Loader FX28D with FEL problem

   / FX28D with FEL problem #11
Strange plumbing to me. I am wondering what would happen if you disconnected the loader at the quick connects and looped the quick connects together. That would get the loader completely out of the equation and just assure the 3 point is operating as intended. Or not?

A first for me to see the valve you are saying controls flow back from the loader. I cannot understand why that flow should be controlled. Seems to me it should have free flow into the sump.

Yes, I was wondering also. The control sets on top of the 3-point housing above where the return line connects to the housing, and moving this slider control toward center tends to restrict the motion of the FEL. Of course, I'm assuming as to the function of this valve. Until i can get definitive info as to the exact functionality of these valves, I can only assume.

if he moves the slide valve under the seat it stops flow to the loader. 3pt should still work.

Wouldn't the flow from the 3pt which normally got to sump be low pressure?

I am understanding Ben saying the valve restricts flow "from" the loader which makes no sense to me. I cannot see reason to have any back pressure on the loader valve. So which is it, to or from?

I agree Winston, makes no sense. I'm just gonna throw this out there, but would moving that slide cut off some or all of the flow to the loader because more is needed at the 3pt for some odd reason. Or is there suppose to be some sort of auxiliary hydraulics that are suppose to be attached to that slide and it has been plumbed for the loader some how?? Just an idea. Who knows what was done to the tractor before or it is just a really messed up way it was plumbed from the factory.

I originally thought that the slider control effected the pressure line out to the FEL, but after experiencing the problem with the return line, I could only guess that it affected the return line instead. I asked for any help in identifying the actual function of the two controls when I posted the photos - hoping that someone who actually owns a FX28 might have some knowledge or experience in the function of these controls and their settings.

The problem can be laid to rest, because the FEL and 3-pt are now working fine . Blowing out the valve on the return line apparently did the trick. All the discussion lately was simply conjecture on how the hydraulic system was plumbed and why a control was used on the low pressure return line. Anyway, I do appreciate all the input and just hope that the problem doesn't show up again.
