. Do you think the hydraulic cylinder would work if it were inverted? That's the way the one on my press is mounted, so I'd have to cobble together the base and springs to mimic how yours is.
The type of ram that is basically a hydraulic jack has the pickup for the pump in the base plate, so if that was on top, it wouldn’t work.

Good Morning. 38° with a high of 55 under partly cloudy skies.

Yesterday went well, took longer than I planned, but was still able to set up the 3D printer and make my first print. A dispenser for AA and AAA batteries.

I have drawings ready for a batch more projects, but unfortunately my day today will be consumed by another Palm Beach trip. This should be the last one for a while though.

36 outside right now, heading to mid 60's. Those temps should stir up the wild life and bugs.
Ran around towns doing errands and whatnot yesterday. Grabbed a bbq lunch with wife then took her home for a long walk. Found some more trees that are wood stove candidates this year. May go do that today, more chainsaw work. Might as well get them since the vegetation is still closed up.
Not much else on the agenda, real jobs, no comment...lots of changes.
Today looks like an outside day. Maybe a dump run, so exciting.

Hope all have a good day, be safe.

Good Morning,
Ct, 31 to start going to 50, but with all the clouds that may be a bit of a stretch!

Ron , nice work on your hitch and the tongs seem to be working well.
More than once I have used my loader bucket and 3/8” chain to drag logs from the woods or hedgerows and then either back up all the way to the barn to buck up the rounds or get the log out into the open field and cut it up there ! Your method would be less work !

Paul, nice job on the 3D printer battery dispenser! Can you use different types of material for your creations ! When I worked at Pitney Bowes we did a lot of Stereo Lithography work to create complex models for engineering. That really cut into our work load when we used polycarbonate to create pieces !

I got stuck at the Honda dealer yesterday, they came over to me and said the front brake pads were very low, so they resurfaced the front rotors and installed new pads ! I usually do all of that myself but wanted to get it done rather than sitting outside in the cold on a stool changing brakes ! 😉

Hoping to enjoy some of that warmer weather today, and watching to snow recede a little farther every day ! I even put a little wax on my F150 yesterday!

I'd love to turn the water back on outside to use the hose, wash the car, etc but temps are going back down soon enough.
Drew, have you considered frost proof bibs ? I have them on the front and back side of the house ! I never have to turn the water off to them ! It would involve a little plumbing but I do use the hose in the winter on those warmer days !

Hope all have a good Tuesday, looks like work tomorrow for me ! 🙏

Good Morning!!!! 48F @ 5:45AM. Sunny. High near 65F. Winds NW at 5 to 10 mph.

Thanks, Paul, I'll look into that one. I've already been impressed by other items made by Vevor (the breaker box I installed for Drew's RV was one of them). Just to be sure, though, which pedal valve did you order?

Realtor visit went well. I was impressed by his knowledge, and his idea to be present when buyer's realtors were touring the house. Addresses my security concerns, and also makes sure buyer knows more about the various systems in the place. If you live in the country with well and septic you get the drift. Have another one coming tomorrow, and a third on Thursday.

Went into town to pick up a door at HD, and found one pre-drilled for a door knob. Saves me buying a 1" spade bit, though for some reason the tool box up here had a hole saw the right size for the bigger hole. I just hope the hole in the new door was drilled at the same height as the old one. Fueled up the truck while I was there. Cheapest I could find was $4.85/gallon for #2.

Saw an announcement this morning that an old time hardware store called Callliers in Chico is closing down. The place is probably a hundred years old, and parts of it still had the original creaky wooden floor boards. It was one of those places where if you needed something, and they didn't have it, the probably don't make it anymore. They had bins for nails, nuts, and bolts so you could just buy one if that's all you needed, chain, rope and wire by the foot, and the people that worked there could tell you how to use the stuff they sold. But it was right in the middle of downtown, parking was a nightmare, and their prices were significantly more than HD or Lowes.

Today I hope to get the new door trimmed to size and the mortices done for the hinges, and a coat of paint or two applied. And get the sprayer mounted on the side-by-side and get going with some RM43. The weeds are busting out all over.

Ken I wish so as well refuses to go to doctor has run every time I’ve taken her. I just sit in chair all day long waiting for next bomb to hit. The only constant in her mind seems to be her mother who has been deceased for 22 years but she believes she is still alive. Very sad

My cylinder was single acting with a spring return, so I got the single spool version. If your cylinder is double acting (with two hoses), you need the two valve version.
I have been very happy with the Vevor stuff that I have gotten as well.

Good to hear that you have a competent realtor. My place is riddled with “unique” systems, it was always in the back of my mind how the next owner would deal with them.
That’s resolved by my youngest son ( the mechanical engineer) being the next owner.

Popgadget, very impressive battery holder

quick trip downtown on a warming morning to get Shingrex shot at drug store.
my landlady just go it so reminded me to get the updated two shot version. It's been more than ten years for me
so not a bad idea to get it updated. A truly miserable condition to get.

now headed out, think I will turn on water, yes Scott it is a frost proof, but the rubber hose underground sure isn't.
It may still be frozen, will see if ice chunks come out.
just have the itch to wash the car, get the salt haze off it.

I also want to work on the wheels, just the detailing part, detailer missed a number of spokes, poor job. I'm going to get buffing wheel and cordless drill and go to work with some cleaner wax

I still have two more realtors to interview, but the guy yesterday is gonna be hard to beat. IF he does what he sez he will.

You should have seen his eyes bug out when I got down the two 3" three ring binders that are stuffed with all the user and installation manuals for all the stuff here. Then I showed him the architectural plans, and then the notebook of procedures for the solar power system...

Thanks for the info on the hydraulic pump. Looking forward to that project once I get home.

The temperature was forecasted to go to 36 but it actually went to 40°F.
Town/dump run went good.
Got back and started relocating the snow and ice off the roof around the deck. My piles are higher now. Time to move to another snow dump. I have three more to fill up, plus both sides of the driveway. The pile on the deck was 3' high x 8' wide and 16' long. Junior shoveled it. I do NOT shovel if I can possibly help it.

Good (Wednesday) morning. Overnight Low of 14.4C and it's presently 22.2C [heading to 26C+], partly overcast with a slight breeze.

Mowing of house, driveway & front paddock accomplished yesterday.

It's 'into town' day for petrol and then groceries. I may stop off for a coffee with the Veterans prior to all that.

That's about it, take care all.

Don, friend of mine, one of our breakfast bunch, had a stroke day before christmas. His wife is just retired nurse. Ambulance came right away, and he was in hospital probably 30-40 minutes most after it happened, maybe sooner. He said whatever they gave him, it was instant effect on him. He was out in a couple days and has no effects from it. No pulled license, free to drive.
