It was 32 degrees here at 4:30 a.m. and still 32 at 6:30 a.m. so guess that going to be the low. About 2-3 “ of snow overnight but over now.

Guess I’ll head down to the shop and hook snow blower on back of tractor, remove grapple / install snow blade and gas up the snowmobile.

Oh ....... never mind ........ don’t have any of those things.

Guess I’ll just get another cup of coffee.

On the way back I was rammed by a Trailblazer that had been pacing me for about 25 miles, I pulled over and they pulled into a dirt road and jumped out and started toward me. I hauled butt and called 911. They did it in a long dark stretch and I think the had bad intent. I was tied up with state police for an hour searching up dirt roads and such. No luck. Oh well, thank the Lord and move on.
That's scary stuff. Back in the mid 70's. I had a similar event. Never got rear ended. I was leaving a friends home. A car started following me. Called friend on CB. Told him what was going on. He called local PD. I drove into the little town near by. 4 police cars surrounded the car following me. There were 2 persons in car that had outstanding warrants. Bet they never followed another car. At least for a while.

33°. I'm taking a snow day, because TX got snow.

They keep changing our forcast. Earlier in week they said wintery mix, then just cloudy, yesterday they said partly sunny, now we have 80% chance of snow tomorrow. My weather rock can predict better.

Randy, scary stuff, you don't need that.

Front royal has the closest rural king to me, haven't been there yet.

Little rough again last night, but doing ok now. Youngest called for help with a programming problem. My mind was fuzzy at the time (or is it always) but was able to help. He was real close without help. This one does not like programming.
They fly home thur night. Get in to airport around midnight, wife hopes i feel up to going with her.

The low so far has been 12*, it made it up to 44* yesterday. Today's going to be about the same. They don't show any change in the weather for a week.

It should be snowing here not in Texas. Hope it doesn't cause to many problems.

I have a few little things to get done today.

Hope everyone has a nice day.
CWB.

45F @ 7:15AM. A mix of clouds and sun. High 62F. Winds light and variable.

Very happy for the Texans that enjoy snow, my sympathies go out to the rest of you. I know Christmas is the time of giving, but I'll forgive you if you keep the white stuff all to yourselves.

Glad you weren't heart, TopPop. There's a new robbery method that involves a fake traffic accident to stop the victim, who is then held up at gunpoint.

No progress at the mechanic's yesterday, and now he's recycling excuses. Said he was sick.

Replacement part for the old motorcycle showed up, and it's the right one. But the Woodruff key had been sheared off in its slot, with bits and pieces badly scoring the surrounding taper. And the area where a lip seal rubs on the OD is hopelessly pitted. Both parts will go back into the box with the prepaid label, and today I spend the big bucks to get a new one from a reliable source. I guess it serves me right for trying to save a few bucks by trusting someone to know what they are doing.

Meanwhile, the woodstove is popping and pinging as it warms up, and the hummers are buzzing around the feeders in the early morning sunlight. We'll have cool mornings and warm afternoons at least into next week here, good for getting a little more painting done if I let the parts warm a bit in the sun first.

Now where'd I leave the phone number for that satellite guy. Gotta call him again...

TGIF folks!:drink:

19°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 39° today.

Stepson sent a text to his Mother last night that it was snowing in San Marcos. I laughed. He moved down there to get away from snow.

Glad things didn't go badly for you, Randy.

Friend in Mission, TX have reported SNOW down there. Hope nobody needs anything from TX today. They close whole state when it gets below 40°. :confused3: And now it's snowing.

Randy, glad you are okay and smart enough to NOT confront them face to face.

Have they called out the National Guard in Texas yet, to get rid of the snow?

Toronto got 2' one storm a few winters back, the mayor shut the city down and called in the Army. Made Toronto the laughing stock of all of Ontario.

So far this 'flurry' has dumped 6". The block heater for the tractor is plugged in. When the snow stops, then I will go out and clean up.

You guys south east of me will be happy to know that I am selfish and will keep all the snow to myself.

Stay safe people.

We got a total of 4" of snow. It is now 50˚ and the snow event will be just a memory in a few hours.

I finished my walk about and took 264 pics. I'll just post a few select because I know for most of y'all this is not a special event.
The news media is missing the big story. This is a Fall snow event, maybe the first ever for parts of Texas. We have had only 3 other snow events (snow actually accumulates on the ground) here in the last 21 years and they have all been in the Winter - January/February.

First, my Fall garden:

Snow day today. 1st time we've ever had more than a dusting here since 1985 or 1986 here in Giddings, best my wife can remember. To be specific, it snowed 17" in Victoria (100 miles south of here in 2004).

Notice my pecan tree still has/had green leaves.

School here actually ran 2 hours late. Roads are good now, but I decided to let the kids play as a different type of learning environment today.

Don, I got the fireplace burning now too.
