Looking at purchasing MF 2310 TLB or BX24 TLB.
I have a 200ft tar driveway, can i use a FL to plow snow? I know it won't be as good a blade or snow thrower but the dealers want big bucks for a blade or snow thrower.

I have a Legacy XL that I bought last summer. Use the FEL to plow snow on a 100' blacktop drive. One of the things I've learned is the angle of the bucket makes a big difference. I can see tearing up a stone driveway with a FEL but honestly think a blade would too if not set correctly. I say go for it.

You can do it for your short drive and, as you already realize, it isn't going to be as good as some alternatives. Just that you will get more tractor time with the FEL. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
Enjoy the snow while it lasts.

Yep - sure can. I just plowed my drive with about 5" on it and it worked great. I have gravel so I put it in the float position and just drive forward. It sometimes misses a bit where there are low spots but it works great compaired to spending a ton of $$ on a blade or thrower. Unless you have to plow everyday all winter I would just stick with the FEL personally. Good luck

Novice,

Buy a BACK blade. Put it on the 3pt and you will be done in 1/10th the time. Being able to angle the blade and slide the snow off to the side makes all the difference.

Oh, you have to go backwards...

Used blades are in the 100-200 range. Go to some farm auctions.

I did mine all last winter with my FEL. After using the FEL, my Gravely with its 4' snow blade went into disuse. The FEL is particularly useful around the garage and parking area.

Bought a back blade for this year but have only used it twice. In small snowfalls, driving forward works fine. I actually haven't used it going backwards.
