hot turkey sandwiches with gravy and cranberry; now that's comfort food. My SIL made a sandwich so big for me I could only eat half, saving the rest for a little later. Stuffing myself two days in a row is not good for the waistline.
Just took a nice drive down Rt 17 in Fauqier County to the town of Warrenton. I had hoped to get the dually washed in a self squirt place there. Well, I found it fine, and it was full of trucks. All good!
Well, not so good...no water on the ground and the trucks upon further inspection are carpentry trucks rebuilding the whole place. Nice timing. Ok, so I tried the next car wash and yes they would do hand washing but they were all backed up. Fine, I'll do it when I get home, truck will just be dirtier then anyway.
temps are staying in the low 30's, beautiful day with big fluffy clouds flying by and an occasional snow flurry to just look pretty. When I get home tomorrow there is supposed to be a nice stretch of clear weather for awhile, so good for getting things done. My older brother and I went to the local TSC and a hometown ag supply place, and one knew what a bulb auger was, and didn't have it, and the other had no clue. Well always fun to go in these places and they were decked out for Christmas. This is high end horse country, much of it 50 acre zoning, and there are something like thirty wineries within a close confined area of Northern Va. Virginia Beef is a huge cattle company locally and run many of the cattle farms here, or rent out the fields from wealthy DC politicians, judges, the whole gamut lives "out here" and commute into DC.
I had a nice dinner here last night with my oldest brother and his wife, and their son. They have sold their old farm and are downsizing substantially to a place nearby that backs up to a 10 thousand acre nature preserve. Very hilly here, more than just rolling hills, and lots of rock outcroppings.
hope you all are having a quiet day while the lady folk go bonkers in pursuit of some new toy or 90 percent off sales...
