Good morning!!!!

Drinking first cup of coffee. 26° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 51° with mostly sunny skies. GD did a great job cleaning house yesterday. We cleared furniture out of 3 rooms and she scrubbed floors. I need a rest. But I forgot about doing my usual Christmas shopping for myself. So I am going to do some shopping for a exercises bike and bigger telephoto lens for camera.

Roy, forgetting to take a vacation day?

Mostly, good you made your goal for the year.

Eric, Christmas Crackers here in the states would look like a red and green saltine cracker. Oh my, Christmas Cracker can be purchase on Amazon. :confused3:

Don, my aunt is doing good on the walker. Her problems is when she sits down somewhere. She shoves walker off in a corner. Then when she needs to get up forgets that she should be using walker. I need to spend a week with her and work on reminding her to leave it where it was when she lasted used it. Her DD arrived yesterday. She will keep after her until after Christmas.

Buckeye, big TV. I checked. A 75" will fit where I currently have a 65". Prices have really dropped.

Rick, you sure have nice equipment to keep your place like a park.

Good Morning All.

Good Morning!!!! 50F @ 4:45AM in Indio, CA. A steady rain this morning. Showers continuing this afternoon. High 58F. Winds light and variable. Chance of rain 80%

Yesterday's ride started in Kernville, at the north end of Lake Isabella. A pretty little town with a little micro brewery, and a couple of bars to boot. I'm not much of a bar person, but I hung out with one of my riding buddies while the other one hit the sack early. We called it a night when the very loud music started playing and we could no longer hold a conversation.

Had to tighten the steering bearings on the touring bike, a simple job in the parking lot with the right tools, which one of my friends had brought along. Copies of them are now in my todo list, too. Other than that, things have been going pretty smoothly, well up until we arrived at the motel today. Some misunderstanding over the rooms, and continuing degrading of facilities under new management. Since we're getting rain today, we'll probably use Uber to get around, probably to the air museum in Palm Springs. Maybe keep an eye out for a new motel for next year along the way.

Good morning. It's 34° here this morning with very light winds and a heavy frost. The high should be about 70° this afternoon.

I cleaned up what was "old burn pile" #8 to create "new burn pile" #4. I was hoping to get some rain on the ash before messing with it but no luck. It was nasty dealing with the dry ash and I need to blow out the radiator this morning.

Today is Festivus 2019 ... but do you say "Happy Festivus" ... or "Merry Festivus" ???

Festivus: How to celebrate in 5 easy steps - CNN

Roy ... OOPS! Thomas ... makes a good point.

Eric ... I hear two donkeys braying ... at feeding time every day. I'm familiar with Christmas Crackers after 4 years in the UK ... back in the 70's ... think I still have one in a box some where.

RNG ... glad you're "enjoying" your wet ride. Be safe!

Hoping everyone has a nice Christmas Eve ... Eve.

Prayers to all

Coffee done, time to head out and get my new ATV winch. Old one died, and need a new one for the ATV plow. Going up to the cottage for a week, later today. SWMBO wanted to make sure I got an extra string of lights on the garage, so our daughter could see it when we arrive tonight in the dark.

Weather is actually going to be pretty nice up there for Christmas, so it should be a good time. Neighbours also have a New Year’s Eve skating party, and that is always a real hoot. Well the problem is, we have to leave right at the stroke of midnight to take the dog down the road, so he’s not traumatized by the fireworks immediately after!

Merry Christmas everyone! Only a couple of days now.

Is anyone having Christmas ham instead of Christmas turkey? I think we are going to go with ham this year.

Ron will be interesting to see how she handle the backward brake usage. Somebody made a bicycle with backward steering. Made for some interesting videos :D
prayers for all.

When you are falling the tendency is to grab, which could result in no brakes and the walker moves. Not sure how that will work out.

We are having Christmas Instant Pot Tamales!

Good morning! 32˚F heavy frost, we will call it Texas snow. Sunny heading to the 70s. A few store runs today.

19ーF and foggy this morning, going up to 31ー today.

The snow event that ambled through the area Sunday might and Monday left adventure in its wake. What was originally supposed to be 1-3" ended up being nearly 8". I left work early Monday - as did everyone else - to get out ahead of any traffic snarls. Only took an extra 1/2 hour to get home, not too bad. However, it took nearly two hours to get my car up the driveway.:( I got about 10 feet in from the road and started spinning. Brought the tractor down and cleaned most of the snow from the rest of the driveway, then shoveled out around the car. Still no love. Wife came out and drove while I pushed, no progress. That was some seriously slickery snow. Ended up finally pushing it up the driveway with the tractor bucket. Left work at 2:30pm, got home a little after 4pm, and finally got it in the garage at 6pm.

Sent the boss a text to let him know I would not be in yesterday.

We got some more snow overnight that re-covered everything The Wife and I cleaned. Where I dug out the food bowls in the chicken coop yesterday morning, it measured 7-3/4". That's a lot of snow for December around here. I re-scraped the upper driveway, cleared the lower (flatter) driveway in case we need to use it, and cleared the neighbors' driveway across the road. I also spread about 20 lbs of ice melt pellets on the questionable spots of the driveway.

The heater in that cab almost turns it into an oven. I had to turn it down to half, as I was starting to sweat and steam up the glass. Definitely glad we got the cab.

