Thanks for the reply. Great looking set-up!

Here are some weights made from large forklift forks. The forks were replaced because they had been overstressed and started to fail. It takes a while to saw them up. They were scrap and free.

Thanks, The five made to fit across the bumper are just less than 50 lbs each. The three legged one behind the bumper is 90 lbs and gets left on all the time.

I have a Yanmar YM1700. I talked to a friend that works at a local steel fabricator about cutting out the "suitcase" weights from 1" to 1 1/2" plate on his N/C controlled plasma torch. The cost turned out to be more than they were really worth.

At his suggestion I built a box and bracket out of 1/4" plate and bolted it to the front bumper. After I built the weight box he gave me all the punch slugs I needed. This probably added 25 lbs for the box and bracket and another 75 or 80 lbs of slugs, I didn't fill the box full, so, I could put more weight in it if needed. Total cost of this project was probably $10 or less in materials and my time.

we had some weights profile cut from 2" plate about 1 ft square with a slot to fit over the front of the chassis. They work real well and cost us about 50 AUD ( 25 USD) each.

Catch is we had to make 50 to get this price !

I had made a set of wheel weights for a JD garden tractor years ago from slugs cut from 4 1/2" thick steel, they were about 12" in diameter. When I needed weights for the JD 4100 I Welded two of the wheel weights together, added a bracket to hang off the front end of tractor and added a handle. Cost less than $5 and weighs about 150 lbs or more I would guess. Check a large scrap metal yard........

I unbolted the front bumper, and put a 20 mm ammo box between the bumper and its bracket. Tossing in my tools and a good sized logging chain has helped me quite a bit. There is room for another chain just in case.

I use a system similar to what SlamFire described. Ammo can stores weights, tools, chains, etc. Unbolts easily & brushguard folds down out of the way. I have @130 lbs worth of extra weight on my front end.
