Day started out bad actually it started yesterday, while brush hogging I got a flat on my left front, my tube got a leak (don't flame me about using tubes) Now back to the story, I intended to get up early this morning and take care of the office work and finish up by noon so I can fix the tire and get finished brush hogging. Got the tire fixed OK but the phone calls never let up. Finally around 3 P.M. I got on the tractor to finish up, did I mention it was it was the dreaded triple H (Hazy, HOT, and HUMID). I had to stop several times to check the cell phone and return calls, I hate having to stop once I start a task. Finally around 6 P.M. I finished up drove a half and hour on the tractor home and remembered I had a watermelon chilling in the shop fridge, my 3 year old daughter wanted to come out and share some with me, we shared a few laughs with red juice running down our chins and on our shirts, daughter looks up at me with a smile and says "I love you daddy", suddenly all the frustrations of the day vanish and I realize how lucky I am.

Actually you are lucky and blessed at the same time.

Take lots of pictures because children grow up to quickly.

That is a good finish to any day. My little girl is 21 and still there are times when she sits down and we laugh and cherish some time together. Enjoy every chance you get. As Pineridge says you are truly blessed.

Your story makes me homesick for my 5-year old granddaughter. She was here for 3 months this summer as she turned five in June. She loves tractor time almost as much as I do. She sits on my lap, counts the seconds for the glow plug before ignition, and then backs the tractor out of the garage and steers it down driveway, in all the fields for all the work and then steers it back into the garage.

When we sit together at night in a big chair and eat popcorn or as I read a story to her at bed time, my day is almost complete. But, when she says: "Grampaw, I love you more than all the stars in the sky", the day really is finally complete.

I also live near Winchester next to Berryville.

Monty Python had it wrong. That is the meaning of life!

We all need that kind of "attitude adjustment" now and then. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
