Good morning!!!!

Good morning. I've travelled 80 miles east of where I live and I am shocked by how much everything in these parts looks like spring. All the plants must think winter has been cancelled. The roads are lined with Blackthorn in full blossom and Hawthorns are putting out bright green leaves.

Roy, that's tough. Hope it turns out to be something easy to fix, though I expect your wallet is going to be having a fretful day in the meantime.

No work on the wagon in the rain, but the more I research, the more I am inclined to skip the pedal idea and just use the controller by hand.

Kev, the Tekonsha controllers Ron suggested look a good price. Getting your wagon rolling (or not rolling, if the brakes work), in a simple way sounds attractive. If you later want to make it better, you can come up with a Mark 2 proportional pedal solution at a later stage. A mark 3 variant could even drop the pedal and be voice activated - "Whoa" for steady braking and whatever expletive you like for an emergency stop :).

48 going up a few degrees today, overcast, some showers and a little rain tonight.
No plans for today, overdid it last two days so need to have a slow day today.
Then a stretch of nice weather through early next week.

I have shrubs starting to bud also. With four sixty degree days coming in the next week, I think all kinds of things will pop, and regret it...

A little rain coming down outside now, and temps dropping from our high earlier this morning to level off at about 40 for the day.

Was surprised temps hit 60 yesterday...49 was the forecasted high, and still over a foot of snow, but melting fast.

Brought another load of firewood in with the tractor yesterday...never driven through snow that deep before but the 4WD did the job. Ran the new generator a little more to break it in with a load. Boy is it loud.

Roads are reported to be clear now, and need to make a run into town today.

Kev, hope all is well with your trip to the doc.

35F now couple more degrees should be the high.
Guess one could call this our mini January thaw.

Enjoy the day all.

Poured first cup of coffee. 51° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 69° with lots of bright sun. Shopping trip took longer than I planned. Today it's going to be a patio day with a couple of adult beverages.
Roy, hope your car gets fixed with minimum cost.
txdon, when using my gas pressure washer I use softened water. PW works better and leaves no spots that can eat into paint finish.
Kev T, good luck with doctor appointment.
Good Morning All.

31 this morning and headed to 38 today.

Going to put out hay before the ground thaws back out. Then off to dads to get the stock trailer. Have sheep to haul tomorrow. I think. Helping a friend get out of the sheep business. Then back to work on chicken coops today.

Roy did they eliminate a fuel filter problem frozen or otherwise. Never good when the mechanic is standing there scratching his head on your dime.

Kev. Good luck at doctor.

Good morning, 30F here heading to 34F. Had a light dusting of snow overnight. Neighbours all have snowmobiles around here but they have to leave town to use them. One neighbour went to Timmins, Ontario and the other went to Gaylord, Michigan.

Good Morning. 0815, overcast, 58F with 87% humidity. Forecast high of 61F with 50% chance of rain today, and a low of 49F tonight. It looks like we have a couple of days worth of showers coming in off the Gulf. A little cooler today also.

I'm doing house cleaning this morning. Already two loads into the laundry detail. I have pork chops and collards planned for supper. Maybe a pot of peas as well. If I get that done early enough, I will camp tonight.

Roy, it sounds like it might be the fuel filter. Hope it turns out to be something cheap and easy.

Kev, hope you get a clean BOH.

You guys have a good one,

Larro

Good morning! 38˚ heading to 55˚ cloudy.

The vinegar/steel wool/silicon lube made the plunger on the PW movable by hand, I'll put it back together when it get warm again to see if it's fixed.

Cursive writing is coming back! Now the younger generations can read what we write.

Got some tall jack stands (30") from HF yesterday so the work on the Farmall can start soon. Maybe next week!

Kev, how much are round bales in your neck of the woods? My Dad retains 20% of the round bales as lease for the guy who makes hay on his land, and that was enough this year so he did not have to buy any.

27 going to 35 and gray. I am ready for winter to take a hike.

Deer have cleaned us out on feed corn so a trip to Farm & Fleet is on the to do today.

Still trying to figure out how I want to go on a grapple for the John Deere The get by option will be about $700 the what I want option is $1,500. Not much cost price value in either since I will not be using it every day but it will sure take the back out of the work if I do get one. Hmm
Have a good day.

Started out in the 50's and light rain, now north winds, mid 40's and falling, cloudy and ugly. Snow is just about all gone, thankfully. We had weeping willows in full green leaf about a month ago, then the hard freezes turned them brown. Almost all the shrubs and a lot of trees budded in the early winter when it was so mild. Not that unusual though, seen it several times before, just not willows greening out in December.

68°F and no rain
Be safe

Roy, best of luck with your fuel problem.
I can sorta relate.
New Year's Day I hear this strange sound coming from our 2001 Sequoia. Couldn't figure it out, but doesn't sound like it is in the engine compartment. Also the driver side passenger window was inoperable and I had planned to take it to a local garage instead of the dealership. Made appointment and took it in. While waiting for the mechanic I just happened to figure out the sound - apparently the side mirror motor. Seemed like a reasonable fix. A couple days later the mechanic calls, car needs a body control module, one of those computer pieces. Toyota wanted over a $1000 for the part. I ordered it online, $558 sent directly to the shop. I get a call, good news-bad news. Seems the mirror is a bad switch. Window worked with the replacement bcm, then quit. Can't find a reason, but the new bcm is burned out again. Replacement mirror switch on order.
When I picked up the car, mechanic refused to charge me for the labor, but I'm still out $558 and problem not solved.
I wish you better luck.

We can help, what options are the "want" options, maybe they are really are the "get by" options.

Well I don't think we got a hundredth of an inch in rain, turned out to be a beautiful day. Thanks for all the good vibes guys, I am just getting older like the rest of you. It was a routine thing.

Don, I get better than average because I am loyal customer. 5x5 rounds barn kept good horse hay sells for $50 a roll (I pay 40), field hay with a crust sells for 40, and there is some around that is weedy mostly for cows that sells for 35. I don't know how he makes a living, but father and son team are doing well. Square bales generally sell for 7 - 7.50, why I am jumping on $4.

David/Sodamo, oh my, sorry. What an unfortunate waste of money.
Almost wonder whether you need to take it to dealer so if they fry another board they will eat it, not you. Quite an expensive fuse...
hope the next fix does it permanently. If both the new switch and new pc board fried, sounds like some major voltage diagnostics needs to be done before
plugging in new parts. Sounds like a short or overvoltage.

I had a better day, luckily. Picked up 200 feet of one inch black plastic water pipe for the redo of the water going to the barn. Currently six inches under the surface and has broken five times. Maddening, time to fix it. Particularly with part of the area already torn up. Choice of 100psi for about $3.50 a foot or 160 psi, heavier construction, for $6.50 a foot. So for about sixty bucks more I took the heavier wall pipe and it actually was made in Asheville NC. I expected Chinese pipe from Lowes... I need 180 feet so I'll have just one connection in the run as they only sold it in 100 foot lengths.

Kev, don't the Amish have all the cart braking issues resolved by now or does PA/PennDOT have different laws?

   / Good morning!!!! #41,960
Thanks Drew
I think we'll likely just leave the window non operational. This car is a 2001, but less than 100k. I think the environment is our biggest enemy. My Tundra is our primary vehicle and the Sequoia come in handy when family visits. Eventually we'll sell it, get something newer, but not really on the radar yet.

Are you direct laying your pipe and adding a conduit for future?
