I ran up to the farm after lunch yesterday. I have been trying to be mindful of the heat but I still want to do stuff. I'm trying to stay hydrated and not do too much in the afternoon. Anyway I mowed the lane and the meadows. It looks a lot better when you release the deck lift.
I love mowing in the summer but by goodness it is growing fast.

I have been noticing this clinking sound on the truck since I got it back from service. I only hear it with the window open at very slow speed. I tracked it down to broken plastic clips in the hub cover. Now I need 2. I lost the other one to potholes in Maine. The clips were probably broken on that one when they rotated the tires last year.

I need to do something about the scrapes in the boat bottom where we encountered a rock. I looked at it again yesterday and it doesn't look as bad as I feared.

Daugen, nice shot of your Farmall, those tractors are true classics, just a pretty and handy little machine ! Also wanted to mention that my now deceased BIL lived across the river from New Hope,Pa. He used to say he was in New Hope but actually was in NJ. One night Kathleen and I walked down the road and across a foot bridge over the Delaware to a very nice restaurant in New Hope !

Kilroy JC, Im pretty sure I dont have that at the end of my rainbow !
But I do have a beer refrigerator in the barn !

Good morning! 79˚F clear skies, heading 104˚.

First full day of water restrictions. The Text and email notification from the town included mentioning the $300 fine and the number to report your neighbors if they do not comply, the smart water meters we have also can track the time and amount of water use.
Got my before 7am minimal hand watering done.
Still no rain for July but our first chance is predicted for the 24th, (40%). Every day before then will be in the hundreds.

People are really staring to question the politicians who approve new development. It's getting feisty as people watch their yards die.

I finally did my PTO flippy thingy. I started working on site with the eggbeater drill, but then realized it was only a single cotter pin and made my life easier by taking it home and putting it on the drill press:

The original red one had ears that were too short to clear the bracket the handle went through. This *should* work…

in looking for that Farmall picture, I decided to do what I've been reminding myself to do,
keep track of all the tractors. I had four on the farm in NC. Some I needed, some I wanted...
a little hard to believe they are all gone, except for my Gravely.
But my spring chicken pass has expired. Buckeye's Dad is an inspiration though.

80 outside this AM. Already broke a sweat and need another t-Shirt.

I grabbed the wife yesterday and left town. LOL. We hiked up in the Shenandoah NP dodging some t-Storms on the mountain tops.


Then hit a favorite BBQ and donuts place of ours. It tied up the day. Sort of messed with the horses feeding schedule, but hey..they are out on pastures and can deal with it. Even in the dark they were lined up waiting by their feed buckets.

Today...ugh...still hot. Have a recliner coming sometime today for the daughters back. That should free up space and time in my house. LOL.

Hope all handle the weather conditions today, be careful in the heat and humidity. And have a nice day. LOL.
