Cody looks gorgeous.

found where the mess will be, clearly this has happened before
now I have to move half my office out of the way and cover most of it with towels.

Would almost make sense for them to frame that out and put in an access for future. I spec'd access panels when ours was built for ease of access.

Found out my A1C is high. They have never ran that number before in all my tests. Now to wait and see what the Dr says.

when I had to replace my shower valve, access hole was in wrong place, it was only to access the shut off valves, which by then didn't work. I ended up taking out a slightly larger area, replaced the shower valve and the shut off valves with ball valves.

spent yesterday picking out pictures to send to TV reporter who will interview Dad for his 101st Bday. I learned a lot about where dad was by the writing on the back of the pictures. never had pulled them out of the album before.

Here's a picture dad took of Saint Trond (Sint Truiden) Belgium in Dec 1944 compared to street view today.

Morning all;
Thanks for all the well wishs, Got home late afternoon yesterday.
Supposed to only lift 15 pounds for two weeks, we'll see how that goes.
It is quite amazing when they finally decided it was time to operate,
they needed to wait for the Xarelto to get out of my system, so they waited to Sunday to remove the gallbladder.
When they put me under I'm slow waking up apparently. Amazing 5 little cuts to remove an organ and able to walk that same day. But 3 days of a clear liquid diet was a royal pain. Then all the warnings about the dire straights I'd be in if I don't follow their diet plans for a few weeks.
But up walking and complaining is good, still waiting for an oncology appointment, getting a bit antsy about that.

All get better and stay safe

Good morning from San Francisco airport.
66°F and 3.41 inches rain back home on the Big Island.
Managed to get everything done and make the plane yesterday.
Sitting in the Polaris lounge right now enjoying a ligt breakfasr, but more importantly, coffee.
Another 5 hours before boarding starts for next leg.
Probably just surf the web a bit.

Prayers for all
Be Safe
Have a great day

Good Morning!!!! 52F @ 9:00AM. Cloudy with light rain this morning. High 61F. Winds NW at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 70%.
Funny, there was no rain in yesterday's forecast, and I almost put off mowing yesterday. Glad I didn't.

Not even gonna try to catch up on 20 pages of posts, so I hope everyone enjoyed this past weekend. The camping was dry at Death Valley this year, partly because the organizers delayed the event by a month. The wind was the news, as it flattened a few tents on Friday and filled most of them with alkali dust and grit. Kept a lot of us off our motorcycles, severely depleting the barley pop supply to the point that we had to venture out for resupply to Pahrump, NV for a dozen more cases. Bench racing is thirsty work! I hung out in camp, helping with odd jobs, one of which was collecting ice to keep the kegs cold. One 'head had it down pat, using a length of ABS pipe with an elbow at one end to feed ice into a bucket directly from the ice machine at the hotel.

Saturday I joined a group of long distance friends I see at events like this only a few times a year. We enjoyed the climb up to Dante's View overlooking the Badwater basin, which was covered with a fresh coat of salt from the rare floods last year. Temps were in the 60s at Furnace Creek where we were camped, but dropped into the 40s at the top of the climb.
dantesViewDV25.jpeg

On the way back we visited Zabriskie Point, a short uphill walk to a view of severely eroded yellow rock and mud that is very picturesque at low sun angles, but we were too early to bring out the best of the place. We did get a "had to lay 'er down" story from a Harley rider in the parking lot, though. One of the group suggested lunch at the Furnace Creek Inn, which features very good food and nice view of the Valley.

No less than two bikes refused to start after lunch; one because of a worn ignition key, the other due to a flat battery. One owner had a spare key back at camp, which was quickly fetched by a friend. The flat battery turned out to have a reserve function, but the owner had to remove several plastic panels to get to the magic reset button. Neither of them were Airheads, both suffered from complexity issues.

No issues on the trip, but I did manage to get a foot momentarily trapped under the ramp when I unloaded the bike yesterday from the van. Ouch.

Took the Camry in to the dealership for a complementary oil change and a something point check yesterday. I'd also noticed rattles in both doors and asked them to check those, too. I was supposed to get a complementary shuttle home and back, but the shuttle driver never showed up and they were done in an hour. They couldn't find the rattles, and when I got home, the dip stick showed that the oil was over filled. I won't be going back to that dealership again.

I'll use today's wet weather to do some housekeeping and to gather tools and supplies for the trip north this weekend. Might run a few errands, too.

Morning all;
It's been an interesting past week and weekend.
Got results from a PET scan, a couple of "hot" lymph nodes likely from my previous prostate cancer so waiting for a call from Oncology for the next step on that. Had been scheduled for a new knee today.
But, that went by the wayside after getting the scan results, so canceled that surgery. Then woke up at 2AM Friday with stomach pain that wouldn't subside, so about 1PM went to urgent care, and they sent me to the ER which took the typical long time to get anything done. The end result was being admitted to the hospital and having my gallbladder remove yesterday now waiting to be discharged to home.

Especially with such a nice day outside, the sun shining 42F heading to 50F and a nice week forecast.

All stay safe and/or get well
That’s quite a day
Speedy recovery

Would almost make sense for them to frame that out and put in an access for future. I spec'd access panels when ours was built for ease of access.
if they had to cut, absolutely, I would have told them to leave it alone and I'd put a door there.
But....drum roll,I got lucky. End of shower head pipe had corroded and fallen apart.
plumber undid it all and screwed a new pipe in, all fixed.
so no mess in office, yeah
but it sure got cleaned anyway...

off to get a hair cut

47°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 75° today. Much better than yesterday, which started at 36° with a winter coat, and ended at 70° with the winter coat riding home on the back seat. 70s here the rest of the week.

Good news, heading in the right direction, Buppies.

RNG, that dust up you had out there rode the wind and made it all the way to the Midwest where it returned to the ground in the form of "dirty rain" across four states, including Illinois. Everything here was covered with little brown specks.

Good afternoon, gents.

Engineer has me thinking about a good little project though.
If I just got a premade white plastic door, reminds me of ones used on boats,
would not be hard to cut out sheet rock and insert new door.
but...why do it until it needs to be.
I was going to tell plumber if he had to open the wall up to just leave it be when done.
depends upon how much was opened.
thankfully cookie did not crumble that way.

I have pansies to plant but have run out of steam.

Good (Wednesday) morning. Overnight Low of 14.6C and it's presently 17.6C, overcast & calm with a fine mist. There was 0.2mm in the gauge @ 0900... every little bit helps.

Well, it's 'into town day' for groceries, plus I should get my scripts re-ordered at the Chemist. AND the Wine Faeries have been at it again with a couple of cases at the PO to collect.

That's about it, take care all.

/ Good morning!!!! #204,377
I have the older version of the Oatey access panel, that doesn't have the outer frame, but just a couple spring loaded clips that grab the drywall. The clips come undone real easy, and you lose the spring and clip behind the wall. Which is why I still have a couple small holes at the baseboard to retrieve such clips and springs, only to never have that piece of baseboard attached to cover the holes.....
