Good Morning! 76F @ 10:30AM. Some clouds this morning will give way to generally sunny skies for the afternoon. High 78F. Winds S at 10 to 20 mph.
This is the first day of a cooling trend that will last into next week, bringing a tiny bit of rain Sunday night and maybe a bit of snow to the high mountains. It'll be a welcome change from the near hundred degree temps of the past few weeks.
Hope no one gets hurt by all that rain on the east coast!
Welcome back to the woodburning clan, Irv. Firing up the stove for the first time in the fall is something I look forward to, especially once the firewood pile is replenished.
Oh, and if my home insurance company wouldn't let me have a woodstove, I'd find one that wood (sorry, couldn't resist the pun).
Same problem with deer here, Drew. Except they're active at all hours, not just the night time. Staying alert, a good set of driving lights, and lower speeds help, especially on the motorcycles, but it's always the one you don't see that gets you.
Got the bedliner applied to the poptop and luggage carrier yesterday. I hesitate to call it painting, as the stuff goes on with the consistency of thin mud and the gun that shoots it has a 5/16" hole in the nozzle. I didn't get the best coverage in all the areas, but the texture is about what I wanted, maybe just a little rougher. I should probably go ahead and paint it to get a more even color, but I don't have enough dulling agent to give an eggshell look, and a very shiny but lumpy surface would look funny. So I'll let it go as is for now and see how the stuff holds up over the winter. The best thing about the job is once started it went very quickly, with three quarts of the stuff going on in less than an hour. and that includes mixing each of three separate batches.
I'm with you, Roy, TGIF!!!
