glow plug use

Hi,
I have a boat with an Isuzu 2AB1 engine, which I understand is the engine on the Iseki TS2205, and maybe on other tractors.
For anyone who has used this engine, how long do you typically need to operate the glow plugs before firing up the engine?

I suppose it would depend on the temp, but I usually run mine about 30 seconds. My tractor has place in the dash that will glow red when the glow plugs are hot.

Cool, thanks! Is yours an Isuzu 2AB1 engine?
Mine is on a boat, so there's no dashboard. I've had some starting trouble and I needed an indication of whether my glow plugs (which are new) were working properly.
