Sorry to here about your dog. Hopefully it is not that serious. Took our dog to the vet in the spring for her shots, wife told the vet that the dog was drinking a whole lot. Vet said the dog sounds like it is going into kidney failure and probably would only last a few weeks. At 14yrs old we thought we would just let her go peacefully without any major medical procedures. Well it's almost September and the old girl is still going strong, so you never know what will happen. So good luck.

Excessive drinking is a symptom of hypothyroidism too, along with weight gain and a general lack of ambition. Easily treatable with pills, sometimes difficult to get a good diagnosis using the standard panels. We went through that with our older male and it took a while, but he's fine for the past two years now. He gets his two daily pills on a dab of peanut butter--life is good.

Nice morning here, sunny with a breeze and yesterday's sticky air has moved out.

Today's chores are checking the air bladder pressure on the well pressure tank and cleaning some moss/algae off the vinyl siding on the north wall of the house. Sharon is going to make bread and butter pickles from our garden cukes.

I'm no vet but in my opinion, my wife change the type of treats she was giving the dog to a healthier treat for older dogs and I think that was what was causing the dog to drink more. She seems to be fine and the drinking has slowed down. I guess sometimes what is supposed to be healthier for the dogs can somtimes cause other problems.

Good to hear. I was just tossing it out there in case you noticed a continuing issue. It isn't easy to know or trust what is healthy for our dogs, so much really bad food and treats out there.

Happy birthday, Bill. Turning 62 and 65 are two times to celebrate at a time in our lives when occasions to celebrate are rare.

I hope Bubba can pull through this with success. Lots of us ol' dogs on this site can identify with his struggles.

Our weather is pretty steady and hot, but not scorching. Mid to high 90s F are the norm. We have a slight chance of a storm this weekend, but most garden and yard watering will be out the end of a hose.#

Good morning all. 75F forecast for 89F and dew-point is up to 68F so heat index is rising. Picking up new shower doors today and have to get them installed so we can shower in our bathroom again .
