keep that snow away from me, hold it there!

cold and wet, lovely. Thankfully I'm taking the truck this morning and it has remote start. Warm truck, warm seats, warm steering wheel.
It's too bad the engine has to start to accomplish that, but sure would take a big battery to create all that heat.

35 outside this AM. Chopped some wood yesterday, just because. Kids all coming back tonight to celebrate Christmas together. I plan on making them a feast of a breakfast in the AM. I hope we all can hold it together. I think I am going to ask my doctor for some backup pills to take the edge off. This stress has got to be doing bad things inside even though I deny it. LOL.

Stay positive! Have a great day. Keep the snow away from here and NYC for the next few months. Please? LOL.

Reports from cousins, snowing all the way to North Houston.

The snow has stopped and is now melting, I sure wish I could see it in the daytime. I was scrambling to get the snow covered citrus trees under the porch during the peak of the storm. Schools are already canceling - A Snow Day! Still 32˚. What an unpredicted surprise!!

Good morning, all.
Temp is 17 now and going to a high of 27F and flurries. Wind SSE 7mph.
We got about 1/2" overnight. A few years ago the call was for flurries and in the morning I shoveled 16" of my deck. The weatherman is guessing we will get about an inch today.

How much did you get 2-3"? A 'snow day'?
What would you do if you got some real snow. 1-2' overnight!
Here I thought Texans were tough! A couple of inches of snow and they shut down the schools.:laughing:
I just looked at the list (kvue.com)of schools and universities that are shut down or have delayed starts today.
I can understand the lower grade (1-12th grade) schools shutting down, but universities too?

Drinking first cup of coffee. 16° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 32° with sunny skies. A little snow fell overnight. Just enough so I will have to go out and sweep walk way to garage. Need to finish up on JD wheels today. Take the tape off tires. Then store them away until paint is fully dry. After painting i read instructions. "Apply paint when temperatures are above 70°". They will have to wait until next May for that. Temperature in shop is 50°. Will spend later today installing a larger UPS on computer, modem and router.
Don, and other Texans stay home. It's a snow day.

Good morning all, 33 this morning going to 38 with a 60% chance of snow tonight 80% tomorrow. Wife will be thrilled. Guess I need to make sure the blower is ready, just in case. Only calling for 1 1/2". Yesterday was fun but by 6:30 wife and I both felt like it was 10:30. Boy loved it but was pretty stressed by supper. He will remember it for a long time. James Easter of the Easter Brothers brought him a card that has a pic of him dressed in a suit playing guitar with The Easter Brothers. We are going to frame it for him. Thanks for the well wishes guys. Same thing any of you would have done.

Got some time to play with the Tormek and I love it. Sharpened a set if chisels and they leave a finish like glass. :thumbsup:

Kyle, 12 years with no snow, you need to move north.

Local boy is saying 2”-4”, Weather Channel is saying 6”-11”! Surprise! NOOOOOO!
I am not ready, I do have the wheel weights and front blade on the tractor.

Went to Front Royal to watch two of the grandsons Christmas program, because Lynn said a few days before she passed, “Somebody is going to the Front Royal Christmas program this year.” I was elected.

On the way back I was rammed by a Trailblazer that had been pacing me for about 25 miles, I pulled over and they pulled into a dirt road and jumped out and started toward me. I hauled butt and called 911. They did it in a long dark stretch and I think the had bad intent. I was tied up with state police for an hour searching up dirt roads and such. No luck. Oh well, thank the Lord and move on.

Whoa!! That's a biggie...all my rain is going to be your snow. So if the 1.4 inches of rain expected here converts to snow,
yup. Even an inch of rain is what 7 inches of snow? That won't go away by the morning...particularly with cold weather ahead.
So gentlemen and ladies, man your snowblowers.

Hey guys, remember December is a heart attack month, and adding sudden activity, particularly if you normally ride a desk,

36 going to 41, and 100% chance of snow...so now I'm wondering. We love snow, and we have cutting our Christmas tree on the agenda today. I can only remember it snowing while cutting the tree once before. Glad you guys in Texas got to experience some.

Ed, glad things went well for the party.

Took my wife to the doctor yesterday, and then had lunch at our favorite Tex-Mex place before making a Costco run and one to Wegmans. A new "village" of shops, restaurants and a Lidl have been built over there and we walked a few blocks around looking and talking with some of the proprietors. Definitely found a couple of places we want to try for lunch sometime.

for sure I wasn't worried about your car. You don't need this emotionally no matter how tough you are,
though all Toppops I know are tough old birds.

19 degrees this morning, but no wind, and unfortunately no rain, snow or other moisture. Supposed to be clear and sunny and go to 48 today.

Oops, spoke too soon at 5 a.m., now before 7 a.m. it's gone down a couple more degrees to 17, and with a light breeze, a wind chill of 9.
