I think Bird just came up with a few more with his category classifications :

CAT 0 = ...
CAT 1 = ...

etc.

If Harv had used 'CC' instead of 'Chalkley Cup' over the past 6 months or so, you could use a smaller hard drive on your server... /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

I am not an advocate of abbreviations or acronyms, but here are a few that I think suit Tractor By net.

By the way, why is abbreviation such a long word?/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Derek, yes I'm an Engineer for a tier one brake supplier. It certainly is an interesting industry to be in. As we like to say, the big three want aerospace technology at commodity pricing. I've always thought it would be interesting working for Deere, Cat or one of the off highway manufacturers.

SAE did a great thing by putting together all the typical abbreviations etc. Too bad they don't offer it on thier web site. I don't know the price of the book (the site was running hopelessly slowly the other day), but it's probably out there. Try this SAE

It is an interesting industy to ba a part of. Do you work with the mechanical or more on the electrial part. It's funny you mention about working with the big equipment I have wondered that to at times (mostly when I had a bad day at work). Something just made me think that I might have some of the SAE terms on my serivce & repair information system (Alldata) at work, I'll have to look. Maybe sometime we could talk, Engineer to Technician. I'm not upset with engineers like some the techs are (complaining about why the engineers didn't do it this way). I look at it as job security for me.

Muhammad:

You may want to look at Steve Grossmans Jargon dictonary as well as Garmers Jargon. Also there is the Emoticons and Things list. They offer a lot of abbreviations or acronyms used in chat jargon and are located at this site:
