Any decent printer has wireless and air print nowadays, the last three I've bought have been subpar compared to the older ones, durability and function wise. They have more stuff, cost less and don't work as well.My current is an HP, previous was a Cannon, before that a Dell, I wouldn't recommend any of them.

I have a Canon that that doesn't work with the new version of Ms10?

Otherwise fine, but it doesn't work, and Canon does not support it. 3 years old. Need to buy another, no other way out.

Hp just got caught updating their firmware to not allow 3rd party in cartridges.

I went back to canon after an expensive hp failed way too early

Oh no, my printer died of old age. Any suggestions on a new one where the ink does not cost as much as the printer, and can also print from iPhone?

Don;

I bought an HP 3 in 1 printer at Sam's Club, for about $80, that prints, scans, copies. It is Wi-fi so I print from my iPad all the time. You can also give it an email address and print remotely, i.e. out of Wi-Fi range.

It's worked very well for 4+ years.

I think that printer cartridges are how they make money selling printers so cheap.

I tried some 3rd party ink cartridges and they were crap. No money saved.

Got up near 80°F here today. Been dry the last few days, and no rain expected until Friday/Saturday. A look at the NWS radar tells me that will change between now and then, though.

We have a couple of the HP 3-in-1 devices. Ours were closer to the $200 range, but have been fantastic. We bought a cheaper one a few years ago, and had endless trouble connecting to it through our wifi. So, we went back to the more expensive models (one is a 5740), and have had zero problems.

Any other Netflix subscribers out there? Just watched the series of "Detectorists".
I seem to like the British shows best. Eric ya'll know how to do it right on the other side of the pond.
I think this show just moved to #1 on my favorite list.
Season one and two are out now.
Trailer link below - it has a good theme song also. Sure beats watching debates or news.
There is even a vegetarian in the show.

My worst temper tantrum in a long while was when an HP multi function printer quit working again, right after another two hour session on the phone with HP support. Put my fist right through the glass scanner table. By some miracle I wasn't hurt, but that POS went right into the trash can. Never again.

It was followed by an Epson, more trouble. The crowning glory was when it quit working with an error message about exceeding some sort of maximum page count. It used sponges inside to absorb ink during cleaning runs, and when a certain count was exceeded it was time to replace the whole printer. I found a bootleg software patch to get around that problem, but it wasn't that great a printer in the first place and it followed the HP into the trash.

I've been using a Canon multi function printer for the past three years without problems. It's wireless, works with all my devices, and I can even run the scan functions wirelessly. Like all printers, the cartridges are expensive, and my attempts with Costco refills have not been satisfactory. I started looking at Canon printers because I really like their cameras, and it's proven to be a good pick. If it croaks tomorrow, I'd probably buy another, but not before reading the reviews on Amazon to be sure there wasn't something better.:2cents:

Good morning, I'm working away for the day in Yorkshire. It feels much more like autumn up here, with quite a few trees turning colour.

I'm tired of playing with printing ink cartridges, think I may give a laser a try next time. Back in the days when inkjet printers were first out for home use, I bought some 3rd party replacement ink that came with a pair of almost industrial strength plastic gloves. The gloves lasted a lot longer than the ink, which had to be injected into the cartridge with the supplied syringe.

Anyone else remember the days when we were happy to listen to a dot matrix clanking away and a "picture" was made up of not much more than a few X's and spaces ?

58 going to 70 today. Hurricane forecast looking better for us, but the model sure has a strange path.

Regarding printers, I used an old HP inkjet for probably 10 years until 6 months ago when I finally got tired of clearing 2 false print jam errors for each printed page. Well I stuck with HP and bought the Envy 7640 (or 7645?) inkjet which has been dynamite. Seems like I get many more pages printed per ink cartridge, and the thing will turn the page over itself and print two sided...nice quality print and have had no problems. I use Android, but pretty sure it loves Apple, too. Don, glad yours seems to be working again. The laser option sounds good, dot matrix, not so good.

I primed two sheets of plywood (front and back) and two 1x6x10' yesterday...can't believe it took 3/4 gallon of primer. I had almost bought 2 quart cans instead of the gallon due to my underestimating, but the gallon priced out better, thank goodness.

a cool 61 degrees going up to only 67 today in Lincoln DE.
Decided that a full day was plenty of time to make my place secure so am staying another day
here with friends, and then home by noon tomorrow Thursday.

The ironic thing is that in anticipation of my 41 foot carport going in, allegedly..., next week, I had just gotten help to unscrew the ground anchors for this rv as I didn't know where in the new space this rv would go. Might be in the rear and the Massey up front like a big iron bulldog blocking the way.

time for a boat hurricane story
I sat on my boat during a Cat 1 in Aventura Florida, my marina was the local hurricane hole, and I was tied up with triple lines and chafing gear onto a huge concrete dock surrounding my boat. All good. Until one of the smaller boats on the far end broke a line, was never prepped for storm, and now was swaying out into the marina about to hit other boats but still tied on with one line. And here is the 120 pound dockmaster attached to that line getting dragged down the dock. Even with my bad back at the time, I went out there, once a fireman always one, and helped him drag that 40 foot boat back. Meanwhile another idiot who had not heeded the warnings had a fabric and steel pipe structure around his fancy race boat, and it started to self destruct. So while we are pulling on that line, pipes and pieces of that structure flew over our head. That's when I decided that once he had another line on, it was time to go back and calm my wife, who may have come out to get me. 100mph flying coconuts; you just don't want to get hit by one. And those palm fronds with the sharp ends fly around very easily.

My home sits in the middle of a large open area, but fully boxed in by treelines and forest. One side is exposed to the tops of some large treeline oaks, though when the last one went down they went down the other way into the field which I own. So its just firewood. My orchard is very protected and has a commercial metal fence around it. Now that could get dinged up for sure. The orchard is starting to lose its leaves,so if they all went, probably not a damaging thing. And the barn is in the lee of the woods on at least two sides. A big pine tree could get it but unlikely.

I'd say it's time to bring in the hummingbird feeders. And a whole lot of other things. Couple of hours should do it.
Then I need to address tarps over equipment.

Good morning all, 57 this morning wit patchy drizzle and fog then 65 and partly sunny this pm. Going to lowes to grab a few 2x4's for the shop and then..... Who knows. Was planning to move a lot of stuff out of the storage unit Friday but already 50% chance of rain so we will see.

Drew make sure to tie yourself to the mast this weekend so you don't get blown away.

Don Anything but HP. We got a nice HP laser an it dies about every year. We got it at Best Buy and got the extended warranty and return it every year. They give us a new one and start the warranty over and give us a new 2 years. So far we have gone through 3 or 4 and am expecting this one to die soon.

Have a great day. Ed

Poured second cup of coffee. 55° with mostly clear skies this morning. Heading to 75° with lots of sun. Got oil and all filters changed in motorhome yesterday. Full of fuel and waiting for late November. My body feels like I need to stop doing this type of projects. Cut lawn today after things dry up.
Txdon, I have a HP Office Jet 6500A. Been a great printer/scanner. I use off brand cartridges from Sams Club. There is a newer model out. Kind of big.
Those on south east coast be safe.
Good Morning All.

Hurricane is sitting over Guantanamo right now.
I'd like to see a live cam of that.
If and when this hits Florida we'll see plenty of them
