26 outside right now, heading to mid 50's.

Spent the better part of the day yesterday in the woods again with the chainsaw. Then moved everything up to the splitter and split a few loads. Lots of trees down in the back woods and other than animal care nothing pressing on the agenda. Maybe more today. Need to run out sometime for house supplies.

Hope all have a great day, and, a good start to the work week. Be safe.

Good Morning Frits,

Good Morning! 37˚F heading to 77˚. Clear skies, S wind.

The covered outdoor plants did get nipped by the cold teen temps. I really don't know if the date trees will make it, but I'll give them a chance. The "Farms" tulip field blooming predictions are all off because of the freeze last week. FireWise is off this week and River Ranch county park Barbed wire removal is on. Still waiting for word when Berry Creek park work will resume.

Ron got my return from turbo tax e-file, took 8 days Brothers took 9 days, Whoever is in charge is really making the IRS employees work quickly this year.

Good morning, the low temp is 28 and going to a high of 37°F. Wind SSE 16 mph. Snow mixed with rain, about 1.5".

The pile in the picture is one of three that size. That pile stretches to the east about 20' or so.
Yes I do plow with the front window open about an inch or so. You cannot see the open window in that pic. After the interior gets warmed up (the engine is already warm), I turn the blower down to low and open the window.

The freezing rain that was forecast didn't happen. This is a good thing.
The rain that is coming will help to cut the snowbanks down some.

Today will be an energy conservation day.

Have a safe day all

Good Morning
It was 26° when I woke up, already up to 38 on its way to nearly 50 under a clear sky.

Yesterday i did manage to throw hay down for the loft before my trip to Palm Beach. The trip was uneventful except that the Mission BBQ near the airport closed to eat in, it’s all catering now.

Today, I’ve got to drop the transit connect off for four new tires and wheels. Then I’m supposed pick up a friend in Allentown and take them back to NE Philly. A perfect mission for the little plane.
FedEX says that the new 3D printer is out for delivery, so that should keep me busy after I get home.
Don’t have much else planned, which is good, I should be able to set up the printer when I get back home.

Morning all, 29 going up to 53 and sunny.
Did some general cleanup and built out the last chair from the kitchen nook order.
Got all the boxes cut up and ready for recycling
Then off to town to walk the dog.
The bridge btw New Hope and Lambertville is finally completed and open for all traffic.
Dog loves walking the bridge and greeting people.
Grilled steaks for dinner.

Need to start yard cleanup now that ground is starting to thaw. Want to get most of it done before it gets muddy.

Be well,

Had a great time hiking up Bird Knob to Emerald Pond with my son and our dogs yesterday. Great trail in the George Washington National Forest with a lot of snow remaining. Emerald Pond is near the top and is a spring-fed crystal-clear pond. Della went for a swim. Picked up fried chicken and fixin's at the Ice House on the way home so my wife wouldn't have to cook while babysitting Isabel. Bought 18 gallons of gas at $2.61 since Sheetz gave me a .50/gal incentive to "come back." I hadn't bought gas there in a long time, I guess.
you hike to some really neat places, never heard of that. Did get gas for $2.80 at sams club last week, most places here still above $3.

Oh no!! Enjoy the 3d printer, something I haven't ventured into. Thanks for Endoscope suggestion, although looks like that model not available right now.

great pics Ken.

nice breakfast downtown with brother, he was out walking earlier and was hobbling.
Guessing he overdid it. a few people stopped in while we were there, my brother knew them.
He just retired from owning town's largest accounting practice, and you get to know a lot of folks.
I used to own the town's main insurance agency and the Radio Shack, where you get to know a lot of folks.
And we both went to public school here all the way.
He was head of township supervisors, I was a local fireman and president of the library.

My brother's son is now on the school board so it continues.
My brother's wife taught english at our local school for 40 years and knows all the children.
so it is hard for my brother and I to sit down anywhere without someone coming up to say hi.
and we wouldn't have it any other way. We all need a place where we feel like we belong.
besides the smoked salmon on a bagel was only fair. Lot of it, had to bring half home.

going to get into the fifties this afternoon. I bet the forsythia pops.
c'mon Spring

Good Morning to All Who Celebrate! 47° heading to a high of 53° here, partly cloudy. A little frost on the truck this morning.

