That ain't funky.....that's totally awesome!!!!!! I want one of those engines for my B7100!!!! (maybe I'd need a little bigger platform) 66,0000 HP!!! That would be the baddest tractor on the planet.

Just imagin the pistons. 3 ft in diameter and a stroke from floor to ceiling in your house!

Any the RPM! 102? That's barely moving - but unstoppable.

It would be a great fit for a large ship or train locomotive.

Any two cycle?? I just learned about two cycles diesels this past summer and I still can't get over it.

Eveything about this engine is amazing.

I spent my time in Uncle Sam's Navy as a diesel engine mechanic. The ship I was on was powered by 4 Fairbanks Morse direct reversible 2 cycle diesels. Each had 2 crankshafts, one on top and one on the bottom. Opposed pistons, ten cylinders, twenty pistons and rods as I recall, and 1600 horsepower. They were supercharged, and to reverse the ship, the engines were stopped and restarted in the reverse direction. It worked like a charm, except sometimes the flapper valve in the supercharger did not reverse, and it pumped exhaust into the engine room. The bore of the engine was about 11" and stroke somewhere around 2 feet. One man could barely lift a piston/connecting rod assembly. Top speed was 600 rpm.

Bob our city has 2 of the Fairbanks and Morris engines that have dual cranks and 2 pistons in each cylinder. They were used to power the city generators. They will also run on natural gas. The city had to buy so much natural tgas in their contracts and they used the excess in the generators. They would start the engines on diesel and switch over to natural gas. These also didn't have a throttle on them. It had a little dial and you set it for how much power that you wanted to generate and it adjusted its self accordingly.