Made a big pan of lasagna for The Wife last night. Her birthday was Sunday, and we opted not to venture out for dinner due to the weather. Plan B was my lasagna, which she loves. Happy Wife = Happy Life.

Glad to see Randy is recovering well. The pig-turned-cow jokes are over the top, just as expected.

Good to see wngsprd is recycling his rodents back into the predators' diets. Our skunks seem to have moved on. No evidence of them on the game cams over the last week, and no tracks in the snow around the barn or coop.

Hope your wife is recovering well, Jay.

Happy belated birthday Mrs PJ!

No coffee this morning. 13?ー with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 33?ー with mostly sunny skies. Found a good deal on a better lens for my camera. So I drove down to Ann Arbor to pick it up. Then came back to conserve energy. My weather station shows temperature got to 3?ー about 10 pm last night. Glad the clouds moved in an warmed it up a little.
Annual Wellness Checkup with Dr this morning. Then back home for my allotted coffee. No other plans for the day.

PJ, belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY for Mrs PJ.

Bunyip, 117?ー F is way to hot. Stay hydrated and cool as possible.

Drew, be careful fixing the wreath lights.

Kyle, I am sure some of us to hire you to get rid of the skunks if you need a side job.

Looking, I remember friends in Canada complain about income taxes that are collected before you even get to pay those high amounts for everything.

Hawkeye, hope the transition starts to go smoothly.

Jay, get a good nights sleep.

Thomas, moving trail Cams?

Prayers and best wishes to all.

Good Morning All.
I could use some side work....if there were another 4 hours in a day. ;)

Glad J and wifey are safely back.

BEF, sorry bout your dad selling off his last calf. Glad you are feeling better.

I hear Randy has a special place in his heart for calves these days, maybe he would take one... Bad attempt at humor.....
Randy, I'll let you know when the CO-OP has a deal on ranch cubes. :)

It took me hours to catch up. Only getting to read here and there a bit.

Off today. Taking some stuff to donate to a resale shop that helps young pregnant girls with expenses and prayers.

25°F and partly cloudy this morning, going up to 54° today.

Quiet weekend around our place. Wife spent most of her time working on crochet and sewing projects, and I spent most of it reorganizing in my studio and setting up a couple of new projects.

Her oldest son came over Friday night for dinner - he loves her chicken and dumplings - and stuck around late. We ended up playing several rounds of the game Clue, and then several rounds of Yahtzee. I've never been much on games, but I had to admit it was kind of fun.

Nice information on your hearing aids, Eric. I'm most interested in your newfound ability to hear music better, of course.

We have three televisions in our house, which seems to me to be a lot for a couple who don't watch much TV. The main one in the downstairs living room is ... well, I don't remember how big it is, but it's certainly not huge. We have a second smaller one in The Wife's sewing room, which mostly serves to provide background noise for her while she sews. The third one we put in the downstairs guest room earlier this year. It was the lightest television I've ever held. I'll bet it doesn't even weigh 10 pounds. After I got it mounted on the wall opposite the bed (all three TVs are wall mounted now), we laid on the bed to get it set up. It didn't take long for us both to look at each other with the stark realization that this cheapy television we bought on sale at Walmart for about $100 has a better, sharper, more brilliant picture than the other two more expensive units. Go figure.

I sometimes get on autopilot myself, Roy. Not long ago, I got up one morning and started to get ready for work. When I gave my Wife a hard time about staying in bed late, she mumbled something about me not usually going to work on a Saturday morning. I also occasionally miss an exit when we're driving somewhere, as the "autopilot" in my head is busy guiding me to work instead.

Short work week; today, and half a day tomorrow. Same for next week.

Happy Hanukkah to those who are celebrating it.

Good morning to all! Low of just 31, going up to 55. Weather will be changing tomorrow. Now we have a chance of mixed precipitation here, maybe snow on Christmas morning, but then some rain showers.

Mostly, I figured since you hit the 6K mark, you would now be taking a break.... going for 6500?

Roy, I agree with Thomas.... If you go into work when you are supposed to have a vacation day, it is time to rethink the retirement plan early.

Check, we are having ham AND turkey! Along with one of my favorite foods... home made pierogies. Made old school way with a recipe passed down from wifey s GG grandmother. I eat way too many of them... but it is usually just a once a year thing, so....

What is everyone ‘ s favorite holiday food?

Another of my favorites is potato latkes...mmm, mmmm.

RNG, hope you stay at the degrading motel works out. Enjoy the rest of the trip!

Drew, chicken pot pie sounds great. I do like them also, some have been really bad.... chemical tasting. Now only home made for me!

Talked to a neighbor from the next road over yesterday. He was telling me about his other neighbor who is protesting to the county and trying to block his building project (30 x 40 steel building). He is well within the guidelines, doing everything above and beyond the requirements. He said that she took pictures of me and also my neighbor working on OUR road, telling the county that his project was also causing us problems.... WOW, we are being spied on and implicated in something not affecting us at all! I told him to let me know when the hearing will be, I will go to provide some defense for him.

The funny side of this, is the troublesome neighbor told him that this was a retirement community , and said that a building like that does not belong. She then asked him if his realtor had told him that. He laughed at her and asked her why they were the ONLY retired folks in the subdivision......
All of the lots over there are 5 + acres and at least half have horses and other animals... some people......

Everyone have a pleasant day. Prayers sent.
