Ken thanks
I think most of it is going to NJ

solved the garage door battery problem.
oem Genie battery 55 bucks.
Amazon top rated battery made in Vietnam 20 bucks ding, the winner
Interstate equivalent, made in China, 25 bucks not this time
battery should be here tomorrow. If it doesn't quite fit, at least the leads are easy to get to so I can jury rig something.
I think it will fit though.

sure is something I never had to worry about for a while, last 20 years had automatic Generac.
when I pushed the button to open the door when i returned home on my trip, and it started going up really slowly, which is normal, I was sure
glad I had battery backup. Then it stopped about 8 inches up and died.
I looked at that opening and was sure I'd get my gut stuck under it so reason prevailed.
got less than three years on this battery, unimpressive.
am going to put smart charger on it to see what happens.
It's 12V, always useful for something.

chunky little thing, over three pounds
Amazon will have a new one here tomorrow for under twenty bucks
I did check the online battery places, seems they are all selling the same thing.
This brand seemed better rated than most.
had to peel off part of label to find industry size, SLA1055

doing that rewiring as we talked about makes sense. I need someone with more skills than I.

   / Good morning!!!! #173,513

This is a snapshot of our weather system.

Good news overnight is our replacement AC for the one that died Monday arrived in Mayfield. Plan to pick it up later today and get it installed.

72°F and 7.30 inches rain and still raining. We are on the backside of the storm now. Not as threatening as predicted, especially the winds.

Will make for inside day. Actually may go to town for a couple errands.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

So headlight replacement seems to be stuck somewhere, contortions to replace but I did it on both about 5 years ago.

Rain now says .18" total for the day with .41" between 4-5pm.

Hoping one of the above is correct

80F and sunny @ 13:30m heading up to around 83F for the day's high.

Was up very late (05:00) so didn't get up until around noon when alarm went off.

Supposed to be a mix of sun clouds today ... but it won't make it to 33% cloud cover until around 16:00 ... currently only 14% ... :(

Woman says it is hot out in the sun ... :( ... also said garden was undisturbed this morning ... (y)

She reported seeing a smaller juvenile groundhog around back yesterday ... so at least one of them is still around. Still consider it a good sign that there appears to be only one ... ;)

Think my plan will probably be to get the mowing done down here around the house and wait until later to work in the garden when there's at least a chance there might be a bit more cloud cover.

Possibly look for some other jobs in the shade as well.

Hope everyone is having a good Wednesday ... (y)

RS, I'm in awe of your perfect little holes. Great invention.

Yeah, pretty happy with how it's working.

Takes a while to heat up all the metal though to the point where it will cleanly melt the entire circle. Sometimes it only does 1/2 to 2/3rd's and I have to hit it again.

Of course, every time the end is stuck down into the (moist/wet) dirt it cools it off ... to the point where it needs to be heated up again to melt the plastic ... so it's not a real fast process.

But not too bad ... ;)

And should only have to be done once.

Just don't burn yourself.

Yeah ... extreme care is required when using it.

The torch has a small dial to set the initial flow and a trigger handle that can be squeezed causing it to act like a blow torch. Will shoot flames out the end 1' to 2' or more.

I avoid using that and just stick with the small knob ... ;)

Turn up the knob to heat the end and then turn it down to punch the holes.

I used scissors on mine in NC and after a few years the edges were a real mess.

I'll bet.

overcoming the weeds is half the battle,

At least half ... ;)

now the fun part
I hope you get three or four good years out of that plastic.

Hope so too ... if we got 5 years it would be outstanding. Any more than that would be a bonus.

I can see gears in Popgadget's head, how I automate this?...
put it on a rolling mechanism where it burns a hole every two feet?

(y)

now if you could have Don or Ted come install a drip waterer for you...but like here, I think you get plenty of rain

Typically yes ... except when it doesn't.

We may look at doing drip irrigation next year.

For now we'll stick with a watering can and the hose.

Having eliminated most of the weeding, it isn't too much of a burden for as often as we have to do it.

Fabric should help retain the soil moisture some too.

Good luck on the battery for the garage door opener.

find a lounge chair in the shade and take a nap RS.

looked over the DJI Minis. Mini 2 is perfect but getting a viewing screen on Mini 3 seems like a nice
feature to have. I'd probably go 4k also; if 4k is "native" can you dumb it down?
huge files are a real problem to email. And I'd like to be able to directly post to TBN.
I'm video illiterate, but have been taking pics all my life. Time to up my game.
I need the drone with the same setting as my good camera: Intelligent Auto.

even if drone is under that weight limit, I'm sure local rules prevail. Like not flying it over the Pentagon...
It would return with a streaking missile on its tail....
need to find the "things not to do" about drones.
Common sense and courtesy demand not infringing on most folks privacy.
I'm interested in scenery, not bikinis. Or lack thereof.

I just thought it would be fun weather permitting to send it up at most campgrounds and look around.
i wonder how close I could get it to the Mt Rushmore Presidents, are there rules??? probably crash into thirteen other drones
competing for a pic

I asked my friend with the top of the line drone he does youtube videos with what he thinks of this:

I see it comes with spare propellers. The way I back up, good to have...

Daughter is actively checking into where to go next. Talking to the National Security Team, moving up in the office, talking the DOD etc. Will be interesting where she goes next. She got her interim evaluation that looks great. See some snippets below:

She established herself as one of the bureau’s preeminent strategic thinkers during the interim rating period, both through her design and execution of new initiatives and her innovative approaches to outreach and promotion of existing lines of effort. She undertook this work while simultaneously leading a shorthanded Europe team responsible for oversight of Ukraine programming, by far the bureau’s largest allocation of foreign assistance.
She continued to play a key role in showcasing and applying what continues to be the bureau’s landmark effort to hold Russia accountable for atrocities in its ongoing invasion of Ukraine.
Due in part to her efforts and in recognition of extraordinary innovation, the team won the Department’s annual Data Diplomacy award, based of a nomination justification that she drafted.

She is till on track for the African Safari trip in October together with a group of her friends
