67 degrees @ 11:30 AM with mostly sunny skies, headed up to a sweltering 72 degrees for a high.
It was actually chilly enough that I wore a jacket when I headed up to the shed last light after dinner.
Things seem like they are rapidly coming together up there.
I got a snot load of fasteners sorted and put away yesterday, blowing thru another 96 drawer dividers in the process ... so I'll need to order a few more ... unless some magically turn up (I was cleaning in the basement the other day and found a bag full of cleaned drawers for the storage cabinets ... but no dividers)
Most of what is left to sort and put away is washers ... except for the machine screws - and there's a good sized wad of those ... and they're small, so there's a bunch of 'em. I think they are going in a drawer, to be saved for a winter project.
Got the angle all trimmed out for the sawhorse legs and cut some 1/4" plate for the feet. Cut a couple of sections of 2" Schedule 80 and 1/2" plate for tool stands, along with some 3/8" round stock for die holders. Also cut some 1/4" plate to use for a drop-down caster mechanism for the small 2' x 2' welding table. Vacuumed off the scaffold platform and cut a piece of cardboard to fit it to keep it from getting all crudded up, and then reloaded it with cut steel and pieces/parts for current projects. Makes a nice rolling table.
Primed and got a first coat of paint put on the pipe jig bases. Filed tool & equipment manuals in the little rolling cabinet I brought up from the house. Could probably use another one of those cabinets, as the file folder drawer is almost full and I'm still not done filing.
Drilled and tapped the work piece index stop for the bandsaw ... which had an entirely retarded design (set screw was on the bottom, rather than on the side ... which would allow for easy access) Need to make a trip up to McMaster-Carr later to return the wrong hold-down clamp for the angle adjustment for the bandsaw I ordered and pick up the correct one ... it's metric thread (duh) ... not USS ...
For some reason or another, the grass is continuing to grow ... so I guess I'm going to have to remove the loader and put on the MMM ... but not before dropping the bucket up at the shed so the brackets can be cut off and attaching the pallet forks.
Also managed to remember to refill the bird feeders ... out of sunflower seed at the moment ... the cheap seed doesn't to be quite as popular with the locals, except for the dang house sparrows ...
