63 cloudy headed to 80 with rain tonight. Not having 24 hours without rain or fog has slowed down my outside work, but everything is nice and green (with a few autumn colors showing).

Gary, I already miss your Massey-F pic.

Did something stupid yesterday had pole saw on truck talking on phone ran into saw which left a nice gash on my head into hair line. Now instead of white hair I've got pink hair. Really sore this morning but only myself to blame Moral of story watch where you are going

People talk about the dangers of texting and driving. Think about how dangerous talking and walking is. Should be outlawed.
Keep it clean and get better soon.

66 this morning. Headed to oh nowhere today. It's suppose to be about this temp all day. We did get a good rain last night. Was hard and fast and about half inch. It's welcome here.

49 with Rain showers off and on all Day with a high of 52.We had 3/4 of Rain inch over night which brought more leaves off the Trees.

Low of 40F this morning. Mid-60's today with sunny skies they say, bit cloudy now. Good chance of light rain Saturday, boy do we need it.

The migrating robins showed up two days ago, this morning they discovered the winterberry bush and are busy picking it clean. We have lots of nesting robins but they take off around the end of July or early August. A small (15-20) flock of flickers is passing through. We had a few nesting flickers this summer which I hadn't seen before. Turkey tracks and dust bath wallows in the field.

A young bull moose wandered across the field while I was picking rocks the other day. He stopped and looked at me a couple times. They can get testy around mating season so I kept an eye on him too. I guess under the tractor would be the safest place to be if one got after me in the middle of an open field.

I have just a bit of rock picking yet to do this morning then a 2-3 acre section is ready for smoothing with the I-beam drag. Riding the tractor is soooo much more fun than picking rocks. I need to mow the yard too, more riding. It could be a good day.

It would help with stuff on the surface that scoops easily, but there would still be a good bit hand picking. Plus the buried rocks and small stumps that passed through the dozer rake blade here and there that I need to pop out with the backhoe. One issue is once the skeleton bucket had some rocks and stuff in it, then I would either need something to dump it into or spend a lot of time running back and forth to the rock and root junk pile.

It's a tedious job but I am 75% done, only ~3 more acres to go out of the 12. It's good exercise minus the women doing Zumba like at the gym. :laughing:

dave--Assuming you have the stony, sandy silt loam typical of Bangor, leave the rocks and get a wide rototiller. Till very slow with the lid shut, pack the ground a couple times before it rains and the rocks will vanish. We did countless acres that way.

We picked rocks the size of a big softball and left the rest. Worked like a harm.

Morning guys! Raining like heck here, looks like fall is here. Going to Sam's club in a bit with a neighbor. Then back to work on organizing my shop. I should take some pics.
