him. Finally got him in the trailer and off to the market to be feed to some unsuspecting human - and so the cycle continues. As my cardiologist said " in the end the animals will get us" (well some of us).

The cardiac rehab patents liked my heart healthy chocolate truffles, (boiled and blended dates are used in the place of eggs, sugar, and oil.) the word got around and now the hospital cafeteria will use the recipe at an event. Who would have thought.

DABSGT congrat on your twelve and a quarter years.!

David that is one way to knock out those projects + a 90% refund to boot.
Roy, it sure seems like the first loan officer would have found and reported the problem to you.

Got the coffee brewing. 27 degrees with snow falling this morning. Heading to 33 with more snow throughout morning and clouds in afternoon. Plow 3" of snow this morning. Then another trip to my mothers today. She is getting better everyday and ready to get back to her normal schedule. But needs to get some strength back. In between visits I have been working on our whole house generator. Got it fixed with a external battery charger. When the spring weather arrives I should have backup power.
Good Morning All.

good morning everyone Ron glad to here your mom is doing better, that was a scare i'm sure.Roy sorry to hear your deal didn't happen. David i hope thing's are ok your way by that i mean tolarable.it's 46 degrees and raining the forcast says rain thru tuesday now. oh yeah i thought this might be of intrest to you especially Roy. i don't have a clue why this is happaning other than the fact the bank's see a crash comming or gun shy from the last one.i had to replace my water heater so went to town to local hardware and there wass a lady i knew sitting in the office, well i ask yhis is not the bank what are you doing here? [she has been a loan officer for a major bank for years] she said that she had to quit that the people she had been loaning money to for years with good credit of course, the bank would not aprove any loans to anyone. now i ask why and she said there were several reason's and no one of them was totally to blame, and that's all she would say other than she just didn't feel good about the whole thing and left. one other thing she said the only way people were borrowing thru them was when they got turned down for loan they would request a hearing and a verable explanation of there refusell. so i know there is some money people on the forrum that might enlighten me on what is going on.

If not for God and actually believing in our marriage vows both of us would have abandoned each other before now.
They say it is the darkest before the dawn, and it is pretty dark right now... Yesterday after therapy (we split the session) she said her view right now was out of 23 years together, 19 had stank... Never heard that before... Surely not during that time... I know she is drinking deeply of the cup of depression, and I am praying soundly for her, and for me.

I know, an all logic knows, the vast majority of all marital problems comes down to MONEY. 11 months at almost nothing for income, 14 months of a terrible job at maybe 50% of my former income, and candidly still the last 6.5 months at a GOOD job but with almost nothing for commission (which is 55-60% of my total income) has been devastating. I can see the light of increased income around the bend and headed in... I've been working until 11pm some nights, things are perking for me.

I can also see how my fears fed my over-controlling tendencies, which fed my fears, into a viscious cycle where I sucked all the joy and fun out of life, and it became toil and drudgery. Persoanlly I find hard work to be its own reward, but little girls and wives tend to feel differently...

The truth is, even without horses and pasture, etc. I've got many, many years worth of work right here in front of me still.

I believe that with God's help, somehow this will all work out for the best, even though I have no idea what that will look like...

Some days are easier than others though...

I appreciate all the support form you guys. More than I can express...

God Bless all of you and all of yours.
Be well,
David

42 and I'm not sure this morning. I crashed hard last night and forgot the alarm, so I slept in until 5:36.
I think it is 50% rain today, and the warmth this morning seems to support that.

I think the horses may go tomorrow, not sure yet. I'm running out of Hay... My neighbor sold me some stuff her horses would not eat, and it turned out to be mostly straw, briars, and etc... total crap hay... so I'm down to less than 3 bales I think...

Looks like my next outside projects will be the drive needs grooming (seat time!) and I've got a bunch of leaner trees, and a down tree needing some chainsaw plus seat time... That and tackling all the maintenance issues on my mowers, tractor, generator, motorcycles, etc...

Got lots of work to do inside the house too...

Be well all-o-y'all
David

Sincerely praying for you and your wife, David...it made me sad to read your latest update. And I'm sorry your wife has such a negative outlook on your many years together. Therapy doesn't always help, when my ex and I endured that many years ago, I kept expecting to be told: "she is wrong, or you were right" well it just doesn't work that way. I sincerely do think therapy helped us stay together back then but would have served little purpose in later years. I am glad you have God in your lives to give you strength and support as well as us guys here....

Looks like we got some snow overnight, the ground was bare yesterday and it's 26 degrees here. Yesterday I went next door to visit my neighbor who had temporarily taken in a pair of 8 week old Miniture (sp) Schnauzer puppies, sisters to his 2 year old dog. Had forgotten how cute puppies can be !!!

Roy, it made me sad to learn you are unable to buy that house, your advice about checking on your credit is very true as many times the information in your record is incorrect. Back in 2004 Sears Credit screwed up and incorrectly applied my full payment of $30, YES THIRTY BUCKS for my Searcharge account to someone else's account and only credited my account for $10. By the time I got it straightened out two years had elapsed and although I kept sending them proof I had paid my $30 account in full they kept telling me "but our computer says you only made a $10 payment on your account" and it was the first and only bad mark on my otherwise impeccable credit score over a 35 year period.

I'm sorry to hear of your problems Roy and David.

As you said, it is darkest before the dawn and I sincerely hope the dawn comes up soon for you both.

Everything is still up in the air here so no updates on my end.

The weather this Saturday morning is dreich but not raining (yet!) so I shouldn't really complain.

I really will have to mow the lawn soon but I'll have to do a thorough check first. The local cats like to use it as a litter box...

Won't be doing much this weekend, just household chores.

Take care everybody.

Until next time...

~Jamie.

Nice January morning! Same here Thomas, 1/2" of snow, 12*, clear. Supposed to be a high of 30* today. Not much for warmth in the forecast either.
