67F and .74 inches rain last 24 hours.

About 2 dozen coming over for our annual TDay potluck. 2 turkeys, ham, several stuffings, assorted other fixins and desserts. It will be an eating kinda day LOL

Thankful - you betcha.

It was the Sunday before Thanksgiving in 1998 when suddenly life took a turn - Sophie was in a head-on that resulted in 5 months in the hospital. I often joke, that God looked down and said, "I love ya, Soph, but not ready for you up here yet". Thank you, God, I wasn't ready to let her go yet either. Guess with my birthday just 2 days later soon to be followed with TDay the reminders are sort of built in.

Life is great. Lots of blessings each and everyday. When we found this property in Hawaii in 2003 our 1st choice was to name it Blessings from God. Local language guru advised it would not be considered as appropriate, hence Makana Mai Ka Lani - Gifts from Heaven.

Today will be especially thankful, friends, family, and good times.

Happy Thanksgiving. 1145, sunny, 58F with 49% humidity. Forecast high of 57F with 0% chance of rain this afternoon, and a low of 42F tonight. Louis L'amour caused me to stay up too late last night to be in the shooting house early. By the time I got out the wind had already picked up, so I didn't see anything. Margie and I did have a nice walk down to the graveyard to say hello to our family who are no longer with us. We are doing the big meal tomorrow night so BIL can spend today with his grandkids. Margie has still spent most of the morning in the kitchen. I will cook a big pot of peas later to have some for supper and the rest for tomorrow night.

I made the mistake of turning on the PC before I had finished my cardio and lifting. I can not promise I will get back to it either. But I did stack a few low calorie days in anticipation of the holiday eating.

Everyone enjoy the time with family, friends, food and football.

Well, just finished Thanksgiving dinner and now have a very full belly!

I cleared off my drive, my neighbors (two of them) and most of the cul-de-sac we live on (since the township plow did such a half assed job) this morning.
The snow was pretty wet and my blower chute clogged up continously.
My wife, step-daughter and her guests (on and off boyfriend and his brother) are going to watch a movie...I'm going to take a nap

yummy smells are coming from the kitchen of my sister in law, in their home in Delaplane VA.
a bit of sleet just came down, pretty raw out. Good day to stay in, drive up here went pretty easily, and then I took a nap so am ready to investigate those yummy smells.

Blessings to all our soldiers in foreign lands who can't be with their families. We raise a glass to you.

Ending up with a foot of snow. Got out there early to clear the paved 400' driveway which was easy. Now the gravel road with an unfrozen base... Not so much. 7 shear bolts later, the family came up and grads on enjoyed the winters first snowfall. Great day with family.

Great tribute to the troops Drew, we sure are fortunate to have them overseas trying to protect us.

Weather for the future looks to be on mild side thru about December 8th or so before cold weather and storms reload and may hit us pretty hard. Maybe a little easier on power bill. Great Thanksgiving dinner now to go watch some football

Had a nice Thanksgiving here too. Mom's oven runs a bit, well about 100* over the set temperature, but I worked with that. The fresh, gold-plated, $68 turkey :laughing: was very good. I think it weighed about 23 lbs, no weight given on the package. Ate too much of course. That second helping of mashed potatoes, gravy and turkey are deadly.

After her new clothes dryer gets delivered in the morning--her old one died last Friday--I need to see about the oven. It's always something.

We had around a foot of heavy, wet snow last night at home, not sure what driveway horrors await me there but I anticipate a 3' tall hump of hard frozen plow snow across the entrance.

Cats do love to soak up the heat. It seems like cold is just something they put up with most of the time.

moved lots of snow around yesterday and spent most of the day watching TV or napping
Just looked outside and we have another inch or two on the ground and it is snowing.

Good Morning. 0505, clear, 31F with 98% humidity. Forecast high of 55F with 0% chance of rain this afternoon, and a low of 30F tonight. Sunrise is at 0617, so I can {legally} start hunting at 0547. I'm waiting to the last second to put on all my cold weather gear. Nothing worse than sweating before you go out in the cold. It's not windy right now. Hope it stays that way when the sun comes up.

We are doing the big meal tonight, so I still haven't indulged, while all of you guys are on the road to recovery. Margie is already working on it. And she spent a good deal of yesterday in the kitchen as well.

I forgot to listen yesterday. That has been one of my Thanksgiving traditions for years. Gulf 104, the classic rock station out of Tallahassee always play it at noon on Thanksgiving day. I heard Arlo doing an interview not long ago. He said if he couldn't get work the rest of the year, he could always count on being booked on Thanksgiving. {he has recorded a CD of some of Woody's songs that were never recorded}
