Good (Saturday) morning. Overnight Low of 9C and it's presently 14.1C with a gentle breeze and the sun has just poked out from the clouds.

Yesterday's quick trip into town to retrieve a case of Pinot Noir was followed by a relaxing day around the property. It should be a repeat for today. :)

That's about it, take care all.

Good evening. Been a warm week, no rain yet. Keeps missing us.

Being a bachelor this week. Wife is spending the week with her sister in OC, MD. Been doing some things to the bikes. Did some maintenance, took a ride, then sat down, had a beer and stared at it for a while. BSA really got this one right

Everyone stay safe out there

Good evening all. 81ÂşF to start the day, overcast with rain showers nearby, light breeze. light wind, moderate gusts, .05 inch in rain gauge, overcast did break up some, and high temp was 96ÂşF, HI 105ÂşF. Low temp during rain of 78ÂşF. putter to start day, bike ride then lunch/cool down, then to garage to replace shredded belt. Can't get belt fingers off without removing drive axle, and that is a fair amount of work. Mower is about 70% reassembled, need to figure what I did wrong last time to avoid shredding new belt. Did decide I had seated enough for one day and took nap. Dinner at Mexican restaurant was good and finished Stage 13 of the Tour after dinner.

Coffee in cooling in cup. 66° with rain and thunderstorms this morning. Heading to 76° with continued thunderstorms. Got grass mowed. Did it while still wet with dew. Forecast rain never showed up. Installed UV light on garden pond pump system. This should clear water up with adding any algae control. Grand Daughter high school graduation party today.

good morning all, pretty warm and sticky out already and more summer wet weather coming in.
Hope to get grass mowed this morning, showers predicted almost every day.

had a nice time with brother, sent him home with a fifth of vodka brewed by Les Cheneaux distillery in Cedarville MI, where I stayed last week.
And some cherry tomatoes and blackberries fresh out of the garden.
He is off with his entire family, ten of them, to Turks and Caicos next week.
I have walked the seven mile beach there. Well.....I tried to, turned about about half way, many years ago

no plans for today

just wrote multi thousand dollar check for long term care insurance. Living alone, only siblings to get stuck with me, felt it was important that
I have this so as not to be a burden on family. Care is about 9-10 grand a month around here. I figure over last almost 20 years I have paid in about
60 grand in premiums. As I get older, it's a betting game. With my financial planning background, I know it's important to have this but still cringe writing that check.
And while I'm writing my check to Mass Mutual (a very fine mutual insurance company) my older BIL was emailing me asking about his LTCI. He's paying about 12 grand a year for both he and his wife, but there are reasons. I got them insured when others couldn't, she has some neurological issues that really worry the insurance companies.
I suggested he reduce his policy from unlimited term (not sure they even write them any more) to about six years to save some money. They are 80+ and at some point, the healthy for sure are supporting the unhealthy. But that's the way the system works...

many ltci policies have care at home provisions. So...if your spouse has dementia, he/she can stay at home (maybe) and not have to be institutionalized.
bottom line is you can only apply for this coverage when you are really healthy. Or like life insurance you get rated and it's very expensive. 25 years ago an ortho in doylestown told me I'd likely be in a wheelchair in ten years. Needless to say, that handwriting on the wall motivated me to get covered. I'm still dragging myself around but am very glad I have the coverage. Costs have gone way up, folks are living longer, care is better, and care is way more expensive than folks imagine.
When I got sick three years ago, with my six month deductible, no claim was made. But company was put on notice and they were prepared to pay. Happily at 5 1/2 months I escaped medical lockup and got out on my own. One claim I was very happy not to make. But paying 8k a month for assisted living in NC was a real wakeup call.

per Amazon, Sassy should be very happy today

have a great weekend

got billing from PA EZPass. Between the Ohio Turnpike and the PA Turnpike, cost me almost 90 dollars in tolls to drive from Michigan to Philadelphia.
PA turnpike tolls just nuts for rv. Next time, back to Route 80
One of the tolls was 43 bucks, from Ohio to Lancaster. Too bad there aren't toll collectors any more, I used to ask them if they were providing a meal
at those rates... ;)