List has finally been wound down to almost zero: Farm Boss finally got some attention, just cleaned the air filter out and put back together. Idles fine now. Glad that was nothing serious. Swapped snow-push for bucket to burn the collection of boxes that accumulate in the garage. Left the blade on as there's some dirt that needs to be scraped flat whenever the ground un-freezes. Still need to look at the 100 hour service for the tractor. Finally hit 100 hours on the nose this weekend.

Mower looks to be in good shape, would have purchased that day but was far too big to put in the back of my truck. They wanted $300 to ship it home! Why do that when I can find a U-haul trailer for $38 for a day?!? So I'm now trying to organize that, but if I lose the mower to someone else I won't be heartbroken. Reached out to my newly married friend to see if I could borrow his trailer, however he has his own problems. He's currently reflooring living room, kitchen, dining room, office space and spare bedroom while also having to fly to CA to run a freight terminal there for 10 days. Poor guy sounded exhausted and I feel a little ashamed to even ask him for a favor though I did offer to help.

This coming Friday, I go take a look at the property. Campground friend requested I bring my 500i as he has wood down that needs bucked. We'll likely work at that until the showing. I intend to take him with me as he has much more homeowning experience than I.

Boss and I are preparing a presentation for big meeting on the 10th, otherwise work seems pretty sedate for a Monday. Hopefully it stays that way.

Goals stand at: Survive work week, get required filters/oil/hydro fluid for 100 hour service. Hope to get a crack at the tractor now that it's warmer. Prepare 500i for trip North.

Prayers for those ailing and recovering!
Stay safe out there y'all! Spring's a'comin!

Good Morning!!!! 51F @ 7:15AM. A mix of clouds and sun this morning followed by increasing clouds with showers developing this afternoon. High 59F. Winds SSE at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 40%.

Thanks for the photo, Happy. Do you think the hydraulic cylinder would work if it were inverted? That's the way the one on my press is mounted, so I'd have to cobble together the base and springs to mimic how yours is.
Is the cylinder separate from the pump and connected by a hose, or is it basically a bottle jack?
If it’s separate, you’ve got lots of options. I just hooked up an electric hydraulic power pack to mine. It has a foot switch, and works great. I had originally replaced the hand pump with a pneumatic powered pump, but like the electric much better.
Separate cylinder and pump. I like the sound of the electric pump, too, to avoid the overhead and noise of a compressor. Can you point me in the direction of the setup you found?

I asked for a suggestion about how I should proceed.
Yes, but could have easily gone sideways with a less enlightened person. An easy and maybe even fun backup could have been an hour with the backhoe to create the trash pile.

Yesterday I knocked a few things off the punch list, and got the door replacement for the pump house lined out. Gonna have to borrow some tools that I have down south; I wasn't supposed to be doing any repairs at this stage.

Realtor is supposed to show up at ten this morning, so I want to get a little bit of tidying done, and get all the blinds open.

Hope everyone gets Monday off on the right foot...

67°F and no rain

Finished 1st pass tilling of that Hilo area. Just a couple of small area left.

Interesting project at my neighbors. Ambitious might be one description. To say he might not fully appreciate the complexity might be another. But he did invite 3 of us over for a look and comment. Basically he’d like to create a crossing across a flowing stream, complicated by the surrounding area, significantly steep banks with even higher slopes of disturbed soil . The problem is building something that won’t get washed out. The 3 advisors recommended a simpler approach a bit more down stream but still fraught with challenges. Ours was to take a simpler approach with material different than he already has. Sophie suggested he consider getting a proper professional opinion. Dewayne is aa admitted city boy, but is intelligent and ambitious. Retired software guy. He did serve a nice lunch

Happy Hour in town later and we have a couple errands.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

warming up outside and getting nice.
hung a flock of ducks in my living room, something I bought from a close friend who has an
antique business. Unfortunately his niche is 18th Century America which I don't have any interest in.
But when I saw these ducks, I said finally, and was delighted to support his business after so long.

David, your neighbor was smart to get input and would be even smarter to listen to your wife about getting an engineer.
