Grass is growing out there, may need to mow a few high spots. I contracted with a lawn care company for 5 treatments including grub control and fertilizer. I can’t seem to get rid of the grubs or the moles. Very frustrating. Never had any issues at out Vermont property other than having to shoot a ground hog in the field occasionally.
Funny, well not really, you should mention moles. They seem to have relocated to our property. I could count on one hand over the decades the tunnels and pop ups.

This year someone let loose the moles of war. They are everywhere, front, back, sides, gardens, walkways, pastures, rings, everywhere. Even the gravel driveways!

Tripping and walking hazards for sure.

Good morning! 67˚F heading to the 90s with cloudy skies and S wind.

Mowed and trimmed the yard yesterday morning, grass and weeds are growing fast. Went to Waco yesterday afternoon to the Magnolia silos. Uneventful. When we were in Houston we found some NO-OIL chips at Whole Foods, they are made in Texas. They are TATEMADA® | Clean Mexican Eats - Salsas, Oven Baked Totopos & Tostadas Stopped in Salado on the way back from Waco but all they had was the Salza not the chips.

sounds like those moles need some natural predators, bigger ones...
Don, that place needs a coat of paint

Drew, Easter junk is way better than some of the junk I have ingested over the years. I especially like pan eggs. Hard sugar coated coloured outer shell and softer pure sugar inside. Really good for my A1C. At least I don't have to worry about rotting out my teeth.
Maybe a dark chocolate bunny. I don't care for milk chocolate.

Morning all, 54 going to 78 and cloudy.
Dropped son off at 4am for his school trip and he should be on the plane by now to Florida.
Got my new truck last night, 2022 Audi Q7 in Ice White.

Rained between when I got home and 6:30 when I got up again.

Wow Phil , now that's a lathe. Looking forward to more amazing wood works.

Ron - always nice to have first cup of coffee with your great pictures.

Happy - happy birthday to the mrs.

Buppies - hope they get Hollys meds balanced out,

Be well,

9ish in the AM.
I was up until after 2AM watching Secondhand Lions with Robert Duval.
Some how I had missed it and stumbled upon it last night.
It was OK but it had potential to be excellent. Still kept me up.
Now the neighbor calls and wakes me at the crack of 8:30.
People got no consideration..
Going shopping for a few things.
Bunch of things to do once it dries off outside after yesterdays rain.

nice Q7 Ken. I think you'll really like it.

I saw this

Hourly Shop Rate

Our general shop hourly rate is $300
per hour for services like hand sanding,
planing, and more.

on local woodworker website.

Phil, does your wife know how valuable you are?... ;)

on this day cultivating and picking collards in Washington NC
two helpers from food pantry helped me several days.
When we packed 1000 pounds of collards, all the boxes were weighed,
we called it quits. Pure stoop labor.

I would cultivate with Super A, and then harvest with the little Massey. That tote on back
was used all the time

69°F and no rain. Another dry day.

Off to Hilo this morning. Sophie has an eye followup.

A pleasant HH yesterday. Last minute venue change due to Merrie Monarch Festival. This is our big, annual Hula event in Hilo. Will be watching the competition on TV end of the week.

Word from Amazon my oil cooler has shipped, still expected Friday, so I will wait rather than installing the smaller one. Just hope I’m not setting myself for the usual Delayed, Lost, arrives 2 weeks later scenario.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Mike, frustrating a best 😉

Drew, we have hawks but I’m not sure how interested they are in moles 😃
We did have a red fox go through the yard early this morning, I’m not sure he is interested either 😉

I'm surprised.
years ago while mowing a friend's farm fields, I would stir up voles and moles in the field.
there was constant swooping of hawks trying to pick one up.
maybe chicken is light meat and foxes don't like dark vole?...
I'd think they ate most little critters.

got the lawn mowed on an increasingly warmer day, time to take off long sleeve shirt.
Azaeleas just starting to open.

headed to dermatologist late this afternoon for an asst to check mole on my back.
since last time I went in there between visits, it was a tick embedded in my back; that skeeved me so
much I don't take any chances now. Just can't see it and with fused neck challenging no matter what.

decided to take Buckeye's suggestion and put a coat of spar poly on the teak table topper.
will do a couple more. I have fine grit sandpaper to use between coats.

I asked an old timer at hardware store, actually the old owner who was just subbing for a few hours in retirement, whether
there was a big performance increase using the oil version or the water version. He suggested the water and sure easier to clean the brush.
something tells me bottom line the oil base might be a tougher finish but ?

Good Morning
54° and foggy this morning. Fog is already burning off, forecast is for partly sunny to clear and 75.

Didn’t accomplish anything yesterday other than the trips to the Vineyard and Akron. Our timing was good, we landed in Akron in between bands of weather, and passed over top of them on our way home.

However things did get accomplished in my absence. The arborvitae got planted around the propane and diesel tanks, and Zoe got groomed. It was interesting that the groomer used our shower rather than her truck. Apparently we built the perfect dog grooming bay and disguised it as an ADA accessible walk in shower.

Today will start with breakfast with the professor, some shop time after that, and then off to the airport after lunch for a round trip to Palm Beach. This should be the last trip for a few weeks or more, I need the time to get some stuff done around here. Alpaca shearing is Thursday, need to get ready for that.
Yup, ADA walking showers are adaptable. Ours served as whelping area for Kalani’s 2 litters of pups. Perfect size, easy to clean, convenient.
